I'm sad thronebreaker isn't coming to steam as I have a load of steam credit to spend :(. Anyone tried it yet is it worth the current price?
8 Hours in. Just got to the second of 5 maps. It's 5 am, I've played it non-stop. Yeah, it's a
little good. Just a
little.
Actually seems to have cRPG like choice and consequence. There's a side quest early on, to recover stolen gold and silver that was looted from a Temple. I did that, but then decided to keep the plunder for myself because wars cost money. Well, the Priestess weren't too happy about that, and later on, like 5 hours later, a character refused to join my party because he saw I had the stolen gold and silver. FeelsBadMan.
The game also looks fantastic. A+ visual style. I find it strange that reviewers said that the writing is "dry", because I'm chuckling at a good portion of the dialogue. There's some oddball characters in this one.
Seeing character and locations you know from the books is really cool, as someone who is a massive witcher fan since playing the first game in 2007.
Just wish they had supported ultrawide out of the box at launch. I'll try hex edit it, but it'll probably break everything.
Because I've seen a similar comment in other threads, I'll say that just because you played Gwent in TW3 doesn't mean that you've played this. The mechanics are completely different. I will say as someone who has put around 300 hours in the MP Gwent standalone, it's a bit easy, even on Bonebreaker difficulty. Maybe it'll get more challenging later, but I can already see strategies that trivialize most encounters.
