So, long story short...

Im from Brazil, from time to time over here we have been getting the occasional date and reveal leak. What you need to know upfront is that this is no formal leak, but rather an inference from some unusual information.

Recently many Low tier stores (not Mom and Pop shops, but not Walmart either...) have been sending out e-mails informing that "Pre-Orders for Final Fantasy 7 Remake are now open", This is notable for a couple of reasons.

1- It is not weird or unusual for stores to put up Pre-orders ahead of formal annoucements or when a release date is still now known. But it is unusual for them to formally announce via their mailling list that they are "now" accepting formal pre-orders.

2- There is no PSX this year, and all major Playstation events are over for this year. So, if there was any form of annoucement upcoming it would be either from Square Enix directly, or coming next year. As there has been no leaks aside from the occasional 'FF7R has appeared in this or that store online!" we can say that whatever triggered this reaction from a store is not coming from a reaction to rumors. Something set off multiple store fronts that -now- was the time where they could formally announce pre-orders. Which could be an distributor's internal notification of tentative shipping or avaliability dates or pricing.

3- There is no date (not even year) attached formally to any of these pre-orders, which is the largest grain of salt on this rumor. Nothing has been formally announced or leak, so even if this is 100% real, we don't know and it could easily change at any time.

All that being said, There are plenty of big titles right now and in the coming weeks and months that could be highlighted in pre-orders so there is no actual reason to Focus on Final Fantasy 7 remake right now, unless a store was trying to capitalize on reactionary pre-orders of this title over other stores. The timing of this is weird and unusual with formal e-mails being sent out, which is the main "eyebrown raiser" here.

So, right now what i would say is keep your eyes to the ground. If there is any validity to this, stores might be getting information regarding FF7Re which could confirm or disprove the idea that it is a 2019 title. We could be heading out to a Blowout at E3 or maybe something following the release of Kingdom Hearts 3, or maybe this is absolutely nothing and that is also good to know to Squash any further rumors.

Point being, this is not baseless but it is too Ethereal to base anything on. But it felt quite unusual to get multiple e-mails about this on the same day, so i wanted to put this out there.

>_< I stopped reading here....

I would love for the game to come out soon but let's maybe wait for an official thing lol.

So your whole theory is based on a low tier store e-mailing you to pre-order the game, something that you even admit is usual for games without dates.

And then a load of guessing like 'no events this year, they might just announce it'.

FF7R is most likely a PS5 launch game or even 1 year after PS5 with a Scarlett release as well.

TC.

Final Fantasy VII Remake needs to be revealed again at E3 or a Final Fantasy event.

Without a re-reveal, there is no way this game is coming out. Now, if they reveal it at E3 and say Late 2019 or spring 2020 or something. or just 2020. Okay.

.. Now about Final Fantasy XIII 4K PS4 and Xbox Edition ;)

The day stores start to accept formal pre orders it won't be for Final Fantasy VII Remake, it will be for Remake Chapter 1 or something like that, so those stores know nothing.

SE has a 5-6 year development cycle from announcement to release, KH3 followed this schedule as well. I wouldn't expect FF7 Part 1 until 2020 at the earliest.

Do you mean shops like "Fast Games", "Shopb","Zigstore"?

I don't think they know something, they just want to get you money early.

I think Uematsu accidentally said they were doing the Bra Bra concerts this year because they were supposed release the game this year. Of course it depends on how much the plans change, but I don't see what's so unlikely about 2019.
