Anyone else notice after the

Wonder if it's due to the fires and what not.

Apparenty Special-K's mod is clashing with Ansel making Ansel turn into a black screen whenever I want to use it. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Otherwise, any suggestions on ways to apply texture mods without special K?

I started getting a weird camera transition bug the other day - During the transition to the (classic) battle camera, I get a still frame of the MC standing at where they were when I loaded into the current area.

Has anybody else seen this? I've got Special K & the orchestral mods active.

This is a Special K bug in the game, I believe. Kaldaien seems to have moved on so it probably won't ever be fixed.

Still no update on the orquestarte mod working with the new patch?

Why do I feel this patch was created only to fuck with the mod? It wouldn't be above Sugiyama. I'm sure he was pissed as fuck at this mod.

That most certainly wasn't the case, the patch was on PS4 too and fixed instances of crashing. On PC it also added expanded settings, such as more framerate options and graphical presets along with better keyboard controls.

If you miss the orchestral mod, you can download the previous build of the game via Steam's console:

- Input steam://open/console into your browser
- Input download_depot 742120 742121 6096163807173758332 and wait for the console to report "Depot download complete"
- Empty the game installation folder and replace the data with that in SteamApps\content\app_812140\depot_742121

So there fix for the mod after the last patch? I haven't touched the game since Odyssey and Horizon 4 came out.

Is the HDR convincing in this game ? How is this even possible to have a user-made HDR rendering ?
Because Unreal Engine 4 has an HDR rendering pipeline that is then converted to SDR. Basically the guy bypasses that step with his mod. It's far from perfect as the HDR output is pretty much raw and wasn't fine tuned. The modder said he was developing techniques to improve it, but no idea when we'll get anything more. He's no longer working on DQXI specifically, but instead furthering his HDR so it can be used on a wide range of games, including XI.

I'd rather not have bumped this but it seems I've encountered a rather sad and annoying bug that has no fix. I've played this game for 62 hours and I'm at the end of Act 2 and haven't had a single issue (outside of the first patch briefly wrecking the music mod) and now I had the game crash on me for the first time ever on thursday night just after teleporting to a town and it hasn't loaded up since. Just instantly crashes on boot. The only suggestion I've heard online is that something to do with my save files has become corrupted but I tried literally everything mentioned with regards to dealing with that , verifying the data integrity, re-installing the game, emptying the saves folder, removing the folder entirely (making sure to turn off cloud saves temporarilly so the allegadly corrupted saves don't simply redownload). Nothing has worked. I'm pretty much ready to throw in the towel which is a shame because I was really enjoying this game and I'm basically at the very end (I literally tried to fight the act 2 main boss and died against him once so I was trying to grind a bit). Hopefully I can get it working again, but if not , I'm not about to play through all 60 hours again. Kind of sucks.

So I got a notification that the game was updated, and now it crashes everytime it starts up without loading the opening or anything. Anyone else? Any ideas?

Did you have the orchestral mod installed? This happened to me yesterday. Couldn't load the game. So I deleted all the files that came with that mod and then ran the tool to verify the game files and now it works.

Yeah found a thread on the Steam forums, going through the verification/redownload process now, but I guess it's the old injector causing it?

Yeah I posted some help in the main DQXI thread because I was having those crashing issues. The injector will prevent DQXI from launching , you have to follow the directions listed on the steam community for the orchestral mod , it involves deleting 2 folders and then verifying the game data through your steam library so it can redownload the proper contents of those folders. Then download version 2 of the mod and install it exactly as directed and everything will work.

Okay, so the mod is fixed, but I have a completely new problem. Since following some of the advice in this thread, I was able to boost my performance quite a bit. I could play at 1080p60fps with just a little stutter here and there, mostly the big cities. Only thing I really had to watch out for is running right at enemies first thing after a loaded save game seems to cause a soft lock. Nothing major.

However I'm at a point where the game tries to load a cutscene at Gallopolis and crashes every time. Not at the same spot, but I think my pc has trouble loading the music, all the people, the voice acting, the city textures and everything.

I have a GTX 1060 6GB with an i5 3.30 ghz and 16 GB of ram.

Anything I can try aside from Resolution (Only as a last resort, I use a SHIELD for a streaming and it has a hard time switching resolutions). Is the Special K mod worth a look now that it doesn't interfere with the music mod or is that strictly for high powered enthusiasts?

Sorry if I sound dumb, I'm still kinda new to the whole pc gaming thing. This is the first game I've REALLY had trouble with.

EDIT: Okay, looked around the Steam forums and found a solution

Changed my global 3D settings for V Sync to be fast while turning it off in game settings.

Have everything turned up to max except Shadows at 2 (fps at Unlimited). Game runs pretty damn well now (still have to try some battles). I have to deal with long 30-60s loading times (which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a black screen) and big cities are definitely below 60fps (and I haven't even reached Gondolia yet, which I hear is the big graphics killer), but at least I can get through cutscenes smoothly now.

Since i´m waiting for my pc which will arrive in the mid of december i´m enjoying this game with geforce now beta. I will be able to play this in 4k 60fps and HDR later on. Will special K and music mod work on the latest version of the game?

music mod works with the latest version of the game, yes.

They found a way so even after the .exe changes the music mod will continue to work.

It crashes upon start.

Anyone else has this? I hadn't played this game since RDR2 came out and I wanted to go back and finish it, but it just stopped working.

Nope. Strangely I just got a GeForce update that reset all my settings to the bare minimum possible. GFE said even then my specs weren't up to running at optimum settings. Weird.

Believe that is a glitch that's present in the Special K mod. Basically has these weird transitions. You gotta stop using Special K to stop it I believe.

Yep, the recent version of the mod was fixed to be "future proofed". Just drop and go. I understand the feeling though, orchestra soundtrack really adds a lot of punch to scenes.

Are there still draw backs to running the game in 60fps vs 30fps because of animations? I saw something about spears not working for some characters and dropping frames. I am only 3hrs in so far.

Lol booted it up for the first time for about 2 months and now the game won't boot. Looks like the patch screwed something up.

This is not a performance related question, but:

One third of my main character's skill tree (lower part with pepp boosts) has been removed after arriving in act 2. Is this normal? I had nothing invested in that part of the tree
