God, the lack of professionalism astounds me. If they just wanted to make sure that I never buy any of their products or use GOG to purchase other companies titles by keeping their social media person employed, then they have succeeded.
I just wanted to know who's responsible for GOG social media posts, who's this guy and why is he still in the company after a series of similar acts in the past.
does it even matter now when they keep on getting in trouble with shit? it's like kanye apologizing for saying slavery is a choice and then the repeal the 13th amendment bullshit.
Too many similar comments from CDPR. We're beyond the point of blaming it on an intern, something is seriously rotten within that studio. Very disappointing.
You get kudos from me personally for being honest about this, than the people that lie they're going to boycott CDPR. Nobody follows through on here, and it's why ResetEra illicits eyerolls in the real world - there's no bite anymore to anything discussed on here. Being open about still likely getting the game doesn't mean you're transphobic or whatever the person baiting you said. It just means you're being realistic.
For the tombstone there was no official apology from the company, but the PR guy came here and on their Reddit to apologize.
This tweet seems not by him, so we basically have 2 (possibly 3 since neither mentions doing PR for CDPR, just GOG) different people making 3 different shitty tweets. Which looks uhhh... still bad.
Sometimes you just gotta read the pattern in front of you and realize that some folks (GOG/CDPR) are just really, really shitty people. Either that or they want you (or me) to think that they are; I'm not sure what's worse TBH.
Absolutely. CDP's actions are CDP's fault – not the fault of Poland. The Polish government, and even the majority sentiment of a nation, isn't cause for painting everyone with a broad brush.
Poland's current government is very bad. Many popular opinions in Poland are problematic/offensive. But that doesn't mean "Polish people" are bad/backwards/hateful. Same goes for my own country (US).
While it is undeniably wrong to write off the entire Polish population as right winged religious conservatives et al, it is also undeniable that this is the (iirc) Third time where CDPR or their subsidiary, GoG have posted marketing materials designed to insult the transgender community or downplay the real world struggles of the transgender community or align themselves with the GamerGaters. How many times are they to receive the benefit of the doubt? These people who are responsible for running the twitter accounts have access to global information just like the rest of us and as such pleading ignorance twice and perhaps an additional time in the future can not be taken at face value anymore.
So yea, like you, I do hope the author/authors get fired.

Nah, I'll boycott them easily. They're just games, it's not like I need them or anything. Someone disrespecting our fight for equality and the seriousness of what that entails is a little more important than playing games from this company.

Apologizing for old incidents doesn't matter if you're going to keep making incidents. At this point they know exactly what they're doing, and I feel comfortable as a consumer holding them responsible for their actions like the adults they are. Cyberpunk was one of my most looked-forward-to games from its announcement on. I'm no longer even considering getting a used copy

I wasn't that surprised at all once I saw CDPR in the thread title. They are from Poland afterall, and I have experience insane levels of racism coming from them within my community. Against blacks, Asians, and anybody non-white. I think they are the most openly and causally racist people I've ever met.

I don't like the social media guy from gog, he is such an edgelord at times with all the "no drm" thing and sometimes mock people who make either dumb question, or others that are not really mock worthy.

Yeah, normally when even less offensive than this happens they fired the PR immediately. I have ever seemed cases of CEO having to leave their position because of comments that were taken out of context, so the fact that this person has done this three times and nothing has happened tells us that they don't really see a problem with it.
Whether you believe their apology or not is up to you, but it was at least believable and I took their word for it.
Nowadays it's part of a pattern of shitty tweets and probably a bit sketchier.

they clearly have values that are the same as their social media people otherwise it wouldn't have happened this many times. what are people's intentions with them changing the social media people? to make them look better? they're not the problem, the company as a whole needs to change, not their social media representative
That really stood out to me as some guy fucking up a copy/paste and copying part of a conversation, seen it happen before on Twitter (a politician a few weeks back if I recall correctly)
You are expecting far too much from the mod team on this site
Fact of the matter is these games are wildly popular and discussions on them bring a lot of traffic to the site, so they aren't going to ban anything. They didn't do it for Kingdom Come Deliverance, they didn't do it for Dragon Quest, and they certainly aren't going to do it for CDPR

Edgelords, who, coincidentally, are a large part of the game-buying audience.
It's not only the company's politics but the country's politics. Unless they move their entire headquarters and divisions to a more progressive place or the deeply christian culture of Poland changes, it's very unlikely CDPR will change.
