Why the fuck is every one of your posts in this thread worrying about how people treat and talk to Trump supporters? This shit is annoying.
It's not exclusive to this thread and has been a pattern. He can still fuck all the way off though
I don't give a FUCK whether or not people like you ever come to my side, Trump supporters which you clearly are, or feel like your fee fees are being hurt because your being called out for being the rotten pieces of shit that you are because you're more than happy to throw minorities under he bus for a wall or a few more cents in your paycheck.

I can multitask asshole. I can call you out for being human garbage while also helping my candidates win, you know the candidates who aren't the scum of the earth?

I "bully" these people because they fucking deserve it for being monsters, not because their orange avatar won the election.
Agreed completely

I'm so fucking glad that in a thread about erasing trans people from existence, we're REALLY worried about bullying Trump supporters.

Don't break something carrying that water.

This is more than needlessly cruel.

It's sole purpose is to whip Republican voters.

It is defranchising an entire class of people for the sake of getting votes. It's not just cruel. It's cold and calculated.

So they're trying to define gender as sex and make it completely binary, despite that scientifically it's not always so cleanly binary (intersex, etc). I'm sure Kavanaugh will be happy to ignore those pesky parts of science and stats that don't fit the agenda though.

Yep. Completely sick and everyone still on the Trump train has lost the opportunity to be considered anything but monsters supporting a monster. No one should be worried about "bullying" Trump voters in the face of people literally being written out of existence. This country is devolving and it's entirely on the GOP, their constituents and the people who try to excuse, minimize or ignore the reality of their heinous actions.

TBF a whole lot of gay and lesbian people don't give 2 damns about the transgendered when it doesn't directly effect them.
And they would be idiots. The right hate us gays as much as they do transgender people, the focus only moved away from attacking gay rights because it felt like a lost battle. But recent history tells us a surge towards the right can roll back progress at the drop of a hat. All minorities need to be united.

I don't have a problem with the science behind this. I think it's important to have a concrete definition of someone's gender just from a healthcare perspective. Unclear to me how this will effect transgender people.

I could not post what I legitimately want to happen to everybody involved in this. They are punching down on the weakest of society out of pure malice.

I hope Caitlyn Jenner feels terrible right now.

She'll be the same way Kanye is.

I fucking despise this administration. If you are legally able to vote, then vote. Get these stains out of office.

It's not bait. I'm just looking for someone who is willing to express regret over voting for him because certain people keep trying to convince me that Trump supporters aren't all irredeemable pieces of shit and I'm having trouble finding concrete evidence of that.

If it makes you feel better i have seen people on reddit, including recently, that have admitted to voting for him and regretting it.

FYI, it's not "transgendered". It's "a transgender person", not "a transgender", etc. I'm sure this sounds like petty semantics but "transgendered" sounds like when old crazy people talk about "the gays" or "the blacks".

http://time.com/3630965/transgender-transgendered/

Referring to someone as "a transgender" can sound about as odd as saying, "Look, a gay!" It turns a descriptive adjective into a defining noun and can make the subject sound distant and foreign, like they're something else first and a person second.

The department argued in its memo that key government agencies needed to adopt an explicit and uniform definition of gender as determined "on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable."

Science? Trump just very recently said scientists have an agenda when discussing climate change.

Plus, science backs up transgender people.

Fuck out of here.

The problem is the science behind this doesn't say that gender is immutable. It says that sex may be. It also says that sex isn't binary as there are many more types behind XX and XY.

Unclear? It would strip them of their rights and attempt to strip them of their identities. This is clearly aimed at his base who are transphobic. It isn't about science. It's about hurting others.

I'm a trans person who is very close to getting my gender legally recognized.
This is incredibly scary to me and is not what I needed to see today.

What science? This administration is incredibly anti-science. This move completely disregards science and the healthcare community's thoughts on the matter.

For everyone asking why the right and the GOP loves going after Transgender people its because they can't go after gay people like they used to as the shift in public opinion just won't allow them. Same for being able to use more overt slurs for a lot of other minority groups. It also doesn't help that the Transgender community is very small meaning even fewer people know and interact with them and fight for their cause. They're incredibly vulnerable and the Right loves themselves a vulnerable minority to use as a scapegoat.

It shows they're selective in the policy's they'll trump publically yet cowering from the light of day elsewhere.

Exactly. Also, you don't have to support everything the candidate you prefer does. And it would be nice if trump supporters, no republicans, would actually call out their own candidates when they do something that even they find wrong. And I think it fair for other people to assume they're ok with it if they refuse to do so.

But its not concrete is the point. Gender is much more complicated than male/female.

And to people saying you shouldn't care about trump supporters, unfortunately your two party system and gerrymandering means that you actually do need to consider how to respond.

And this right here is why the ignorance or 1 issue voter defense moderates and cowardly trump and Republican voters try to push is bullshit and no one but them buy it. You can't have this be an open and huge part of your parties platform that garners votes and at the same time pretend it doesn't exist or were ignorant of it. And it's insulting that these people think and expect us to believe them and then act indignant when the people effected by their bullshit doesn't buy their excuse.

Yeah, I just Googled it. First one I saw was someone for whom shaming got to him and caused him to regret his choice, and understand how dumb he was.

i love how ignorant cis people like to throw around science and rationality in these discussions. it never seems to occur to them that the trans people currently sounding alarm bells might be, by necessity, far more expert on topics of gender and sex than basically any cis person who doesn't have a doctorate or phd on the subject.

spend 5 fucking minutes listening to a trans person about gender identity and this is immediately clear. their lives essentially depend on it.

I'm not sure how they are going to find a 'scientific basis' for this bullshit considering science acknowledges the existence of trans people. Probably the same 'scientific basis' they use to deny climate change.

This is fucking disgusting, trans people exist, have existed for as long as human beings have existed, and they aren't going anywhere asshole.

I have seen this occasionally. It's funny though because they interviewed one of the duck dynasty wives about her vote for trump and she said something like she regretted it but then when asked if she will vote for him again she strangely wouldn't answer. That's why I'd love to see the 2020 ballot sheet of those that say they regret voting for him.

Go there if you want the opinions of lurking trump supporters was my point. You won't find them speaking up here for fear of a ban. But over on Gaf they do, especially in the Era specific threads.

Why are you even lurking around there still? Place is a shithole. Move on.

That aside, this is a damn shitty move. Can't believe that some transgender folks supported him.

trump regret specifically means nothing. the policies this administration has been implementing are 100% in line with republican party orthodoxy.

every republican supporter for the last several decades should be made to feel ashamed of themselves. they have all contributed to this.

but of course once trump is gone vast amounts of energy in the media and centrist political class will be dedicated toward reforming the party's image and distancing themselves from trump's tone while they continue to go even further right in policy and become even more venal and cruel.

Only accepting one of two sexes isn't neccessarily physicaly accurate either. I don't know if there's any good medical reason to have sex on a birth certificate, but it still ignores the different brain structure of transgender people, and intersex people which covers a wide variety of other non-binary external and internal physical developments. Lots of things aren't readily apparent just by looking at the genitals. Can't say any doctor I'm aware of has ever referenced a birth certificate for medical purposes either.
