See both Toro Rosso's have new PU's. That's why they were quick in Sazuka. Easier to push your PU when it only has to last one race for your home Grand Prix....

They didn't push the engine in Suzuka because they had software mapping issues.

This new PU is a Spec 3 plus with more performance and countermeasures against issues found after examing Gasly's PU after the FIA banned Honda running new software for the Japanese GP after giving them the OK to do so.

I'm actually glad Vettel and Ferrari are fucking up simulatenously, because if just one of them faltered, there'd still be some sort of hope and stronger disappointment.

I'm with Horner on this. They have to be consistent but man does this penalty completely deflate this weekend's race.

These nitpicky rules might save a life.

They might. I think the rules are way too much. It's like a puzzle after each qualification to figure who will end up where because of all the grid penalties this season. Let them pay a heavy fine or punish in a way that doesn't influence the races that much.

Not that I care that much about VET in particular, but these nitpicky rules and penalties take the joy out the race itself.
He was THIRTY SECONDS faster than the allowed time under Red Flag conditions. With a car in the gravel, in the wet.

It almost always takes a tragedy to make change happen, but in F1 they tend to make sure they actually learn from past mistakes.

Fair enough, I didn't know the gravity of his offence. In general though I would prefer a different form of punishment over grid penalties.

Financial penalties have to be huge for top teams and drivers to care about because they money they are talking about is vast.

Driver issues should be grid or race penalties or points penalties, team issues should be fines or constructors points penalties.

As we've seen, it's not like he was a teensy bit over.

Don't worry. Lewis will crack soon.

Yeah, so how do you handle this in a fair way for both top teams AND poor teams? Especially since there's no real and honest way to determine costs or budgets, nor is there a clear cut way to tell honest mistakes from actual cheating.

The sooner this season ends the less embarrassment Vettel and Ferrari will suffer... Jesus Christ I honestly dont remember the last time I saw such a complete embarrassment in sports from a Championship contender.

At the start I was massively disappointed, then I was angry but now... I... just pity them... damn...

Vettel is a 4x champion. Who'd have thunk the consistency between these two would be this vast 7 years ago?

Not really applicable, when you consider Honda and Toro Rosso are dropping to the back on a weekly basis so they can develop their engines at a greater rate.
