Can't recommend the game enough, loved the story and the soundtrack.
Yeah, I never played the second one but played a lot of the first on PS1 and definitely remember it being there.
I think you're right, What I Got was in the first game, Doin' Time in the second one. I played them both at the same time and they blend together in my mind. But I strongly associate Sublime with the series.

Man, NCAA 06 had a seriously great soundtrack. Bad Religion, The Clash, Guided by Voices, Lush, Mother Love Bone, The Pixies...

Haha, yeah. Due to the length of that demo, I assumed Rapper's Delight was just two minutes long for many, many years.
When the MLB 2K series was still around I had MLB 2K7 and I swear I heard Nirvana's "Breed" like ten times a session.
Every licensed track from Life Is Strange is impossible to detach from the memories I have from the game (my stomach will even sink depending on the song because of the scene it was used in).
And yeah, EA and Activision combined pretty much shaped the music too from the late 90s into the 00s with their sports and racing games.

Before Deadpool came out i teared up every time i heard this song because of EBA.
One time at work it came up on an oldies radio station and i had to cover myself so hard so nobody noticed, would be really weird to explain why the song was making me tear up.

And, well, my next example might not really count because this track wasn't licensed for this game, but Excite Truck on the Wii featured custom music support, so my buddy and I loaded up a ton of dirty rap MP3s for the game, and now whenever I hear or am reminded of any Three Six Mafia song my mind goes straight to Excite Truck. This one in particular tho:

Turn up the Radio for Alpha Protocol with regards to that on particularly memorable boss battle.
Technically? Hard to believe people would think R&RR instantly upon hearing any of the original versions of the music featured there.
In France it was the Theme of Road to World Cup 98... the one that released 6 months after 98 iirc:)
It gave me headaches when i searched for the title of the song a few years ago xD Nobody had the proper track !
edit: it was a friggin kickass intro; for the little story it's the only FIFA game i ever bought... and not too long after we were champions... i was the lucky charm.

Yeah, the original LIS soundtrack is GOAT.
I bought the game digitally on Steam and was heartbroken when I realized that I couldn't pick up the OST (licensed tracks) anywhere.
I think they later came out with a physical edition with the OST included.
Still I had trouble coughing up $40 for what was essentially just a music cd.
Soon after I saw a listing in eBay for $20. I pulled the trigger and contacted the seller in NYC, telling him I only wanted the music disc and that he could keep the rest, lol.
Still rocking it on my iPhone to this day (heart Mountains, Something Good, Crosses)
