Just saw this at my local store today, decided to pick it up. Glad I skipped the DS1 and DS2 Remasters, though I would have picked this up either way as I'm a sucker for steelbooks. I've already played all of them to death, but now's a good time as any to roll new characters again to tide me over while waiting for Sekiro. Anyone else picking up the trilogy? Souls burnout is a real thing, but I think the packaging is nice.

Edit: Just an FYI, I'm in Southeast Asia and the item above is Region 3

Link me to The Flame if old.

Well I would have definitely picked it up if it was available in Europe :(. I already have all the games but really wanted this collection!

Waiting for my Amiibo (damn Bandi Namco store overcharging, but was sold out everywhere else) and the switch version, I'd have bought this for my DS collection, but is US only :(

Will probably pick it up before the end of the year. I had it on preorder but I canceled because my backlog is pretty big as it is.

I'd have already grabbed this and investing in the games for the first time if they were all X Enhanced.

Played an hour or two of Dark Souls 3 because I loved Bloodborne.

Would love to give them another chance.

I personally think Bloodborne is different enough from Souls to not put them together under one umbrella, though I love both games either way. Was there anything in particular that wasn't grabbing you when you tried DS3?

I have too many games to play at the moment so I canceled my preorder. They said this was a limited time thing so I hope I can still get a copy down the line when I eventually buy it.

Definitely interested in grabbing it, so far I've played Demons Souls, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls 3 so this is still a deal for me to get all of the first two plus dlc for 3.

The package also contains a code for the "Game of Chess" PS4 theme. I was pleasantly surprised when I didn't see a code for Ashes of Alandriel and Ringed City. I was expecting it to be a separate download, so it's nice to know that all of the discs are feature complete.

This seems as good of a place to ask this question...for those that have played all 3 Dark Souls, which one from purely and combat/gameplay perspective would you play first? I bought Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin on sale, but didn't start it after hearing it is the worst one, as far as combat goes? Should I get Remastered or 3?

Earthbound
$80 USD.

Might buy it, don't have 1 or 2 on the PS4, but have them on PC.

If it hits like $30 or $40 on black friday or cyber monday I'll bite maybe.

I would play them in order tbh. Remastered still holds up IMO and 3 is best played after 1 for the references it has. 3 is also the fastest Souls game by far.

Dark Souls 3 probably in terms of overall polish, balance, and new mechanics. It feels the best gameplay-wise.

Dark Souls 2 had more bad hitboxes, Adaptability to increase i-frames is a bad design decision, and from my experience DS2 was more likely to swallow inputs. Enemy tracking is pretty bad as well and will track your position mid-swing, usually catching you at the end of a roll. Combine this with the horrible i-frames at low ADP and it's a formula for a bad time early game. The only thing I would give it credit for was powerstancing (wielding 2 different weapons on each hand).

Dark Souls 1 is easy to cheese as enemies are vulnerable to backstabs and are generally weak to strafing. Dark Souls 2 solved this by increasing enemy tracking (bad IMO), and Dark Souls 3 gave enemies flanking attacks.

Well maybe I'll try 3 first since it'll be easier to find on sale for cheap, and I don't care about the backstory much.

Nothing in particular. I just didn't get pulled in, and had no motivation to go back to it. Sometimes, I believe that genuinely amazing games slip by me merely because they arrive in a season of my life that doesn't give me much opportunity to get immersed in a new game.

Canceled my pre-order yesterday. I want the Steelbook but already having all the other games in their remaster/complete edition, I'm hoping to be able to pick this up down the road after a couple price drops (if it hasn't sold out by then).

Don't think this has been posted yet, rumor from the reliable German gaming magazine M!Games

M!Games said:
[...]a release of the trilogy hasn't been confirmed yet for Europe. But we heard from a reliable source that Europe will get a version of the "Dark Souls Trilogy" and that this release will even be more elaborate than the US version. While nothing has been confirmed thus far, it will be worth the wait!

Was thinking about importing the US version, but (if true) this sounds like an even better option for Europe. It really wouldn't make a lot of sense for them to skip Europe.

That twisted blade the knight wear on the third picture is the DS3 Firelink Greatswsord ?

I have never seen this artwork, seems a twin of the DS3 knight but he is left-handed here (or the picture is inverted)

On the main DS3 artwork I think he had a Lotric Knight Sword with 110 crit :o)
