It's totally doable if you don't do GAAS, and play some shorter games from time to time.
I mean, I'm at 51, and I've finished both Cold Steel games (85 and 92 hours), Chaos;Child (60 hours), Yakuza 0 (81 hours), and all three Utawarerumono games (30, 39 and 58 hours) this year.

Well I have multiple challenges, one being I'm used to having to at least check out a wide variety of games just to enter all the UI/UX features into my brain. Obviously I can't finish them all but I don't need to.

Now when playing for myself and not research some of my research habits and the increased availability of games makes it hard to stick with anything for long.

Time is still my biggest challenge.
I really am more a seasonal gamer as I've gotten older. NFL season means playing games I can play while the football game is on so story driven games get delayed and stuff like Forza bubbles up.

I realize November thru January when holidays hit, work slows down, new tv content slows down, is the perfect time for more story based games.

Now with my new laptop, I'm having fun trying games from my steam library that I can now run lol.

I've been playing Farm Together for about 5 hours and some folks asked if I can share my thoughts on the game.

So, first off, I've barely scratched the surface. There's quite a bit to do in the game such as buying different crops, animals, buildings and so on. The point to the game is to grow crops, harvest, earn money and xp. Rinse and repeat. More crops unlock as your farmer gains levels and you can only grow crops in certain seasons, which last 17 mins each. There are missions to complete so you know which crops you need to grow, such as 'So and so wants to buy apples and eggplant.'

You start off the game in training to understand the game with a good-sized area of land. As you gain money or experience, you can buy more land. The map seems pretty huge to expand your farm. There is waiting around though, waiting for you crops to grow. Crops can take awhile to grow, ranging from minutes to days. They grow quicker when you water them and the higher your player level, the faster they grow. Also, crops continue to grow even when you're not playing the game. There are tons of crops, animals, decorations to buy as you advance in the game. It's colorful and darn addicting. It really is a relaxing game and a neat thing is that you can visit other people's farms online and harvest or plant crops to benefit both of you.

The game is an arcadey farm game compared to Farm Simulator, but pretty darn fun nonetheless.

Sounds pretty chill. Thanks for posting.

I've finished 110 games this year so far.

Your monthly lists have probably added 110 games to my wishlist lol.

Stuff like this makes me question the average intelligence level of "Gamers."

Like every Tomb Raider before this one, the discounts came hard and fast. It should have been no surprise and yet...

Less an intelligence issue more a maturity issue imo.

I'm enjoying valkyria chronicles 4 quite a bit. It's kind of inconsistent, both in quality of battles/maps, and writing. Definitely some crappy anime stuff, not too bad though. Some of the UI stuff is quite poor, especially the dialogue that pops up everytime you go into any menu, or level up your classes.

I've enjoyed it less after episode 7 or so, but I'm hoping it turns around.

Because of the nature of the combat (which I enjoy a lot), it is a really good netflix game.

I sound more down on it than I actually am. I'm playing a ton of it and the issues are likely exacerbated by that. I think it's good.

God bless GMG and Fanatical.

Putting IGN and Humble to shame.

Dunno why I bothered trying to finish ADR1FT. A tedious collect-the-oxygen mechanic that discourages the exploration you'd expect to largely be the point in this sort of game; a dull story; pretty but visually repetitive environments; and navigational tools that are grossly inadequate for navigating in a 6DOF space. I must have spent close to an hour flying around in circles, just trying to figure out how to reach one of the final objectives, before giving up.

Tried MGSV Ground Zeroes for the first time, thanks to the GMG bundle; it's fun, but a lot harder and with a steeper learning curve than I had expected. The final escape objective in the main mission is also fucking hard, at least if you don't know that you're supposed to eliminate as many guards as possible on the way in.

Damn, Lords of Shadow is pretty difficult.
Apparently, I played up to chapter 6 four years ago, so I figured I'd start over since I remembered nothing at all about either story or gameplay. ...You can only start over by deleting your save file from the disk.
So I did that and played through chapter 1. Then I started thinking "hm, I remember being pretty thorough with searching for upgrades and shit when I played it years ago" and kind of figured it would be a shame to have to redo all of that and I'd just continue from where I left off now that I was a bit accustomed to the controls again. So I restored my save (thanks Madjoki for making me aware of Windows 10 File history) and watched a youtube compilation of cutscenes up to where I was and continued on.
Well, I'm at the boss in Chapter 6 now and he's kicking my ass (the level before took many tries as well, though that was a good exercise in learning all the combos and flow again).
Thinking of just dropping it to Easy, but I think I'll give it 1 or 2 more tries..

I regret not getting a new account on gmg to get the metal gear bundle (they never solved my problem), I can play them through family sharing but for 4 euros it would've been worth it to have my own keys.
Never even got an answer to my ticket, unbelievable.

That KOTOR 1&2 pack for £2.09 on Fanatical is a great deal, damn.

2 has a native Linux release too. Might play that on my work laptop when I'm done with this stupid paper.

I think they are drowning in tickets and no one is working over the weekend. They still haven't responded regarding the region locked Castlevania LoS 2 keys.

You will likely get a response during Monday , resellers at least in my experience never have support ready during the weekends

I don't think I've ever "played" anything quite like Valiant Hearts....it's like a cross between a visual novel, a point and click and a history lesson, mixed up with soulful music and feels. Although "playing" seems a generous way to describe it, I'm just compelled to keep on going....

Rhaknar I'd like one Rebel Galaxy, please :p
I tried to get it from some of the latest giveaways, but Giftbot is either slow, or it just ignores my pleas by not letting me take even unclaimed keys :D

I finished LoS back on 360 first on easy or normal and then replayed everything on hardest.
It gets pretty mean for sure, and the final DLC/extra chapter boss is just stupid.
You need some later game abilities to access some of the secrets and upgrades in the early levels, so don't worry about them too much.

I like the heavy combo a lot.

I should get all the achievements on PC too...

I bought and completed A Mortician's Tale and it was a huge disappointment. At first I thought it was supposed to be a game but then it turned out to be nothing more than a 40mins long tutorial, which vaguely resembled a visual novel with some "press A to continue" kind of gameplay slammed in. Alright, I thought, I'm all in for a meaningful well-written story! Well nope, because I didn't even find the time to actually think that and the ending credits were rolling, with no particular story to tell of other than some very basic narrative with a bunch of emails that were trying incredibly hard to sound realistic but just ended up sounding incredibly phony. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Am I right that we're yet to see any leaks for the dates of the Halloween Steam Sale? In the absence of anything to the contrary, presumably we can expect it in about a week's time?

Snake Pass and Hollow Knight are amazing games, so glad I finally got a chance to play them.

I dropped Momodora Reverie because I was embarrassingly bad at it. Kept falling into the instant death spikes (ugh), dying like 10 times in the tutorial level alone, and combat felt unresponsive. But Hollow Knight is just the right level of challenge. Maybe I'm speaking too soon since I only just cleared Greenpath :D

My hands hurt after playing both games for extended periods of time. I'm totally unused to controllers so I grip mine really hard. It's a cheap one anyway with mushy buttons, so I ought to invest in a better one.

Finished up The Hex.

Good game, though it has pacing issues. I kinda want the dev to just make a straight up adventure game now. Too much focus on the minigames, though typically by the end of each one they can be fun and they do help develop some of the characters. But I couldn't help but always want to get right back to the Six Pint Inn.

Sounds a bit like Pony Island, where the weakest parts were the ones that forced you to play the actual Pony Island game. I'll still play it anyway, though

And I look a few posts up and got what i asked for...Nvrmind :)

one of my PC fans is rattling like crazy, don't know which one.

It isn't the GPU, I upgraded and the rattling was before that.
If it's either the front or back case-fans, I don't care.

But could be PSU or CPU fans, which would be bad.
How long do you guys think it will hold? According to my hard disk stats, the pc was running for 24500 hours as of today.

I think if its PSU or CPU you could check it by stopping it manually or checking where the rattling comes from. I had that before and its annoying as hell. I would rather replace than wait for it to get louder. Most often its just a bad "bearing", if thats the right word?

Depending on how the fan is built you can take them out and oil them up with 3-in-one mineral oil and that'll give you some peace and quiet for a time. You usually just take the sticker/decal off the top of the fan and there's a little hole for the oil.

Hey PCera

I'm trying to figure out a way I can enjoy FPS/TPS and other M/K combo type of PC games to be playable while sitting on a home theater sofa which will be placed in my entertainment room soon.

So basically I already ordered my home theater sofa and I have my TV mounted.

Playing my console games (with their respected controllers - DS3, DS4 , Wiimote and WiiU Pro controller) and most of my fighters/RPG/action/platformers on PC with my DS4.

But whats the best way to comfortably play while sitting on a couch with a M/K combo. I've googled and people have these boards that they made themselves.....any solution I can buy rather than make lol?

I also have a basic wireless mouse and keyboard that I have been using to play most of my PC games in the last two years, the basic $25 one you can buy, nothing fancy and does the job. I play SP games so no MMOs, MOBAs or anything competitive so it works fine for me.

I want something that I can use my keyboard and mouse on.

When I was doing this I just used a cheap piece of MDF board that I sanded a bit and cut down to the right size. It was lightweight but still sturdy and it didn't break the bank.

Edit: Just realised you said you wanted something to buy rather than make. Even if you're not up to making something, this solution is still pretty simple. You can do without the sanding and you can have wood cut for you at any hardware store.

So, I was playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider where Lara goes to peruvian jungles explore some incas ancient ruins.
So, I've decided to play some old point'n'click adventure game from 2008 called Art of Murder - FBI Confidential that looked like a grim detective story about murders in New York.

It was like that, but then at some point Nicole, the protagonist of this game, suddenly decides to fly to Peru and explore incas ruins too.
And when she returns to New York, her chief named her "Lara Croft"
I've seen many wild coincidences but this is one of the best of them.
