BLOPS 4 was really ugly on the base ps4, it triggered me in to trading in my launch day model for the pro, opted to to get this bundle since I already had Red Dead preordered.

Hope the pro I get will be quiet lol

User warned: platform wars
I guess this is good for people looking for a pro and RDR2 but I will be sticking with the best version.

Three days from release and Amazon still isn't able to give me even an *estimated* ship date. Lmao.

Noticed Amazon updated my order status to arriving Tuesday, but never emailed me to let me know. Cancelled it, hopefully the bundle I have reserved at Best Buy is ready to go Friday morning at this point.

Got my Pro bundle from GameStop, played about half an hour of Spider-Man while RDR2 was downloading, and it was whisper quiet the entire time thankfully. I guess we'll see if that changes when I play more, but so far, so good.

I'm coming from a launch PS4 to the RDR2 Pro and it is a dramatic difference in noise level. Never know how the launch systems compared to the original Pro, but I'm pleased with how quiet it seems to be.

Sorry to bump... can't post new threads.

Digital Foundry have reviewed the new model the comes in this bundle. Apparently it's a lot quieter:

I've got a launch Pro and it's incredibly loud - I wonder what makes these ones so much more quiet? Something as simple as a new fan, or a more fundamental redesign?

Went from a launch Pro to the RDR2 bundle, and I can confirm it's basically night and day from a noise level perspective. It does spin up a bit still, but the pitch isn't anywhere as egregious as my launch, and a lot of times it will actually dial back the fan pretty quickly in scenes where it's not needed, where my launch would go to 100% within 2 minutes and never go back down until I went back to the XMB.

Also, my Pro sits on my desk, so it's more noticeable for me personally. If you have your Pro sitting in a living room environment several feet away from you, you may not even hear it over the ambient noise in the room.

After that review I am really tempted to get one. I have a launch pro, and for some games (and in some cutscenes) it's very loud.

Then I'd have an extra physical copy of RDR2 to deal with, though.

Same here. Mine sits just to my left behind my second monitor and I pretty much can't hear it unless I put my ear up to it. Yet to try GoW or Spidey on it, but it hasn't made a peep through RDR2 or MHW. I was really worried picking this system up after hearing noise complaints about the Pro, so I'm pretty damn thrilled with this.
