i turned the game on again cuz i wanted to play even though theres nothing to do except hunt question marks since i got the plat...

and there is a really suspicious cave all the way in the north in Malis called Myson Cave, and i'm not sure what to make of it. kassandra doesnt say anything when i go in there. the entrance to it is one of those cracks in the wall that she has to force her way through

there are two things down here:
-a blacksmith just like the ones you find in the city. he has his own forge and anvil, works just like the others, and doesnt say anything out of the ordinary... which is weird considering where he is and what he's next to, which is...
-another area with a crawlspace that you can get into. it leads into a room thats made of the same stuff as the leonidas spear upgrade room and the other mythological locations. all it has in it is a chest that looks like those futuristic chests from the myth locations. it just had a bunch of materials in it when i opened it

there was nothing else that i saw... but it was strange
Yeah that cave is weird. Feels like they had plans for it but they got scrapped. Maybe it'll get used in the DLC.

Won the Raging Bull ship design. Nice to have an unaffiliated black sails design (since the other one I found is basically you sailing Xenia's colors). Now to find the appropriate figurehead...

First time I went back to Kephallonia in... 75 hours? Probably more. Island is smaller than I remembered it to be. Cousin Roman Markos wasn't there. A certain goat was...

Which just proves Markos was full of shit even with the eye. 2750 drachmae? That's pocket change. I currently have 69 (teehee) times as much in my wallet.

And you can't keep it either because it's labeled as trade goods. So much for sentimental value.

On another topic: I'm still amazed by the animations and daily routines the NPCs have been given. I ran past that very deep pond on the way to Sami and I noticed a woman walking to the shore, sitting down and going through this whole routine of drinking and washing. Stuff like that makes the game world feel so much more alive. You just have to pause and look for a bit.

There's a minotaur figurehead
That's the one. I wonder if it's near Krete somewhere...

(No need to tell me the location, I want to discover this one by myself.)

2. why is Pericles spelled with a K in the game?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pericles

I'd guess it's because most of our history of this time and place comes through Roman sources, who used much the same alphabet we do today and tended to spell a hard 'k' sound with 'c's, whereas Greeks had/have their own alphabet and used 'k's (or rather kappas). See also: Herakles/Hercules, Makedonia/Macedonia, Sokrates/Socrates, etc.

Is there any reason to kill every single cultist? Seems like a lot of work... Also what's the point of upgrading spear to level 6? Am I going to get more story out of it?

2 questions

1. any difference between sinking a ship or boarding it and taking it over with regards to better loot?

If you board a ship before sinking it, you can loot at least one chest. Sinking a ship without first doing so just nets you crafting resources.

Edit: Also worth noting if that if you cleave a ship in half (t-bone it) specifically , you get more resources than you otherwise would.

In terms of gameplay benefits, Lv 5 is the most important one for the spear. I think you get a couple more pips on your Adrenaline Meter once you get to Lv 6, but I'm not sure on that. Killing off an entire branch of the Cult will unlock a Legendary armour set, so that's good incentive, and there's a little bit of story once you find out who the leader of the Cult is. The Cult is one of the three main pillars of the overall story, but it's probably the least interesting one, so I probably wouldn't recommend sinking hours into it unless you're going for full completion.

God this game is massive. 20 hours in and I have only explored 3 areas.

I am level 18. Is it worth leveling Legendary gear every level??

No, it'll be a huge waste of money and resources. You're going to get so much loot as you play, and a Lv 22 common item can often outstrip a Lv 20 Legendary. Best to just use a weapon you like until something better comes along and then switch to that.

This game has an excellent OST.
Soundquality could be better though, i have to turn up my volume to 11 or 12, other games are between 8-9. It's a pretty "silent" game.

Soundquality is such an important element, yet soundmixing in games is still more miss than hit. I honestly do not understand why.

P.s.: the thunders and storm sound great though.

The audio is mixed extremely low, it's not good. I have to increase the volume on my amp by almost 25% to get it to a similar level to most other games.

Hmm. Thought, the Olympian Gift gives a random epic or legendary item, but instead, I just go a rare ship design.

Finished the "Kassandra" arc of the main story (ending spoilers)

Got the ending where Alexios kills Myrrine and you duke it out, and it felt strangely satisfying and impactful. I think I would have been disappointed had I got the "big happy family" ending, Myrrine's death had some serious weight to it.

The overall story is great albeit there were a few scenarios that felt awkward and rushed. Going to finish up the other two arcs hopefully in the next two days, gotta move onto SCVI and then Red Dead 2.

Perikles' symposium was great.
Drunken sing-alongs with Evripedes, orgies with Alkibiades and a bit of serious main quest business dealt with.
Good times.

Love Kassandra's exasperated facial expressions when she's listening to Sokrates.

I'm really enjoying the whole Cultist thing as well. I love how they truly feel like a secret society, hidden amongst every profession, higher and lower classes, and the way you can hunt them or even simply run across them unexpectedly in side-quests. It's very well done.

The game continues to improve dramatically, for me, the deeper I get into it's runtime.

The main quest is starting to feel a bit tedious for me... I love the game, but there are too many fetch quests, and too many "meet a new person, and in order to gain his trust, do 3 missions"

And the game feels too easy, not the battle themselves, but the climbing, everything is automatic, you never have to think about how to climb something or how you're going to get somewhere. I miss the big cathedrals in AC2 that were huge enigmas.

And at one point, there's a "puzzle" with mirrors, that was just ridiculous, I'm sure it's one of the only puzzles in the game, and it was clearly with a "let's not slow down the game too much" mind

Did the symposium the other day it was really well done. I love quests without combat that push characterization and rely on writing.
The facial expression of Kassandra as she fills up Euripides' cup lol.

I'm loving what they did with Sokrates. He brings up those questions what you expect from him.
The amount and detail of NPCs in Quests is a huge strong point of Odyssey. Kudos Ubisoft!

Not killing all the cultists would make the story feel pretty incomplete IMO. Although it becomes pretty obvious who the final person is, you're not really finishing the game unless you do that. Same goes for all the 'Odysseys' that show up on the right hand side of the quest menu.

I think I am doing something wrong here, but i cant for the life of me understand what it is.

My warrior damage is just donkey poo...

I am level 43 everything I wear is warrior oriented gear (with the proper engravings) and still my spear and sword damage is just shit. On the stats I have 6K warrior damage and the assassin damage is 60K...

Is there a way to actually have your melee damage be worth a crap?

Are you referring to the damage of your Warrior abilities or your light and heavy attacks as well? I believe the light and heavy attack damage is modified only by the +% damage to swords/spears/daggers engravings that you can put on your gear. Also, at level 43 I assume you have your tier 3 abilities? I found once i hit those tier 3 abilities my damage really took off.

Because, imo, you're either assassin/melee or hunter/melee. Melee is basically just a backup plan when your assassination doesnt go well. You're not suppose to battle them all out but whittle them one on one and as cleanly as possible. That's why merc system is added, it's to discourage you to go all warrior mode in everything. They still want to retain 'Assassin' in assassins creed.

Don't compare it to assassin damage, that's tuned to your assassinate ability. The only in-combat ability that uses assassin damage is Hero Strike. Warrior and Hunter damage is always going to be a lot lower because it's not meant to one-shot enemies. Just stack warrior damage and experiment with the skill tree.

You can actually one shot enemies on Hunter build, it's supposed to be assassination but via long range imo.

Thanks guys. So apparently I aint doing anything wrong it is just that the game is built like this. All with level scaling and such. Feels weird though to invest in anything warrior related both in terms of appearance (being covered in plate and acting like an assassins is eh) and actual benefits. So I am going full assassin gear with some hunter mix.
