Right now I'm really enjoying the Rampart and the Titan. Is there an SMG worth using over either of those guns? If not, is there a better gun out there I should use over the Rampart? I'm tempted to try out the Augur DMR

Also, Heist is fun as shit. Me and 3 buddies racked up a 25ish game win streak yesterday by only using maxed out strife pistols and seekers lol

Wide open spaces are your friend. If you're getting overwhelmed and are in a big space, try running in circles along the edge of the area to get a crowd of them behind you. Makes it a bit easier to get them out of your way, and lets you start mowing them down. That's how it was in the other games at least, not sure if they've made it harder to get a crowd going or not in this one.

EDIT: Also not sure if there are even any big spaces to do this in, lol. I haven't gotten to play the new maps yet. Should be able to in a few spots in Classified and Blood of the Dead though.

Thanks, any suggested Perks or Elixirs to take and what map should I be working on first?

What do you have to do for the technical camos? Is it like no attachments, no scorestreaks like the previous games?

I mentioned this earlier but for SMGs: Grab the Spitfire, attach laser sight, fast mags, and extended mags, alongside gung-ho and lightweight and watch how fast you destroy people with hipfire. The thing is devastating up close, I rarely ever lose to ARs if I'm within like 15 feet of them.

And I don't even have laser sight 2 or the dexterity perk yet...

Does this mean that the attachment that increases headshot damage is useless? Or is going for headshots only worth it if you have that attachment?
HC bullets increases your chance for headshots. This is non existent in Blackout however. Headshot damage is largely useless because even if you hit them in the head you aren't guaranteed that it will be a headshot. Instead, you have a minor chance of it registering a headshot and even then it will only grant you a 10% damage increase. Pro players are saying not to even bother going for headshots because of this because the target you need to hit is obviously much harder to hit, wont guarantee that the game registers the shot to the head anyway, and even if all of the above happen only grants an additional 10 percent increase in damage for that shot. Its just not worth it.

No plans, which is also my biggest concern. As soon as map 4 comes from PUBG, a lot of PUBG players will wander back to PUBG. The map fatigue will kick in, but I feel they'll just hold out until next year to announce a new COD and new BR. They will update the map like Fortnite, though Im unsure what they can really make it as exciting since Fortnite changes are more significant and game changing
Agreed with this, which sucks because the foundation here is probably the best BR experience out there. Idk why they would cut campaign to create an online BR mode only to not commit to updating it regularly. I feel the opinion on the game is that its also the best BR out there right now so it sucks that it might die down in a month due to fatigue and no updates.

Wow! That's crazy! Thanks for the update.

I def see many jumping back to PUBG then. What a shame! Hopefully they realize the mistake they are making with only offering 1 map.

I think the current plan is updating the current map throughout the year, or at least there have been hints at that by some of the developers. So it's going more the Fortnite route than the PUBG route.

There are 4 shots in the pump shotgun. In order for it to be effective, you need the barrel choke, but the barrel choke needs the long barrel attached. That's both your attachment slots, and costs 3 points.

But then you may also need the fast mags and maybe rapid fire unless you want to get caught with your pants down with the slow reloading, so you need 2 wildcards and 2 more attachments, which is another 4 points. Though truthfully, you do only need that barrel choke to destroy with.

It's a fun gun, and while it's annoying to die to, it seems like it has a high cost. Does it 1 shot armour? Pretty sure it does but not sure
This is true. I don't really mind it right now but I feel like once people discover how good it can be, half the people are going to be running it. These 2 guys on PC yesterday were destroying everything, we had no chance.

I don't even know if SMG's need a buff, I would say ARs just need a nerf at short range. Some guy was running around with spitfire and hung go yesterday and went like 40-3. I don't want everyone running around hip firing SMG's, especially on PC where it seems like people move around more.

Dealing with trip mines at the very late game of Blackout is annoying. Seriously such a cheap way to die.

Finally came across someone playing with the dual UZIs and fucking sheesh, that thing is so getting nerfed. They killed me multiple times from an absurd distance considering they're hipfired SMGs.

Interestingly, it still doesn't seem to be a mega superpowered spray to win weapon. The guy played very well in the match I joined during the last 20 seconds from what I can tell, he had a ratio of 5.50, but the very next match where I played against him they only ended with 1.58 and I actually managed to win maybe 40% of our close quarter encounters vs. him with my laser-sighted Spitfire.

So yeah, very strong, but not 100% guaranteed to win in close range. Super excited to unlock them though. 8 levels to go!

Yeah, I kinda hate how that's the only SMG to use. Weapon balancing should be where I can use SMG I want, they all have some sort of perk to it I guess. But just to use the Spitfire because it's the best SMG, I would hate that.

I'm not sure, sorry. I haven't gotten to play enough of Zombies in this game yet to see what changes they've made to perks and everything else. Also haven't gotten to play IX or the cruise map, though they may be more beginner-friendly than the other two (The original version of Classified that was in the first Black Ops is notorious for mostly being cramped and small, which made it more difficult to play).

Could try checking out /r/codzombies over on Reddit. I haven't been there in a while, but someone may have put together some guides.

I just hope they add different times of day and weather conditions. The same map at night and raining would have a whole other feel to it.

I continue to think multiplayer is fantastic as a pretty casual player. I love the radar changes and it just seems much more methodical over all.

I'm holding off on season pass but I have a hard time believe next years entry will top this.

Anyone else having a sound issue where it sounds like the headshot sound goes off but you don't get a headshot? I swear half of my kills give off the noise.

I probably won't consider a CoD unless made by Treyarch. Annual releases are tough for me, I hate eanring things in MP for a game for them to gone when I start a new CoD, so I think playing one dev's CoDs for 3 years is better ROI for me.

I would put a lot of money on next year's cod not being close to this one. IW and SH are just awful. It might be harsh, but Treyarch is the only cods I buy now.

Yea, its a but more methodical. But not too much.

I love that firefights can we sort of "reset" by both players dodging into cover and rehealing. Makes things much more intense.

So, after close to a week of being out, what's the general consensus so far as to who the top three Specialists are and why? Ditto, what are the best guns as a whole and what are the best per gun type?

I keep hearing the ICR is OP? Is it? I think I see more people using the Rampart.

Next time CoD is going to be any good is when Treyarch releases Black Ops 5. I don't want to call IW and SHG's CoD games trash... But they're kinda trash.

BO3 showed me Treyarch makes mistakes too, though.

Does Blackout have "legendary" weapons and such like in Fortnite or is the purpose of finding loot just finding weapons you like or good attachments/perks?

I think specialists are so well balanced that there isn't an out and out "best" but different ones shine in different maps and situations.

As for ICR, that's weaker than both Rampart and Vapr or whatever it's called. It's only popular because it's the starting weapon.

Specialists for me are - firebreaker, Ajax, battery (HM - nomad). All seem good depending on your playstyle though.

Weapons - the meta seems to be ARs, all of them are good imo. First 2 lmgs are good, and a couple SMG's are alright. Sniping is really easy - at least on PC, I assume it's easy on consoles too though, and shotguns can be viable with the right attachments. The augur dmr is really good also.

Anyone try the 3 burst and/or 4 burst tactical rifles ?

Anyone feel like they're leveling up super slow? I'm level 20 and it just seems like it's a crawl to get higher levels if you're not constantly playing for hours on end.

I just unlocked the Strobe Light mod for the SG-12 shotgun. It disables ADS but puts a light on the shotgun to blind people.

This is how it looks from my perspective:

And here's how it looks from the enemy perspective, lmao:

Always wondered what it looked like since I've never came across it yet. Now I'm tempted to grind out the AA12.

Look forward to level 35+ lol. Now it's slow.

I'm currently level 44 with about 12 hours of playtime, so I don't think it's too bad at all.

What game modes are you playing? Also try our different guns as you get xp for unlocking attachments and camos and completing challenges.

Is there anyway to quickly cycle through your Lethals in BlackOut? Kinda tedious to have to pull up the quickmenu thing, go all the way over to the right, select it and hit square. Like hitting right on the dpad would be ideal for lethals, but that only does the pointless spray tag. And hittng right for swapping med packs. I mean I guess it could be hold right to tag, and tap right to cycle lethals. But dout it would happen.

Maybe this has been answered..

But is BO planning to add maps thoughout the year? I can see BO getting fatigue with the current map very quick.

Thoughts?

The other popular Battle Royale games have shown no sign of fatigue and they've (mostly) been on one map. I think they take the Fortnite approach with the Blackout map and have it evolve over time.

All of that being said, i can play on the Blackout map forever. It's BY FAR the most well designed Battle Royale map. It's the first map that doesn't feel like a hodgepodge of random buildings.

Headshots does nothing in this game

Jesus Christ. There is a video on this page that shows headshots do more damage.

Tried Heist and not feeling it either. I have to say I also think the Best Play playing after every single goddamn round gets old SO fast.
