So apparently maybe it's a bug, but fat Notte in Celery's Fate episode was removed.

So due to not offering Co-Op for their most difficult quests, we f2peasants are doomed to grind the pumpkin boss on expert forever and do that 1-time-per-day quest, is that it?

No, you're doomed to grind on expert and level the retreat to help you do the rest... in theory.

It's not as bad as it seems regarding the retreat, at least. Once you have 4 prints (which admittedly I have quicker since I got the 3* and 4* gacha prints, but in return they will be absolutely worthless once I get 2 more event prints), it's only about 100 expert runs to get the retreat to max, with special runs being worth 3 experts. That's spread out across the entire week, and the cost of building doesn't scale quickly while the building times eventually get to 6 and 12 hours, so you don't have to be constantly farming as long as you have enough for the next level.

After that... yeah, everyone should be doing the challenge anyway, and that's when it's time to get reasonably frustrated I guess.

Well, the grind is not as bad as you think.

I started with a sub-4000 Light team and broke 8600 yesterday, and can now finished the EX fight.
Damn, son, thats a lot of progress!

I am still at 8200-ish might with my light team.

I have the impression that having less than 1000 might above the suggested is not enough to beat a quest. Or I am just that bad, Lol

Hahaha I just gave Leviathan some bread and it was funny to see him wiggling around like he's shouting "YEAH BREAAAAAAD"

Also does anyone know if facilities still give their prior effect while they are being upgraded? Or did I just screw myself out of my sweet retreat attack bonus during my lunch break since it has half an hour to go now?

How far can you get in the challenge quest? Even just getting to the final wave and timing out or dying gets you about 3,000 tricker treats as a base so you can totally get a ton of goodies even if you can't actually clear the challenge.

I am managing to get to the 5th (Last) wave quite consistently. If I'm lucky with the AI not screwing me up, I can get everyone alive until it, but the boss just kick my ass easily.

Even if you can't defeat the hoard challenge I think you can get about 5-6k reward if you equip every character with Plunder Pals. Beating it gets you about 7.5k. Be sure to upgrade the sweet retreat to make things even easier.

Of course those lucky enough and/or have spent enough to get great characters and dragons will have an easier time, but even with the best characters at maxed out everything there still is a long grind towards the top rewards. Getting even half of the rewards would still be worth it.

maybe a weird question but is anyone at all happy with their layout of the castle and wanna share a screenshot of their map lol, everything is so scattered and sloppy looking at mine and it's driving me nuts

Playing the healer in onslaught and dragon trials makes them so much easier to finish. You can actually come back from mistakes and keep everyone alive. The new Halloween staff is extremely good.

Yup the Sweet Retreat helps a ton, and also not getting blown the fuck out on wave 2.

I've been able to get the boss down to about half HP with the SR at 105%, all light 8.5k team. I think if I actually used Rawn (4* Light archer) I might have a better time because this guy is so annoying to face as melee. But I have no weapons/circles for him and he's not leveled! I tried it with my Dark mage, who's reasonably powered up, but he can't do enough on the waves leading up to the boss.

I think at this point in just need light ruins. I'm stuck on orbs for a few of the mana circles for my fresh light team so I think that will help a lot.

Today i managed to get to the final wave consistedly!
i still feel like this is a wasted oportunity for Rawn >_< some of the waves are perfect to build up boost but i cant even kill one of the mobs with a force strike without being robbed by my party.
other than that... i gave up on him as leader and im using Ryozen to deal damage and pseudo tank as he has a minor regen.
I feel like maybe tomorrow i will be able to finish the challenge XD if not, i will surely by the end of the event

One thing that pisses me off is that I'm never able to place all buildings of the same group together due to the weird layout

I just group them as best I can, then fill in the extra spaces with flowers and trees! (lol)

I agree the whole thing is kind of messy overall. I think a super precise layout would look kind of weird too though.

Actually think they should remove the ogres regular swipe that covers his backside, although its easy to avoid due to the axe raise tell it wastes too much time as a melee unit and is essentially just a cheaper version of his red charge spin move.

Here's mine, all the altars are organized pretty well at the top, same with the dojos on the right and the rupie mines on the left. The middle is a few random buildings that don't really go well together but there's nowhere else to put them.

Crap tomorrow is the light ruins. Gonna have to grind the event today because I may be doing little else tomorrow except the light ruins. I blew through my entire stash and now can't upgrade the castle. Also why won't the chicken just drop the regular scale?!?

It looks like the adorable "fat Notte" sprite got removed in Celliera's story, but only if you play in English. It's still there if you set the language to Japanese.

The fact that 5-star wyrmprints pity break the 5-star characters and dragons really pisses me off. The rates in this game are ridiculous. I've done so many tenfold summons and still have not gotten a 5-star character, and only one 5-star dragon (besides Pele). I have a bunch of 5-star wyrmprints though! Yippee!

And while the main story was a little generic, I found it okay (although I'm not quite done with it). But the Halloween story was so bad it made me dislike all the characters more than I did before the Halloween story. The MC is so incredibly dull and generic. He has less personality than Link. And all the other characters are just generic anime tropes. The Halloween story was like a really bad fanservice filler episode in an anime.

I'm really trying to give this game a chance, because there are things I like about it, but it's really trying its hardest to turn me off of it. Especially the abysmal 5-star character summon rates.

FEH is such a better game, it's crazy.

Very weird, it's not like scene was insensitive or fat shaming or anything...

Yeah. Unfortunately, I could see some people interpreting it as "fat shaming". Celliera pushing Notte to slim down and build muscles could have struck some nerves. I hope it's a bug though. If it was removed because of offensive content, then that would be really disappointing to hear.

You get 1000 Elderwater for selling 4* Wyrmprints

But you only get 3000 Elderwater for getting a dupe of a 5* character?!

I think I'm having a stroke someone send help

So, my Light team has a healer (Estelle), which I am using as a leader, because I have to keep my other suicidal 3 morons alive.

I have 3 Plunder Pals equipped, while Estelle has a Destiny's Hand (Which giver her Recovery Potency +5% and Skill Prep +10%)

Should I ditch Destiny's Hand and buy a 4th Plunder?

So I just got very bored and started throwing together a Google Sheet where I can input my current Sweet Retreat level and snack count and quickly be told how many more I still need to max building it + how many more I need for the next level, as well as about how many expert/special runs I need to do to achieve those.

Is that a thing people would be interested in having a copy of, such that I should expand what info it has and what it does a bit? I've only been messing around with making it on my phone, so it only has the levels I have left right now; before I break out my laptop and add more data/functionality to it, I want to check if anyone other than me might want it so that I'm not doing something solely because I had an idea, hah.

Similarly it wouldn't be too hard to add a checklist for treats or even jacks, I guess.

It certainly doesn't help when I see some of the rolls posted here. Some people have gotten more 5* char / dragons in 1 ten-roll than in the entirety of my F2P wrymite. Speaking of which, how many of you guys are F2P / planning to stay F2P? Noticed quite a lot of people posting / recommending daily cheap diamantium rolls.

Dragalia Lost is fun, but I am really hoping they switch up their end game to be less of a DPS check. I've gotten to the end boss in Horde mode pretty consistently and with most of my party in good health, just to run afoul of that timer (and yes my facility is pretty well built at level 20) I'm already running a full Light party of Level 50s with 20-30 Mana circles unlocked and MUB 3* elementals or 4* T2 weapons. Feels like you need to be lucky enough to get some AOE or 'Gain STR on killing mobs' characters to clear the Horde mission easily. I'm just talking about clearing the mission, not getting the timer achievement. If you can survive and dodge everything the boss throws at you, you shouldn't fail the mission due to timer. Maybe its to avoid hit and run tactics, but frankly if you can keep the dodging and stuff up for 10 mins or so, you should probably be rewarded instead of penalised
Yeah, I didn't get Halloween Elisanne until my very last multi-pull (11 total), I was getting scared. I did get a duplicate 5* Nidhogg and a couple wyrmprint before then (of course) and the other Halloween characters, but I wanted Elisanne most of all. Thankfully it worked out, but it was really scary. The rates in this game really aren't the best, and the fact that a rainbow summon has a good chance to give you a wyrmprint from it. It's a real let-down.

I haven't put any money into it yet, but that's mostly because I can't (iOS and in Canada). When I can, I'll probably grab the Beginner Bundle and hope for a non-dupe Ezelith, and then save the purchased currency for daily pulls. I can see myself doing the odd guaranteed 5* summon (especially if they give us a choose ticket), but aside from that I won't be spending. I likely won't even get the Beginner Bundle if it takes a long time for the app to release in Canada so I can buy it, since a lot of the characters will likely be power-creeped by then so I'd probably be better off saving for the next ticket purchase (I assume there will be many).

The whole thing would look nicer if they gave us more decorations to work with. I'm so desperate for those that I bought every Jack-o-lantern right away at the start of the event. They make the Sweet Retreat look a lot more like Halloween (it is too Christmasy on its own). Small houses or such would be nice additions.

The best you can do is embrace the clutter and not try to group things together too much. Right now I am trying to build clusters themed around my teams, with dojos for each character surrounding elemental altars, leaving gaps for future dracoliths. It's not perfect, but it looks pretty good.

But more decorations would help.

If you have someone in your friends list (lets you use the character move 3 times) with Halloween Elly, she helps. She gives strength bonus.

So I'm really curious what teams/level/might people are beating Challenge with. Up to 8700 and while a couple ai will make it to the final (sometimes) they die there immediately. And then I just time out after dodging for a while.

Compared to being able to finish Extra Boss when I was 800 below recommended might and it's getting annoying.

I'm really upset about them removing that version of Notte. That's a bad start if we're already going to censor these kind of things. I loved that character it was so cute.

The way I'm doing it is having a whale account and a welfare-character-only F2P account to still get an idea on F2P while indulging my whale tendencies. I mostly post about the welfare account since that's more applicable to more people. I'm also considering regularly making a third account for each event to get a better idea on F2P. Like right now, my welfare-character account is already over 10K Might. It's helpful to test the limits of doing no pulls, but isn't as applicable for newer players or those without as much free time.

While getting just to the last wave without killing the boss isn't ideal, you still get a decent amount of rewards to still progress decently through the treasure trade and tricker treat rewards. Like, I got 4 copies of Plunder Pals on the first day just running the horde mode, never killing the boss and just making it to the last wave with all my AI dead most of the time. I just think about it in terms of what I personally can take away from this event once it's over. The Plunder Pals seems way better than the last Event Wyrmprint, and you can get 50K Mana off the treasure trade alone which seems great. Everyone talks about being mana-starved and this event gives quite a bit of it along with other stuff like Elwater or Consecrated Water regularly.

I haven't spent any money yet, I have been extremely lucky to A) Have time to play a lot and gather a fair amount of wyrmite, and B) Have very good luck with my pulls and get a Lily and a Halloween Elisanne.

Yet for some reason I am considering buying the starter pack. No matter how well I'm doing I see people with stronger characters and feel like I'm missing out. Really need to keep this urge under control and keep this a fun free game.

I guarantee the people showing stronger characters spend more time in the game than you for their stronger characters with slightly more luck, less so from any single purchase. Like, the people using Xander to clear horde mode have spent ungodly amounts of time learning his kit and playing optimally as well as spending a long time using Xander in the last raid event either from EX raids or from going for the achievement. While money can help, the biggest difference is usually time spent, since no matter how much money you spend, you can't do nearly as much in the game if you don't spend a lot of time playing it.

Was able to beat the final wave of horde mode for the first time today. Not sure if I just need more practice or simply got really lucky. None of the AI died until the last wave and even there only one died.

Well, tomorrow I will farm light ruins. I will just put all my Stamina in that and use wings to summon the Extra battle and maybe fight Jupiter. But I will definitly farm 100-200+ light orbs. Should be enough for one week I hope... xD

Yes. The more snacks you can pull out of every battle the better off you will be on the heal is pretty negligible. Speaking of, I wouldn't control your healer either. I control my best damage dealer and rely on friend assist healers to keep the chucklefucks alive.

Geez, I didn't know how ridiculous Xander was until I tried him on my GF's account. Was able to get the 2 minute challenge done in a couple attempts, I can't even do that on my account. Using both Xander and Lily compared to what I have makes the game so easy.
