3 of the nominees are older than Mario Odyssey, that's why I asked earlier in the thread what is the release period criteria for the award.

No, not particularly. I can see how someone might think it's good coming off the back of the first game, but compared to your average platformer it's still pretty bog-standard.
Knack was a mistake. We have Astro now.

I was on last year's judge's panel for this category. There were some weird entries in there, I think Planet Coaster was on there alongside the pretty mediocre Robinson: The Journey...

Found the rules and guidelines document.
"Games must have had original release in the UK between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018. No game that was entered in to the 2017 Awards will be considered unless there have been considerable updates"

Really? I think the game has a decent amount to offer kids. It's not a bad game dude.

As someone who got bored out of my mind after the first few hours of the original, is this one a marked improvement?
I live for couch co-op games, but Knack 1 developed some pretty uninspiring enemy types/attacks/hazards that really chipped away at my ability to enjoy it around the halfway point, if I recall correctly.

Not really since Astro Bot is not eligible until 2019 BAFTA Children's awards.

No way! British charts are the exact same year after year, France has way more diverse tastes.
The people who bought Knack caused Knack 2 yet failed to show up for Astrobot. This is their cross to bear.
