Every year is a massive year for Disney now. This year's domestic gross will likely be the highest of all time for a studio. Disney 2015-2018 represents the First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth biggest years of all time for a studio (with Universal 2015 ranking third).
Now add in Fox to that shortly.
They always have 1 or 2 bombs per year, Artemis Fowl will be one.

I think that the Aladdin property is too popular to actually bomb, but I could see it being a lot closer to Cinderella than The Jungle Book or Beauty and the Beast.
Anecdotally, as unimpressed as people here seem to be of the Aladdin trailer, myself included, elsewhere it seems successful in activating the nostalgia.
Of the live action Disney cartoons next year, definitely gonna be Lion King over Aladdin over Dumbo.

I don't know I think it's more likely that Dumbo bombs than Aladdin bombs.
Tim Burton doesn't cast black actors unless they're Samuel L Jackson.

I'd say all the main Lannisters cast have the strongest actors of the regulars to semi-regulars. Tyrion, Cersei, Jaime, and Tywin
From the outside looking in, Aladdin does seem like the biggest departure from the cartoon, just in the sense that there are a couple of new characters (Jasmine's friend and the white prince), and Jafar is fairly young and buff.
Not as bad as a kid for a kindergarden field trip they took us to see Song of the South. And no bastards it was not the original release it was a rerelease in the 80s

Replace Aladdin with Solo or Justice League. We need to realize that in this age of RT, no franchise is critic/WoM proof anymore.

Reminder that Disney did not have a non-offensive portrayal of black people until Hercules, and they were sassy gospel singers.
To this day I cannot reconcile how gospel ended up being the music genre for Hercules. It beggars belief.
They're probably talking about the upcoming film versions, and they would be right if Aladdin's OST is unadulterated. Removing Be Prepared makes the Lion King film OST C tier in comparison to Aladdin's current B+ rating.

Even so, Circle of Life/I Just Can't Wait To Be King/Hakuna Matatta/Can You Feel The Love Tonight is still the best song selection in any Disney movie.
