I'm in Brazil. The market here is greatly shifted towards PS4, so I think the disparity is even bigger than in the UK actually.
Held off on it because I'm getting Blops and BFV deluxe editions back to back more or less. That and reused creation content is kinda garbo, story stuff seems awful. Waiting for a price drop, and even then I need the best deal so a key site will probably be my first choice. Sorry SC. I'd even say they should have went games as a service but the last time they tried that it was God awful scammy bullshit.
this would only make sense if namco bandai were the publisher of rdr2.

Most of this thread is just sour Nintendo fans who last played SC when Link was in it. At some point this topic will slowly turn into "should of been on switch" If you read PAL threads you will see these same posters claiming starlink and DS remaster did well.

I was going to buy this day one but then they ruined it with the DLC scheme. You're going to nickle and dime gamers for their money and cut out content at launch? Then fuck you, you get nothing.

I bought the game, but I won't support any DLC for it. I am sure having locked DLC on the disc turned many away.
How so? Products from different makers can take sales from each other. Few people have an unlimited entertainment budget
Didn't even know it was releasing. Why you'd release a week after CoD and a week before Red Dead Redemption 2 I don't know, just setting yourself up to fail.
I don't think digital will add up for a 45% drop but hopefully, the additional revenue that comes with digital sales will aliviate the situaron.
Also, bad month for releasing a Japanese fighting game, despite cathering to a different audience everyone's eyes are on Blops and RDR2.

I remember that Soul Calibur games used to WOW me visually. It's not the case anymore. Dead or Alive 6 seems like on another level visually.
Even the chara design is not impressive. I'll pass except if Link makes a comeback ( so if there is a Switch version ).

Because the game was probably ready and they're confident in their product. I'm getting tired these posts. Huge games are coming every holiday. Why can't another game in a completely different genre can do okay in the holiday season?
Well I didn't buy it because my girl Tira got imprisoned by a season pass pre-order.
Normally I'd wait for the game + season pass to get discounted down to a full price retail game but this is a case where I'm waiting for a real half price, price point for this game.

I'm tired of people who think because they aren't similar, there's no overlap. You release a week inbetween 2 of the biggest games of the year, it's probably not going to go well. Even Battlefield got the fuck out of that zone.

Wondering what the sales in the u.s will be like. Since uk usually isn't the highest when it comes to fighters tbh, Also wondering what the sales target is hopefully they didn't expect 2m at launch or something crazy.

Seriously its the main reason i'm not getting the game, I simply refuse to support any fighter where the available roster doesn't interest me while excluding characters that i main, I passed on SCV for the same reason and I'm doing the same for SCVI until at least one of the korean guys is available as DLC otherwise i'll completely skip the game altogether.

That's kind of a problem for fighters. If you bring back everyone from the old games the roster will end up being gigantic and people will complain about "bloat" and the game being too intimidating to learn (see: Tekken Tag 2). If you cut the roster, people will complain their main got removed and won't buy the game. They can't win.
Would it really have been better if we focused on "In UK it sold 80% on PS4, that's all what matters". The producers already said that SCs future depends on how SC6 performs. First data from UK and Japan indicate a decline, even compared to SC5. We have no data for other markets yet, but for the ones we have informations it doesn't look to perform that well, for several reasons.
Is it the capitals thing? I've never been able to work out whether it's officially SOULCALIBUR or SoulCalibur. They seem to use both.

- The game practically generated no buzz outside of the small hardcore Soul Calibur fans.
- Heaps of comments that were in the OT about people not even knowing the game was out this week.
- Practically no advertising.
- The low budget shows and it probably turned a lot of people away.
- No one on my friends list are playing it other than a few friends from ERA that I recently added.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out 1 week later.

Tag2 was great. Its biggest problem was its very late release.
This game seems low budget to me i bought the previous SC games day one but this one eh doesn't seem full price worthy ill pick it up later for cheaper
