Awful matchup, but the baseball played should be good. (Although I'm sort of hoping for a 2004/2007 redux to justify my bellyaching.)

I'm thinking Red Sox in 6. I haven't been super impressed watching the Dodgers and/or Brewers in the postseason, both teams seem to be overmanaged and I think the constant changes and extended bullpen usage will come back to bite them in longer series. Red Sox haven't really been firing on all cylinders since the 16-1 game. Mookie has had an average to bad offensive postseason and Benny has only had one big hit. If they get going things get really scary fast.

I don't know how the pitching matchups work, but I think if Boston can survive Houston's right-handed dominance pitching Sale and Price, they should be able to handle the Dodgers lineup as well. The bullpen has been really good besides Kimbrel and Workman, the Sox can also option to have Stephen Wright back for this series and probably get rid of either Swihart or Hembree/Workman.

I think we can hit this version of Kershaw, but it wouldn't surprise me for him to be dominant and Sale to be shaky. The rest of the matchups, Ryu, Hill, and Buehler... they are all inconsistent at best and Buehler seems very hittable. If Eovaldi and Price keep current form, the Red Sox have this.
Mookie Betts is probably gonna play second base in LA
Yup! It's a good wrinkle to have. I can't wait to be annoyed by it being mentioned every three seconds on the broadcasts.

JD is a horrendous outfielder so that's an interesting wrinkle for the games in LA. That Benintendi/JBJ/Betts outfield is a huge advantage.

Well at least I can stop following baseball now. Like seriously I sat through a 5 hour game for this shit and they fall short one game of the World Series. On to football and basketball for me now.

I wish I could say that. No other sport does it for me like baseball. Bring on the WS and offseason!

Also, fun fact from last night: That bunt by Manny Machado was the first base hit bunt on a 3-2 count since 2014. And the first in Machado's career. Like... wut. Nobody has done that in 4 years? Baseball is crazy.

Edit: Machado has fully embraced the heel role. Did anyone catch him grabbing his nuts in front of the crowd last night? Look at their reactions. LOL:

Good summary of the Dodgers' regular season grind. I can't believe they're back in the World Series. I'm so hyped.

He also mimicked those Feel the Love celebrations yesterday. Monster heel.

Why even fire Scoscia?

Yea he stepped down but not winning a playoff game since 2009 kind of sucks. He could probably have had the job for life because of that WS but that team has been coasting for years, just a waste of a generational talent in Trout and pissing money away on players that won't get them close to competing but look nice on a billboard. I'd be upset as hell if I was an Angels fan.

I just got in a fight at the bar.

Yankees fan thinks Jacoby will be released. While this is probable, do you think there is zero chance he goes through spring training or lands any sort of roster spot?

I don't think there are any teams willing to bite. Not saying it isn't possible, but I don't see the downside of seeing how health/team plays out before cutting the cord. You're spending da money anyway.
Where is he playing? He's currently 5th or 6th on the depth chart assuming they bring back Gardner. It's better to DFA him. He's a sunk cost.

What do you know?

Why not release him months ago? Today? Tomorrow? Thanksgiving? Etc.

You're paying the money. You Hanley him unless someone comes calling.
Cashman is probably holding out hope some team is dumb enough to trade for him. I expect him to still be on the team come spring training, but he'll DFA'd at the end when no team does.
