Lies! Nothing is cuter than a pterodactyl.

Speaking of Pterodactyl's. I just beat Chrono Trigger for the first time since I was like 12. Now on to Chrono Cross soon, one of my favorite games of all time that I've beaten countless times. It's nice to have more clear context for it.

One of the things is that you can get some kills and good team play with the Operator's abilities. It's fun as hell.
I try to play for the team with Mute, Jager, Bandit, Rook and get my gear down for everyone before I have a chance to be killed. Lesion is really fun too. Some operators I want to get better at so I'm up for trying and less resistant than I was at the start. Casual is increasingly lame as more matches have people doing full team runouts and memeing. It's not helping me learn better play. Maybe I'll do my placements this weekend.

what happens if you get the email, subscribe, and then they go "oops it wasnt real haha sorry" again?

I mean I guess they can always go "have a refund" like they did with the Insomnia thing, since clearly they dont honor the initial offer.

That being said if I get the email im subbing :p

So it looks like GMG is now completely ignoring me for my Castlevania 2 issue. Anyone with region locked key got replacement from them or any reply?

I actually named that as a reason for unsubscribing the other day too, I was well pissed lol. More specifically I mentioned "long time subscribers not getting the same offers as new users is complete horseshit"

Well I didnt say horseshit.

I'm getting hyped for Hitman 2 but I'm confused about the silver and gold editions, did they split the 'Season Pass' in 2 DLC packs?
I see 2 expansions but no detailed info on them, what an odd decision, makes it hard to make an informed decision regarding this.
If anyone has details I'd appreciate it.

I understand why people use the ignore feature but I choose to not ignore anyone because I want to be able to respond to blatant trolling or fanboyism. Imagine if all users like Ethomaz were able to lie and create the narratives they want without anyone challenging their bullshit. The forum would become unreadable and unusable for PC gamers.

It doesn't matter. Trolls and fanboys are beyond reason anyway, but I believe that most normal users can easily distinguish between a solid argument and fanboy drivel. Most trolls aren't as smart as they they think they are and they end up embarrassing themselves in the end and destroying their credibility. We saw that recently with the SFV thing. Who is going to take that guy seriously anymore?

Just wanted to say I completely agree with you.

Also you all should not forget Era has lots of lurkers and I know at times I only have time to browse and I often learn a lot in various threads for example the Linux thread.

So I wouldn't worry too much about arguing with certain users as there are many others who are curious and do learn things from the threads.

Like in the Asscreed thread on xp boosting I learned about wemod and shared that with some friends, I doubt I actually posted.

So you never know who you are helping and I'm sure Era threads come up in various searches as well.

Anyone played Eleven: Table Tennis VR and can attest to the realism? Have a ping pong bar near by and it'd be neat to practice with that game.

Good thing I got rid of that scream fortress case quickly last night. Sold it immediately to the highest buy order for 71 cents, and it's down to 9 cents this morning. Along with the other items, I got a nice 2 euros of Steam wallet funds. Thanks for the heads up Madjoki

I know I am asking for the impossible here but does any one have any recommendations for a 27" 1440p monitor with g-sync and that supports high refresh rates? 120+ is what I want. IPS display is preferred, I have a budget of about $500USD for said monitor, I plan to buy a GTX 1070ti to use with this monitor
I have my eyes on the Asus ROG Swift PG279Q as well, hoping for a small price drop around Black Friday (it costs slightly above 700 € here). Planning to power it with a new 2070, both together replacing my 7 years old Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM and my fan-failing 970.

After Tacoma I finished several short games (that's a new one for me).

Gone Home: liked it more than Tacoma. It's like Marie's Room but more fleshed out. Was waiting for a scare jump the whole game though.

Virginia: played it just after Gone Home. Coming from a game where you can interact with almost any object to a game where you can only interact with a couple of things left a bad taste in my mouth gameplay wise. The art style is nice and the story is intriguing (no dialog) but I was not a fan of the ending.

Out there somewhere: really enjoyed this little platformer sans a couple of obtuse puzzles. But I'd recommend playing it with a controller.

A Bird Story: Another short game with little to no gameplay like Virginia. Cute story but I hope Finding Paradise has more meat on the gameplay side.

8 bit Bayonetta: I thought this was a side scroller but you can't even move Bayonetta from side to side :( got some high scores at least!

Now playing 1979 Black Friday and it seems nice for now (story where choices matter... or so they say).

PS: also got the Kingdom Come email. Could I purchase the 3 months and pause the current one? (I already have hitman and hollow knight)

If you're into spooky things, keep an eye on Visage. It takes admitted inspiration from P.T., RE7 and Amnesia but the first early access chapter is genuinly promising and showcases how the game can hopefully keep shaping its twisted identity even further.

Gameplay isn't much more complicated than having the patience to roam around the house discovering items, light puzzles and keeping your (in-game) sanity straight. Sounds standard and familiar but Visage excels in the scary atmosphere it builds, locks you in and maintains it. Sound design is disturbing and subtle, the house keeps morphing ever so slightly and you'll be seeing things...maybe purposely or because of your own mind. There's this trust to let your imagination play tricks on you without heavyhanded loud noises or sudden jumps.

The sanity mechanic, essentially your health, to avoid darkness isn't too obnoxious to completely distract you from the main objective of exploration. You absolutely need to search your surroundings for keys and such and to become aware of certain mechanics or options - while there isn't direct hand holding, a path and a story do exist. It's certainly not an pointless haunted house.

Finally the game is running on UE4 so the visuals sell the scary setup even further. Not to mention the planned VR support.

Blood Ties DLC of Rise of the Tomb Raider bored me to tears... Never been a story-only guy. At least I am already half way through.

I will finish it tomorrow.

If you're not a story-only guy, then yeah, you won't like Blood Ties. It's basically a walking simulator.

As someone who loves walking simulators, I loved it, and it's probably the only thing of any value in the entire rebooted trilogy.

I have to wonder how Steam's DAU numbers would be if Valve wouldn't count all the pirate shared accounts.
On Polish version of Ebay searching for Cuphead (sorry Teeth ) results in shitton of listings offering access to a shared Steam account with the game - starting from €0.8.
One of the listings even offers to add the game to your account, provided you send the seller your Steam login and password and disable Steam Guard (lol).

To be honest, I haven't played any "walking simulators". Don't even know what does it really refer to. Is Life is Strange considered one? Personally I like LiS. Apart from looking around, reading and listening, it's also about making choices and time travel element so I considered it has gameplay. The game's story is actually pretty good (although I don't like certain section of the last episode).

Back to RoTR, I like the main game. It is a much stronger entry than the previous one (which I have recently replayed). The challenge tombs actually made me think, and some of the backstories are cool. The combat mechanics are also satisfying.

BTW, after giving some extra thoughts, I think "story-only guy" is not really correct as I love tradition Japanese VNs. Probably because I have different expectations when going into different type of games. I certainly did not expect Blood Ties to be such a different take compared with the main game. Maybe I should refer myself to be more "gameplay-oriented", at the same time the orientation differs according to genres.

It's referring more to games like Gone Home, where you walk around an area and look at various things, items, scenery etc, and get told a story through environmental interactions. I love them, but they're not exactly known for deep gameplay mechanics.

Blood Ties is far closer to something like Gone Home then the rest of ROTR, so if you were looking for more ROTR, it's not surprising that it didn't meet your expectations.
