Man, that looks sharp. A good chunk of my enjoyment is just the art that goes into these games.
I tried going to my local place but they said they couldn't sell it to me until tomorrow. It was worth a shot.

How much effort, time, money does it take to port items over from V? You can see in this image that a lot of items didn't get ported over; I can understand 8 pairs of glasses being redundant and unnecessary, but would it actually been a meaningful drain on resources to toss them in?
The issue is, it really shouldn't be. And when they're already straight porting assets, it can't actually be a prohibitive cost to just include all the prior items.
you are lucky to have sc6 at all, at this point imma just happy to take what i can get. rest can be dlc, i dont mind (judging by 200 items in season pass you can safely guess those 200 items will be missing recycled ones)

Wait is it confirmed the season pass will have that many CAS items? I thought it was just two "armor" sets?
I don't like subscribing to the belief that we should be grateful or lucky for whatever we got. Namco is a corporation, not my friend. And while I love SoulCalibur, I'm not going to be thankful or lucky for whatever they give us without taking into account what they actually are giving us.
There's only 100 items in the season pass AFAIK. Regardless, there is no telling it will be all the old items or not. And even if they are old items, it might still not be all the old items. And on top of that, they really shouldn't be charging extra money for literal exact assets from a near 7 year old game.

I was under the impression that it was two 50 piece armor sets, for 100 additional pieces total. But these pieces are very possibly more old ones from past titles rather than brand new.

I play the japanese version, the text language is in japanese, announcer is in English(Story and fight) but fighter voice is in japanese.
I have only done Arcade mode with Talim and I didn't fight Geralt at all.
It's basically the same as V's, down to the glitches and parts -- but with less parts, plus the new ability to select from 16 different "races" as a base for the character.
I'll never understand the "But it's a budget title" excuse(?), especially if it will not be sold for a budget price. The regular price will still be 60$, and the game should be worth that price.
Looks like they will be reselling us the same CAS items that were either already included in SCIV/SCV or that we already bought as DLC in SC IV/V, which is even worse.
Features wise, it's as good as V's, with a few minor improvements. Parts wise, it is pretty lacking, and is missing more than half of V's parts.

for 60$ you get 21 characters (22 with tira), that alone is more than sfv or tekken 7 launched with (t7 in arcades), two story modes, character creation (although a bit limited) etc
game is well worth 60$
Remembe that time when the number 370 was being thrown around as the number of pieces we'd have for this game? That felt kinda small back then because it wasn't more than SCV. My god that number would seem good now. I thought that a worst case scenario would be this game having just as much pieces as the last game, because I wanted expansion. Instead we get just half. I never saw that coming. I saw some RPCS3 4K footage of Soulcalibur 5 yesterday. Thing is, the assets looked decent enough with decent resolution. Textures were sharp enough. I actually think they could just port the assets as is, and they would look pretty much on par with full HD resolution in relation to new SCVI assets.
Bamco has been really bad at customizations this gen. Both Tekken 7 and now Soulcalibur 6 were clear steps backwards in terms of customization. Well at least in my opinion. My creativity depends on amount of usable items, and the low amount in SCVI means that I would hit the ceiling very soon. Also I have not seen anyone have proper amount of equipment on lizardman race. I assume that's because almost everything is unusable for that race, which makes the race obsolete because everyone will have the same looking, mostly naked lizardman with different skin. I remember Okubo saying in that interview how there are actually less items now, but there are the races. Man fuck the races. They look so useless.
This brings back memories of Soul Calibur 4 where the guaranteed Apprentice fight in Arcade mode often wrecked me.
No boss in the arcade mode, it's just 8 random fights. Didn't try after the day one patch thi, it may have changed since then. Arcade don't give enough points, I'm not touching it again.

It would seems Namco built in a contingency plan to milk the shit out of the core audience if the game doesn't perform well.
Im really torn. I want to support SoulCalibur and help keep the franchise alive, and I've been dreaming of SC6 for years, but I can't throw $60 around lightly and there's quite a few games I want more at the moment.
