It's not exactly clear if is there from what I have seen. The patch is just labelled X enhancements.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has 4K texture pack on Xbox One X

I had a loud X that shat the bed. Its replacement is quieter than the Spider-Pro.
Tried Wolf 2. I was able to hear some fan noise, but only with the TV muted and me standing next to the Console itself. It is nothing compared to what my Pro puts out on a regular basis. Not even in the same range for me.
It won't scream like a pro but it ramps up the X fan more than any game. Especially if you let it sit for 5-10 minutes where you get your gun then go shoot the oxygen tanks. You want the smoke to fill your screen and it'll push the fan hard. It's kind of a worse case scenario yet still better than the average pro noise.
Digital foundry will probably see it is imagine but no review copies will be Xbox. They may have to buy an Xbox copy to test it.
It would be great if it has a texture pack like shadow of war. Devs should really utilise that extra memory.
Nothing touches a noisy pro. I couldn't deal with that if I had another option. Mine is loud as it's a launch day one.
There aren't any confirm for now. By the way if it's a real 4k texture patch should be as minimum sized around 50 GB.
The reality is even the extra 2,5 GB arent enough most of the times for 4k texture. Especially in free roaming. But maybe this time is different.
Yeah it's pretty childish stuff really, not every Pro is loud either. But some on here can't help themselves unfortunately.
My Pro is loud, my X isn't. I don't see what is childish about saying this? It is a real issue with the Pro. It is hands down the loudest Console I have ever owned. I have never heard any other Console over the game I was playing.
Just because your Pro is loud doesn't mean they all are, mine is quiet. It's childish when it's chucked into a thread, purposefully, that is about 4k texture packs.
Others were discussing it, so I chimed in. I didn't "chuck" anything in here. Also, are you telling me that when you fire up a game like DOOM, you hear nothing? I find that very hard to believe, frankly.
How in the world taking advantage of a console that has extra 4gb of ram is boning a console that does not have those extra 4gb of ram to be taken advantage of?
Yeah, there are quite a few games that seem to almost push X too far, at the expense of stability. I hope that isn't the case for RDR2. As for the texture pack, it's all speculation in here right now. We don't even know if there will be a download, AFAIK. Just going off a description, I think.
So they should only do this when Ms has the marketing rights and Sony has the strongest console?
The pro is notoriously loud. It's the loudest console I've owned as well. You're in the minority having a quiet one and it's completely fair for the rest of us to complain. It genuinely spoilt my experience, and my partners with until dawn and other big first party.
You would be on a tense section on until dawn and it sounded like someone had turned a vacuum on. My Mrs would say "That is so annoying" it was poo.
My Pro is pretty quiet, but it has plenty of room. Playing DOOM had the fans kick in at times but not on a ridiculous level.
I wasn't targeting you either just to make that clear, just certain other users who clearly know what they are doing.
I think the expectation should be the more powerful console has a better version. I know i expected it with OG PS4 vs XBO and was disappointed.
Said that in another thread but why R when people asked to them about pro and X patch enhancements, it said they can't speak about it at the moment? Couldnt be because only the X has a patch enhancements and they won't screw their partnership with Sony? I don't see any other reasonable explanation.
It will be apart of their contract with Sony that they can't discuss the x version. They might be able too after launch but deffo not before. Think how many people would buy an x for this game if they knew it was considerably better.
I'm getting both too. Digital on xbox, physical on PS4. Probably won't be getting the PC version (doubt my computer could run it in any decent capacity), but I'll for sure get the next gen version.
Sony pay to get their name slapped on adverts and bundles leading up to and after launch. Honestly too much is read into these marketing deals.
Rockstar will utilise both consoles to the max, it's what they've always done, and if the X ends up being the superior version then the impact that has for Sony and Rockstar is minimal.
Any people buying an X for the improvements is going to be weighed out by those picking the PS version because they saw it advertised with Sony's marketing attached.
The only L Sony will take is going to be in the faceoff category and at this stage of this gen those hardly carry the weight they did five years ago.
Have you played RDR1 on the X? It looks superb. This is going to be a huge improvement on that. The launch trailer looks awesome to me.
That is dumb logic, Sony has marketing with COD and last 2 cods superior on the x, marketing is just advertising the game....

So why ban the discussion of Xbox version then. These types of things being secret is poor from a customers point of view.

There is an extra download for the X on top of the base game. This all points to something extra being included for X. In past instances this has meant a higher resolution texture pack.
It's pretty certain at this point.
Ms marketing around these terms are not trust worthy though as we have seen before . What they consider 4k texture is it really 4k texture ? Just like any 4k rendering method is considered native 4k by MS .
Not marketing. The console is telling you something on top of the base game exists.
Nevermind I though he was tweeting a pic from store ,saying 4k texture pack word is in the store where it says 4k hdr.
Sony gives Rockstar money to promote their version of the game. People playing the game now are probably only experiencing RDR2 on PS4 as this is the version being presented. You can't really discuss the advantages of the X version if nobody has even seen it yet. (And probably won't until launch day).

Sorry, but it's just funny how people were acting like Sony discovered some technical prodigy, but random Microsoft engineers shipped a better product. Havent heard a peep from Cerny since the Pro reveal event.
