Red Dead Redemption 2 has 4K texture pack on Xbox One X

Well native 4k takes up more memory than 1080p, so the quality (1080p) mode has more available memory.
Pretty sure it means the 1x will have improved textures over the base Xbox one. Doesn't necessarily mean the pro won't have the same improved textures though
Unfortunately we won't get confirmation until the games out. Sony's exclusivity won't allow it.
Does that mean no one gets to see the Xbox One X version until after release? Including Digital Foundry and other outlets?

2. All it really means is there's a different asset package for X than base hardware, but yeah usually that's a texture pack
that doesn't work anymore since it now cycles between installed and ready to install with LB/RB :-/
I'm expecting it to not be the best version. only because of the marketing deal though.
How to access it? Hate such optional things because I could miss it, just install everything. :/

That's literally impossible with the X having better hardware.
Come on, be realistic here. If there is one company out there who gives a fuck about look and performance on a technical better console, it's Rockstar, just look at the past. If they have more power to use, they will use it for even small things.
And I bet it will run in rock solid 30fps.
People want to feel good about their purchase/ decision, we all know X is going to have better resolution, doesn't mean people getting on pro will be playing the inferior version if anything people playing it on OG Xbox will be playing the worse version, pro,ps4 and X will be just fine
Not impossible, could be better optimized. I doubt Rockstar would gimp their game for anyone. They don't need the money from Sony nor MS.
Running worse or at parity with the X would mean gimping the X version. That's never happened with a multiplat before.
I'm missing something here, or the OP is. X1XE:True just means the game is X enhanced. That does not mean there are different textures. It means that the game runs at a higher resolution and/or settings and/or frame rate than the Xbox One version, it basically means the game has been optimised to run on the X. Generally only a handful of games have high res textures and these so far are ones where there are PC versions of the game and the X simply got the highest PC quality textures whereas everything else got medium or low quality ones. But that is unusual.
Mostly improvements come about through resolution and AF, AO etc improvements. Not many games create different texture versions.

We've seen the X push higher resolution while framerate suffered a bit. I'm hoping it's higher res and locked at 30. I purchased it on the X.
I've never had one of those issues. You must have some terrible luck.
He means the PS4 version has exclusive content, so you can debate which version is the best. Graphically the X version, but content wise the PS4 version.
For X users I hope there are more improvements than just a higher dynamic res, which I personally find negligible at the distance I'm sitting. A good looking game is a good looking game. For example: God of War and Detroit (and probably also games like Forza Horizon 4, but I don't own an Xbox) at 1080p put a lot of (dynamic) 4K games to shame, if you know what I mean.
Same. Resolution beyond 1440p means little to me. I'd rather get some more framerate out of it, I'm already salivating at the idea of a 60fps pc version.
What is there to debate. Wasn't the PS3 version noticeably pants on head?
What would stop an Xbox exec or PR from just putting it all out there? I'm sure they know by now if this is true or not.

Timed exclusive content. Content for which isn't really much to get worked up over. Xbox owners will have to wait 30 days later to get Arthur a new jacket.

For the biggest game of the generation? Absolutely.
As an owner of both mid gen consoles, I was 100% behind a pro purchase until this rumor dropped. Hoping we get more of a confirmation before Friday.
