they can wait becouse they still have games left and PS4 still sells really well
but Xbox one sales are worst So it make Since to Xbox team to release they Next-Gen at the end of 2019
I figured that would be the case when the PS4 version was number 5k on Amazon. Would you say the Switch version is selling well though? I got the impression all 3 versions were kind of falling flat sales wise.
I'm assuming the player base for the other platforms didn't even know the game existed
Not great as a whole certainly not. Toys to Life is a wasteland in the current market.
But the Switch version is doing pretty ok all things considered imo. Should comfortably outsell the other 2 versions combined. By like a big margin

Do you think it's possible for Ubisoft to be happy with the game's performance even if the toys don't sell? It feels like they greenlit this whole project back when toys to life was still a thing and they kinda had to stick with it even if they knew that aspect of it was going to bomb. I expected the game to flop but could it still do well as a game even if the whole venture doesn't pan out?
Yes. I already used Welfare's PS4 for January-September numbers I posted later.

Honestly. Only ended up caring for it because of the Star Fox integration. They got me there, I really most of the Star Fox games. Skipped Zero, So I've been dying for a Star Fox game.

That's ... not ... at all accurate. There's lots of talent in the industry that's not winning (forget hardware, think not making it as a profession). Being able to market yourself or be marketed makes a way bigger impact. The best talent no one knows about is still the talent that no one knows about and doesn't get the job/sales. Talent absolutely does not always win. o.O
what about nba 2k19? can you tell us if the switch version is doin well?

Hmmm it's pretty early still so let's see how it legs out. But honestly I dont really see this as doing that well in the grand scheme of things.
Like the Switch version for a Toys to Life game in today's market I think is going pretty ok. If all 3 versions were selling on par with it then I think Ubi might have something. But as it is I just think its too late for this sort of thing really

Not surprised the switch version is performing much better. The advertising I've seen for the game heavily featured the star fox content and made it feel like that was the definitive version. I felt like if I'd seen that as a non switch owner it would have turned me off the game.
People will probably just say its ¨flat¨ compared to last year, but I think it is their most disappointing. Last September was understandably low given that the Xbox One X was so close to launching but this year they had the X, S, Xbox All Access, and a number of new bundles. How they couldn´t achieve some growth with all those things is hard to believe.
Is Starlink a game? Serious it is the first time I read that name.
It's the space exploration game with Star Fox in it. It also has a toys to life aspect.
Spider-man game is first-party thought just like Bloodborne.
That made curious... how can Star Fox be in a non-Nintendo game?
I'll never understand how Nintendo co-opted Upisoft's new IP to basically become a new Star Fox game in the public eye. I'm sure it's working out for both sides since I doubt Starlink would sell without those skins, but it feels surreal that they did it successfully without it being planned from the start.
bloodborn is 1st party cause they own the IP, PS doesnt own Spidermand unless we start to split hairs about the movies

It's not the first third-party game starring Nintendo characters. Last year you had Mario+Rabbids and Fire Emblem Warriors.
Nintendo approached Ubisoft at, I believe, E3 2017, after they unveiled Starlink, and suggested a partnership. Nintendo probably saw more potential in the game than it had and Ubisoft probably saw that their game was likely going to flop. If not for that partnership, imagine the sales. It was definitely a good move for Ubisoft.
Even if there was a business case to be made, which I really don't see, software development takes way way too long these days for Sony to have anything substantial ready in late 2019. Add that there are still plenty of big PS4 exclusives coming (some of them won't hit 2019)and you have no reason whatsoever to rush a PS5 to the market in 2019.

Why would it be a rush to the market? The PS4 will have been out for six years at that point. And there definitely is a business case to be made, but it's totally cool to agree to disagree about it.
