Good to hear. I still don't understand why they didn't release it a month or so earlier to get out of the bloodbath it was in. I just bought it a few days ago but haven't started it quite yet.
So more than 264k. DQIX had debut of 132K and as far as I know that was previous record.

I really don't mean to be a jerk but it's weird to see people grasp at every straw to downplay Xbox.
I mean one of the few people on this site with the actual numbers states:
Did it sell more units than S? I doubt it, but we have our own analyst who (at least from this post) appears to be impressed to a degree with the sales. ZHuge feel free to correct me if I misinterpreted your post, it wasn't my intent.
So if you (icespide) want to act like people are "grasping at every possible straw to make them seem impressive" it appears that it's doing pretty well. If that bothers you, I guess...it bothers you. I think you have to take into context that there was numerous people on this (and the old site) who 1.5-2 years ago were trying to act like the brand was in trouble (or implying it was even dying). People were stating that MS was really pulling the purse strings on the division, etc.
Sales for 2017 were not good period. So all of what is happening over the last 9-12 months has made (some) posters on this site excited in the brand again. Nothing wrong with that.
Judging by 99% of JRPGs released in the west, I would not hold my breath as far as PS4 sales are concerned to remain steady. I think a Steam sale could do the game a lot of good, though.

So Spiderman clearly did a bunch of stuff right. A recognizable IP, an amazing web slinging system, and some great marketing. As for the game itself, I found it good fun, but a little repetitive when trying to 100% it (had a very solid conclusion though).
I think good word of mouth and honestly the insane exposure the game had through memes and jokes definitely had to have helped.

So Disney Marvel is about to go all in on gaming right? Start setting up high quality developers to make more Marvel games, and most likely add it to a gaming universe. Peter, Miles, etc are the starters. Mr Fantastic should take his place as ultra smart guy with Tony being normal Tony, maybe even a bad guy with Superior Iron Man.

It's amazing at seeing NBA2K becoming the premier sports franchise in the US. It shows that EA having exclusivisity with the NFL has hurt that product (i.e. less need to innovate, improve).
Hoping that DQXI did well enough that way us plebs in the US can continue to get future editions of the series.

You have nothing whatsoever to apologize for, both posters you quoted clearly misread the Xbox data from the NPD PR (which did not contradict in any way what you wrote at the time).
This is the grubbiest NPD thread I've seen in a while. Why is this month setting people off so much more than the past few?
Because it's Rockstars first true next gen title. It will sell crazy well. Same for BLOPS 4.
I always forget that nowadays NPD threads are all about dollars lol. Should be still at least close to 200k in unit sales too though as it's slotted between NHL and WWE.
Well with steam sales around 150k I think it could have sold over 650k in the west considering the rest of the markets. Maybe 1mi is achievable by the end of the year?

Depends how you want to look at it. The X is selling like a beast or S sales have totally crashed.
I feel it's like some soccer fans (possibly other sports well) - the better their team does, the rowdier/more emboldened they become.
Is this a real tweet because there is no way that's accurate.
Edit: I suppose some of those games had just recently released at that point and didn't have time to sell by the time he said this.
