I miss these games. I want to give them another play through, by I think these were the best Naruto games ever made. I like the ultimate ninja games, but the single player compared to the ubisoft games just never compared. They did an amazing job of making you feel in the world of Naruto.

Who agrees?

They were called rise of the Ninja and the broken bond if you haven't played them.

Having a fully explorable Konohagakure so early into that generation is about as ambitious as an anime licensed game will ever be. For reference: One Piece is only NOW getting their open world action title with a budget slightly above typical Ganbarion-devved titles. Rise of a Ninja should be praised just for that.

Rise of a Ninja is excellent and my favorite way to revisit Naruto.

The second one is really good. CC2 games have better cutscenes but that was it. I think Storm 2 is also a very good game but everything after was mediocre and boring.

I played the first one and was extremely surprised at how good they were.
I will also forever remember that game because my 360 RROD'd when I started playing the game.
I never played the second one, even though the first one basically ends on a massive cliffhanger.

That's a bold statement and I'll have to disagree.
I'd take the over the top graphically ahead of time single player mode of Storm 2-3-4 any day and any time over the 'single player adventure' of those games.

I was comparing the boring open world of the Ultimate Ninja Storm games vs the Ubisoft ones and yep, those games were at a completely different level.

Rise of the Ninja was fun and the Broken Bond was a huge improvement. The games are not flawless at all, but I would've loved to see a Shippuden game from the same team.

The post above... wow: are those pre-rendered backgrounds (Ultimate Ninja Storm 2)?

Everyone always wanted a damn game where you could make your own ninja, choose your own Jutsu's and just have an adventure. But no japanese shounen IP's ever do.

Yeah back then every platform had their own exclusive Naruto game

Sucks that now only Bandai has the anime license Monopoly

Its the only one that has the actual music so yea I guess so. Its still funny tho how they retconned Kabuto out of existence in Raise because they didnt have him playable but then re-inserted him into Bonds.

I used to think that until i replayed Broken Bond. Their version of free traversal was more of a chore-filled headache, where you had to do repetitve button mini-games just to literally get places, and platforming and trap avoiding that came with it just wasn't well alligned with super clunky movement controls, so you had to be super precise and often edge yourself just to the right place to... once again just get around. Sure, tight platforming to get through the section, even if clunky, is fine. But when it's soemthing you do over and over and over when exploring through same area, it just becomes a chore.

And don't even get me started on combat system which was pure example of "what fighting games look like to people that don't play fighting games"

I started Rise of the Ninja when it first came out and beat it a couple years ago after not touching it for like a decade. It is still super fun. Both mechanics and graphics are aging wonderfully.

I'm not a big fan of Naruto but if you are, you should totally do as OP says.

That was early on in the, everything is now open world, trend of last gen and it was amazing to be able to explore that world.

I had a really good time with it. How on Earth did they get the license? Did bandai just not bother and Ubi scooped it up?

Gekitou ninja taisen 4 is number one in gameplay.
I'm only playing ultimate because they don't make the gekitou series.
Also never knew those games where actually good, maybe i'll give them a try if the local gameshop has them.

I loved these games, walking around was so much fun. Can we get them as BC on Xbox One please?

Storywise I agree however, I much more prefer the combat and graphical style of the UNS series. Mix those two and you'd have a perfect game.

Happy you started this thread OP, because I too remember loving these games and being confused as I assumed the ones on steam were those. Never knew Ubisoft published that. Makes much more sense now.
