At this point this is done on purpose. CDPR is perfectly fine with a transphobic person as PR, that should tell you a lot about the company as a whole.

The very behavior we see here defending this company is the very same behavior many in Hollywood usually use to excuse predators who abuse women. It's the same exact fucking thing.

Trump administration is trying to erase trans people from existence by removing them from legal texts. This creates a "we will not be erased" hashtag that transgender people and their supporters starr using on Twitter which GOG then uses in a loaded promotional tweet.
Translation: I don't care about LGBT rights as long as I get my video game.
CD Projekt (not CDPR) really need to fire either a) the people(s) running their social media accounts or b) the PR company they use.

How is mocking the use of a hashtag to advertise their platform not transphobic? They knew full well what it was being used for and twisted it in to something to be parodied.

They have a history of co-opting and using these hashtags used by trans activist to mobilize pro-trans social media as a joke and at the expense of said group and activists.
Hijacking a pretty serious social media movement for their own promotion and then a snarky "how's that for the use of this particular hashtag" comes off as pretty transphobic at worst, meanspirited and dumb at best.

Gamergate was a hate movement from day 1, hour 1, minute 1 and second 1. It literally started from a woman being claimed to have had sex with a man and made to be an evil slut of the world out for her own gain because of that. Only the most gullible idiots with an axe to grind with "Fake Mainstream Media" thought it was actually about ethics in video game journalism.

That second part of the tweet doesn't leave a lot of room for benefit of the doubt, in my mind. It seems to signal an awareness of the use of the hashtag and then blatantly misappropriates it anyway. It comes off as "fuck your silly hashtag".
