Castro Bros are such wimps for not running for Governor

Oh no.. my Bros run for potus will be hurt if I try to win an election ...

Like seriously even if Joaquin didn't want to run if Julian wants to be POTUS he could have raised his national profile by running for Governor. He could have gotten so much attention like Beto and Gillum are getting but no. Gotta fun for POTUS even though I have no record and no one knows who I am

I'm serious befuddled at how bad that article is written.

Turning Point USA gets infinite money per year and that was the best they could do.

How is it possible that they can't find even one completely immoral writer who knows how to actually write well.
Republicans don't believe in compensating writers. You're writing on spec or for exposure.

Blood-red states with no people in them get the same number of senators as diverse blue states.

There are more of those blood-red states by number.

By that point wouldn't the electoral college look different too though? We'd have huge populations in a few liberal states and no population in a lot of red states. You'd basically have a democratic house and president and a republican senate. isn't the senate working as originally designed then? (giving "small" states some leverage)

What's happening to our demographics to make the senate unattainable? Shouldn't population growth, the continuing diversity, and people flocking to liberal cities be enough?

It's been calculated that you can achieve a Senate majority with the precisely perfect 19% of the electorate. That number will be even lower in the future. Eventually, one way or the other, this will be addressed. It is entirely untenable.

The electoral college, like the House, is proportional. Montana has 3 EVs while California has 55.

In the Senate, every state has the same number of senators, so it's the number of states that matters. There are more red states.

News flash, the Senate is the one that matters for Judges, political appointees and the Supreme Court.

Guess what happens when Republicans permanatly control it?

Right, but if liberals keep flocking to fewer states then those states will have more EVs. Hence democratic house and president, republican senate. Senate working as designed...

Oh for sure, a lot of the stuff coming out of the supreme court affects as the most (I know certain decisions have directly affected my life) I'm just saying the senate was created to protect small states over large states...

I don't want to obsess over minute percentage changes in the 538 forecasts, but we were starting to do a little better in the Senate forecast for a couple days and those gains are gone now. Back to 18%. It was fun while it lasted I guess.

No judges will ever be approved in this scenario and no legislation can be passed or survive the SC which will be conservative for decades unless the right people die. If this is working as intended, it is time to change some things.

Imagine 75% of the country living in liberal cities, responsible for 95% of the economy, being held hostage by a bunch of high school dropouts in flyover country. That's where this thing is headed.

I'm sure this can only lead to good things happening. This isn't "some" leverage. It is all the leverage. It is the entire country held at gunpoint by ignorant, racist religious fanatics. At this point you can probably keep the Senate with 10% of the population (the dumbest, most depraved segment). Insanity.

How do Senate leaders get elected? Can they be called at anytime or something?

Uh have you not kept up with this thread at all?? Schumer hasn't been trying to block judges, he has actively gone outta his way to make it easier for them to get through.

It's been the main thing about him talked about here up for weeks

Wasn't all that stuff done so that Dems could go home and campaign? I remember reading that brought up in here somewhere.

A Daily Caller writer and Turning Point USA Staffer made a Twitter account to launch a fake sexual assault claim against Booker while spreading the whisper campaign that Booker is gay.

https://twitter.com/TheeDeepThroat

https://twitter.com/i/moments/1053746801835073536

Bro, literally learn how to write with any sympathy whatsoever.

This is the worst written fake sexual assault claim I've ever seen, all of the fake dialog is terrible, the phrasing and framing makes no sense... This is just embarrassingly bad.
Is there a link proving it's this writer/staffer?

Gettin' tired of your shit, Chuck.

What the hell is this tweet supposed to accomplish?

Maybe Kevin McCarthy is really fastidious and seeing his office vandalized felt like almost dying

I almost kind of despise these guys for how blatantly naked their ambitions are and how blatantly entitled they feel. Joaquin saying he wouldn't run for governor because he didn't want to ruin Julian's presidential chances was such nonsense it still pisses me off thinking about it. :lol And I saw Julian say the other day he was going to run in 2020...man I hope he finishes dead fucking last.

Vague slogans are the exact opposite of effective. They motivate no one and communicate absolutely nothing.

"Hope" only worked because of who the messenger was. It would not have worked for Hillary, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Al Gore, etc.

"Let's save America!" is quite frankly terrible. How? From who? Why should I care?

Republicans in contrast are getting a lot of mileage out of "giant caravans of illegal immigrants are coming to swarm your borders and bringing MS-13 with them to rape your daughters if you don't build this wall."

Do you see the difference? Why one is effective and one is not? Why one works fine for Republicans but would NEVER work to motivate progressives?
"Make America great again" is an absolutely meaningless, vague slogan. That's exactly why it works. It lets all the voters, the die hard racist, the "moderates", the independents, etc, make up their own idea of what it means. Now that doesn't work anymore because Trump is not unknown now, we know he is just another far right conservative with generic GOP establishment policies, but it worked in 2015-16.

I have never been polled in my entire life.

Probably because I live in the only blue house district in the state of South Carolina and there is no way in hell a Democrat will ever be in the governor's mansion again.

This is untrue. Any right- or libertarian-leaning person that can string two words together can get a nice comfortable sinecure writing Letters to the Editor or newsletters at a Koch-funded think tank. They even have paid interships, ferchrissakes.

Worth pointing out that the EC and house are more proportional, but we still have a similar problem -- just not as extreme.

Wyoming has 585,501 residents with 1 seat, but each seat in California represents 740,566 residents.

When voting for president, votes in Wyoming are worth 3.6X a vote in California.

In other words, rural white people literally have more political power with each vote they cast and this is only getting worse for congress. For president it's a little more complicated because something like a purple Texas could mean republicans have hard time getting president.

In the divorce filings, Kroupiianova alleged Spencer had increased his "alcohol consumption" which "contributes to his aggressive and erratic behavior and reduces his impulse control." Spencer denied this.

The documents also claim that Spencer was verbally abusive to their children's babysitter, including in front of their children, where he allegedly called the babysitter a "fucking sub-mediocre human being" and a "fucking moron." The court filing goes on to claim both children had been adversely impacted by his behavior.
Kroupiianova said that Spencer's favorite statement to her was, "The only language women understand is violence." He also allegedly told her once, "I'm famous, and you are not! I'm important, and you are not!"
In early July, 2014, Kroupiianova said that when she was four months pregnant, Spencer "got on top of me, held me down with his bodyweight, and held me by my neck and lower jaw," which she said caused bruising.
In late October 2017 — when she was nine months pregnant — she said Spencer tried to "punch me in the face" during an unexpected visit. In a transcript of an audio recording in the court file allegedly from the same night, Kroupiianova said to Spencer, "You're going to hit a pregnant woman?" And later, "You just tried to push me into the freaking stove."
In one transcript, she said Spencer asked her, "Do you think your parents will attend your funeral?"
The Alt-right movement in a nutshell.

Why would they though? Like is this just a straight vote or is there a whole process behind it?

I don't see how this is a guarantee.
And that shows just how much you don't understand about American politics sadly.

Things like this are all decided on well before hand. Chuck has that position as long as he wants it. And as I have to keep mentioning the other high ranking Liberals are closer to his way of thinking then this thread likes to pretend they are

Real fucking tired of Schumer and Biden being very comfortable with this civility bullshit.
I just read a nice quote in a book on this. Something along the lines that civility and forgiveness is appropriate and expected in many situations. But never appropriate when it will be used to keep/put your in your place.
