This may have been one of my least favorite episodes so far. Weird because there was nothing specifically wrong with it and the musical numbers were great. I think I was waiting for more of a send-up of the girly Halloween/occultish movies they referenced (The Craft, Hocus Pocus) and that I loved as a kid, maybe. Or maybe I'm feeling like other people felt about the last elaborate dream episode of The Sopranos and the ancient mythos episode in Lost close to the end of their respective series: being hyper aware that the show has a definite end date and getting annoyed if an episode isn't the absolute best ever.

Also, they have no idea what to do with Josh Chan at all, huh?

I think it was good to have a bit of a calm episode after the previous one. Since the problems the characters are dealing with are not your typical drama's problems, but more like everyday issue/psychological hurdles, the characters do need time off to reflect, heal and evolve (of course, they do it in fast-forward).
Like, the scenes with WJosh and Daryl were probably there to ease up into them coming back together in a future episode. That's probably a more natural way to do it.

Oh wow, that was fun. Not an amazing episode though. I love the numbers.
Took me a while before I realised the girl in Rebecca's cell is in GLOW.

I'm liking the direction it takes. Rebecca has her up and down, but she somehow acquired more good friends than ever.

And now I gotta rant:
The CW app is the crappiest streaming service I have ever had the displeasure to use.
The ads were sharper than the actual show for like half of the episode and there were excessive amounts of ads. If I turned off the ads, the streaming would completely stop and I have to manually refresh the page.

what do you mean "turned off ads"?

One annoying thing with the CW stream is with the ads being inserted automatically they sometimes popup too soon and then after finishing there's a few seconds of the scene left and then it the transition where the commercial is supposed to be comes up.

Finally got to watch the episode and loved it, particularly the songs. They seemed more fun and more theater musical than the last episode.
And who doesn't love Patton Oswalt?
If you don't love Patton Oswalt, the door is over there.

Great songs tonight!

Anyone know who played the pretzels?

Edit: it was the music producer

The songs all killed me, but as someone who works in a law office, don't be a lawyer had me in stitches lmao

Great episode, I loved it!! I don't think Rebecca can keep it up though. She'll go through a few things until she finds what she really wanna do.

I'd like to say it's a top 5 episode for me, but this show has so many great episodes, I cannot be sure. They even managed to make Josh likeable, which is a feat not everyone could pass.

Awesome episode, didn't expect the real wedding to happen in the same episode lol

Heather looked stunning!

EDIT:

I knew I recognized the instrumental:

Awesome episode, awesome songs. This season so far I've enjoyed a lot more than the last.

Don't Be a Lawyer was straight out of season 1 tier in terms of silliness and fun, and I love that. <3

All of the above is true. Also, Don't Be a Lawyer hits way too close to home.

Obviously the final song is a West Covina reprise with Rachel on a giant pretzel, right?

Many a year ago I was encouraged to become a lawyer, on one hand I'd probably be at a better place than I am now, on the other it might've somehow been a worse ride than the one I'm on. Never mind there is or was, haven't really looked on it lately, too many people with law degrees and not enough good paying jobs to go around.

Even a decade ago I remember people warning about law school and the actual job prospects for lawyers

I do know that being a public defender is the worst

Too much work for little time and probably not paid much

Lololol at the song tonight.

Edit: I'm also getting a distinct feeling that by the end of the show, the theme song is going to acknowledge that Debra is psychotic or something and decide that real Rebecca is more interesting for dealing with her mental health or something.

The theme song is doing...something, though. Haha.

Edit: Also, I really need Nathaniel to get his act together :(

Episode 4 was rather good actually. Rebecca truly grows as a person in this one. That's heartwarming.

Also, all those jabs at Hollywood and child actors were on the nose.

We've had little appearances from all the usual office staff but not Karen yet.
I DEMAND we get some Karen time.

Caught up on last couple episodes. Jim always make the most of their screen time.

Nah, Tucker was annoying. Nice development with Rebecca and Nathaniel, but it felt like a waste of time focusing on Tucker.

Oh it's 18? That's awesome, I was so worried some characters wouldn't get to some sort of "okay" in 13.

The one who desperately needs some screentime is Beth.
