2K has a very bad reputation in Switch discussions. Confusion with WWE, last year's launch issues, the usual glitches, the download, and micro transactions means any discussion of the game is filled with people with little familiarity with the port quality just crapping on it. It didn't do all that well on the eshop either and the discount to $40 hasn't moved the needle in any notable way. This in spite of being featured many times on the eshop.
WWE disappeared this year. We'll see if another one bites the dust next year. Switch is settling into its position as a secondary system. It's sad, but certain games really just don't sell.
The conversation surrounding ports hasn't been particularly positive either. Complaints of lacking communities doesn't encourage players to return, and some of those complaints came before NSO. Now it's worse.
I still think there are franchises on PS4/XBO that can be successful, but it's clear 3P will have to be selective. More ports probably. I can't imagine the slate of new games outside of the anime, JRPG, and family games is stacked. 2019 looks scary af for a 3P that isn't going to break even quickly with a cheap port or has some serious IP strength behind it that works well for the system.
I imagine the list is comprised of various Call of Duties and Grand Theft AutosWhat are the other 1-6 biggest releases in Playstation history?
They've obviously had a really good run of success for years but they've always lacked a true mega hit in their portfolio and I'm so happy for them that they finally have it.
Yeah, they are quite efficient. They can juggle several projects at the same time and get them out rather quickly. Ratchet and Clank was 9 months IIRC.
Honestly this is the real takeaway this gen. I'm so glad it's being drilled into MS.
The best-selling Sony published game of all time is TLOU.Spiderman setting records is great to see. I still stand by my prediction of Spiderman breaking the record for bestselling Sony published game of all time, beating out Gran Turismo 3.
I mean, yeah, quantity is up, but we are comparing the likes of Kirby to BOTW, Tennis to MK8, and Labo to Splatoon 2. Nothing released this year has been big. Everyone knows this year is banking on the last 2 months. That's because last year there was Pokkén DX as a release and this year it had a stand alone DLC and Labo kit 3 along third party games.
And the console had more than "3 solid games" in that period last year, much like in this year they released 7 new games at that point (Kirby Star Allies, Labo 1 and 2, Mario Tennis Aces, Sushi Striker, Octopath Traveler and Labo 3). So it was more than what you said for both.
Sorry, I meant to say on a single console.
Those insiders claiming Xbox had a bad month and were down YOY appear to have gotten it way wrong
Time and time again, christ it does nothing but obfuscate the current console climate and mislead an entire forum.
On the other hand I'm real happy to see Xbox growth, is it the 2nd best selling console this month?
Ok, I'm referring to people saying Xbox X had no impact, its overtaken the bloody S !
That was implied. It's still not confirmed if it's down in terms of units sold.
Regarding Xbox One. Seems to be a bit of confusion. I'll try to clear it up.
The Xbox One X System 1TB Black is the best selling individual SKU.
What this means is the Xbox One X is selling really well. But from the data provided it's unclear whether the One X sold better than the S during September.
This is because there are multiple Xbox One SKU's.
So you can have multiple Xbox One S SKU's, that when added together, sell more than the Xbox One X SKU's combined. For example.
Xbox One is up overall this year anyway due to the X. It's a driver of both unit and hardware sales.
We had veritable sources leave Gaf because they were lambasted/heckled in childish ways like this, please let's not do the same here yeah?
Yep, 2020 without a doubt.I don't see any business case for Sony to release a next gen console as long as they are still capable of what we are seeing this month, and really this year. 2020 seems like it makes the most sense to me.
That's the point of PR. Make it look the best.
Odyssey yeah. TR not so sure. It's higher than Rise but that one came separately on each platform and it's below the reboot. So it seems Odyssey and Shadow of the Tomb Raider did all right after all?
Insiders are nice, but why dont we get real numbers here? I'd love some insight on thatPeople take those of us that decide to interact and give info for granted tbh
People love to talk trash to those of us who choose to go out of our way to help and then get upset when "why did all the insiders leave?"

Because insiders releasing so much info can get tracked down far easier. Thats why you don't see direct numbers anymore, only percentages you can estimate from.Insiders are nice, but why dont we get real numbers here? I'd love some insight on that

Take that shit elsewhere, you're not funny and you are just going to drive away people who give us good information about gaming sales.
Y'all should look up the definition of fun in the dictionary.
It also beat every other TR game besides the 2013 reboot.
So, again, relative to the franchise it did very well.
I'm talking about from up top. Official numbers.Because insiders releasing so much info can get tracked down far easier. Thats why you don't see direct numbers anymore, only percentages you can estimate from.
please use these profits to fund Sunset Overdrive 2
I agree, and when I posted that it was in no way ment for Matt alone (love his sales insight on here). We had veritable sources leave Gaf because they were lambasted/heckled in childish ways like this, please let's not do the same here yeah?
I dont see why they would use the extra cpu power on framerate instead of graphics, density, draw distance, etc
And I mean that for most games, not just Spider-Man
Aqua used to give us numbers but some crazy fans caused her to leave.Insiders are nice, but why dont we get real numbers here? I'd love some insight on that
For real. Whew.I'm still taken aback by Spider-Man doing 37% better than all the other multiplat Spider-Man games combined.
That is absurd.
