I enjoyed them and I'd be ok with them being in the game again. I always think things should be improved upon so I echo the sentiment that they should be improved but, as they are, I enjoyed them. Particularly the one with a major villain, and the one with the Spider-Man assist.

I thought they were okay and a good change of pace. In Spider-Man 2, Miles will likely be
a second Spider-Man
so his sections will probably be very different from how they were in the first game.

For MJ, I think they could make the stealth have more depth such as having more complicated patrol routes, more open-ended level design with less obvious solutions for how to get from A to B, and maybe more stealth gadgets.

The Spider-Man stealth sections should stay, and much like everything in the game, be made dramatically deeper.

Playing as people who are not spider-man should be cut.

I think it's great to have a (literally) grounded segment compared to the Spiderman superheroing. It makes a nice contrast to the normal gameplay and makes you aware of Spiderman's powers all the more. What they absolutely need to fix though is how by the numbers those segments felt. The logic of sneaking past some of these enemies also really stretched the limits of disbelief, even for videogames, which particularly felt of out of place with the movie like presentation.

Perhaps keep those segments but make it less about sneaking and more about solving puzzles and exploration. Exploring Osborne's apartment was imo the best of those segments (before the soldiers showed up).

Maybe they could go further into the reporter direction and have MJ do actual reporting like questioning people with multiple choice dialogues or trying to find connections between various evidence.
I guess less spy and more detective, if that makes sense

Wasn't a big fan. If they had used them more sparingly they probably would have been ok. Like if the game JUST had
Miles's Rhino section (which was legit tense) and Mary Jane's section where she works with Spider-Man
, I would have been cool with that. I liked taking control of the characters but I really don't think we need to do so in a life or death situation. More situations like the one where MJ figures out the puzzle in the museum could be cool. I also liked walking around the world from Mile's perspective so maybe they can do more with that.

Stealth elements is the reason why I keep on putting the game down. Fuck that, I don't get how you can have such a great game, and then slog it down with that. Same reason why I hate the last of us games.

The Rhino and Mary Jane + Spider-Man one are the only bearable ones for me.

I would rather have a walk-around environment where you just look at items at get bits of exposition/lore, at most some puzzle solving, basically just variations on the first sequence you play as MJ. Everything involving the stealth after that felt super undercooked.

Oh, please Lord Jesus almighty, NO.

I understand they're meant to emphasize Peter's powers (aaaand bloat play time) but holy hell I absolutely despised it.

YES - but different.
I like them as a contrast to the amazing Spider-Man movement and powers. Those sections felt grounded in a way and emphasized how spectacular Spider-Man is.
Unfortunately, only a few sections have been well done, they need some good new ideas and twists on that formula for it to be entertaining enough.

So yes, bring them back, but improved. And don't do only stealth sections, do other "on the ground" stuff.

Playing as people who are not spider-man should be cut.

Game, set, match. You should never have not been Spider-Man in that game. The other segments, in addition to taking you away from the best part of the game (being Spider-Man) for no gameplay benefit, felt like they were - dare I say - pandering.

And I really think the main culprit is that they were too frequent. If they had been done conservatively (one or two MJ segments, no Miles), people would have been raving about it and would be looking forward for more.

Had the Miles tease ended the game people would have been excited at the possibility of playing him in the equal, now you kind of blew that wad courtesy of the dull and needless Miles segments.

Again, I'm all for slowing the pace down from time to time, ultimately it gives a game more depth. And story is important to this game, one of the BEST segments in the game is meeting MJ for the first time following by going to dinner where you know who makes a cameo. GREAT WRITING and ACTING. So yes please, slow the crazy action down for story segments. I'm a sucker for that. In fact I wanted more slow down moments with MJ whether it be dinner or a date (How did we never go on a date? Other than that first dinner, and I wouldn't call the apartment scene thing a date. More like Netflix and chill).

It's just I should be Spidey while all of this is happening. (Or make the other stuff optional. Make nice equipment or buffs for Spidey as a reward for completion. Beefs up your side quests with meaty story content and shuts up those who hate the segments. Two birds with one stone everybody's happy).

There were just too many. I'm fact I think it kind of diluted a cool situation that happens near the middle/end with MJ.

That while sequence would have been way cooler if it would been the first time you did it.

I'd say keep them, but make them optional. I'd also say revamp Spider-Man stealth sections, I found them to be fun but a little shallow.

Also, give me an option to walk around the city as Peter

I disliked miles stealth missions getting to feast, i disliked MJ's stealth mission in the penthouse. the Rhino stealth was fine, but the only one i actually enjoyed was at Grand Central Station, the teamwork was awesome. so i'd be fine with more of that type but less of the other types. spiderman stealth missions were fun though.

I liked that these segments were a break in pace, the one in grand central was ace, but I feel like they could have done something different and unique for each. Like MJ could have done some journalistic detective stuff similar to the Sherlock or Murdered Soul Suspect approach. Just more interaction with their surroundings.

They're awful. This isn't the gameplay I signed up for when I purchased Spider-Man and I want to turn off the game every time one of these abominations starts. Breaks to slow down gameplay are fine but the game already has a way to do this, such as visits to Feast, chatting with MJ or Aunt May etc, so that's no excuse for this crap.

The one where MJ infiltrates a heavily guarded military base was terrible especially with how it ended.

My personal favourite non Spiderman moment was walking MJ around the auction. I didn't hate the stealth and liked it breaking up the gameplay, but I much preferred the exposition focused MJ portion.

I like them for the most part. The segment where you play as MJ directing Spidey was great, Miles vs the Rhino was pretty fun, and I enjoyed exploring Norman's penthouse as MJ. They need some work, but I'd like to see them expanded upon and not completely scrapped.

As for the Spider-Man based stealth missions, I would love more of them. Trying to clear a room without being seen, slowly picking off enemies, etc. I enjoyed all of that and would like to see ti expanded upon in any future installments

Yes, but they can be improved.
They do bring something to the table and that is a break from current gameplay. It makes the player see how a normal person moves in this world in comparison with Spiderman.
It needs to be better. I love that you can do some sort of "investigation" with Mary Jane, but it is all so scripted and obvious that it isn't that much fun. Maybe make the harder and more complex Mary Jane missions optional, the ones where she actually uncovers something interesting and then we get to go as Spiderman just like you already do in the game.

The one section I would keep is the Grand Central scene where you're basically using spider-man as a weapon. That was great.

Just finished the game last night, they absolutely must be cut.

They're awful, and nothing really important happens in them. Also, they kill the momentum of the third act (which sucks anyway, having three/six boss battles in a row was just too much).

They're pretty easy and offer a nice change of pace. I'd like to see them a bit more involved, maybe. Or to grow beyond the "get caught and fail" mechanic. If they could add a little bit of UC4 or Outlast--something that lets you scramble and save your hide, that would be pretty cool.

I voted yeah because the stealth missions were a surprise that:
A) They did not totally suck
B) I got to play as characters I never would've thought I'd play as in this game

But I could 100% be happy w/o them lol. They were just like- good for not being horrible messes that stealth usually is

I don't mind the stealth missions. Have more of them be like the subway station. And increase the spectacle. It'd be fun having to avoid villains and debris while Spidey is in combat and the world is falling down around you.

I don't want to play as anyone who isn't Spider-Man in a Spider-Man video game.
