Really enjoyed this episode. And it's portrayal of most of the Titans, especially Robin.
The worst part about it was Starfire. Weren't some of the early reviews saying she was the best? Did they have access to more than the first couple episodes? Wandering around Europe killing German mafia with no memory is not what I anticipated for this character.

Honestly the "fuck Batman" line isn't really edgy but completely unearned.
I can see it happening if it were in the comics and the fight was like narrated by Robin's inner monologue (the line is probably a natural conclusion to such a thing, considering we end up learning he hasn't put on the costume for over a year and everything). The alley fight was fine but it definitely didn't earn the line at the end.
Dunno really what they could have done except they kinda insisted on it being said.
Also the funny thing is the alley has security cams so why would you initiate a drug deal there? Lol

Joined but it put me in twice as Effect and NeoStar9. So if you see a second Effect there in the list that's me.
The Fuck Batman line is unearned when it is said, but meant to drag the audience along to figure out what Dick's deal is... we are meant to understand by his speech to his "partner" at Detroid PD, he had a falling out with Batman/Bruce because he is becoming too much like him... too hardcore... as evidenced by his first fight shown earlier, and Robin is no joke... they looked at him as like a joke like most people may think of...

I...really enjoyed everything about it, surprising nobody. Loved the first fight scene with Robin and how nobody cared about him while they were looking for Batman, how brutal everything can be, everything to do with Raven's angstiness, and Starfire's actor did great! Still not sold on her hair and outfit in the slightest, but I can 100% buy her as Starfire.
Really looking forward to the second episode!

The production value is atrocious and it just feels like a poor man's Marvel Netflix show. It's edgy Runaways with a lot of shadows to hide how fucking cheap the show is.

I like the actress and the effect for Starfire, although I thought the amnesia plot was dumb. If you're starting with an amnesia plot, how low are you going to go?
Not a huge fan of the actress playing Raven. I do like Dick, even if he needs a xanax. And I like the idea of Detective Dick. Meh, on Changeling. Didn't really see enough to know whether he can act, but the old school were tiger transformation was cheesy.

Grimdark for Titans? Unless you are basing them solely on their cartoon versions, Titans have been known to be on the darker side of the spectrum.
Yeah, grimdark even for Titans. I've been reading them since the 70's and they've ranged from light hearted to dark, but rarely shoot your mother in the head, grind someone's face off, burn everyone in the room dark.
I think Starfire looked great...better than the set photos.

The game is Crystal Castles. I played it as a kid in the arcades and have long wondered what game it was, until this show used it and the name "Bentley Bear" enabled me to Google it.
Edit:It is not on the PS4, but technically he could be emulating it and using the PS4 controller on a PC unless you spotted a console.

This show is tonally weird as fuck. Not unwatchable or anything, but it tries to marry the violence and gritty urban pseudo-realism of the Marvel Netflix series to the more overtly fantastical, comic-book-y aspects of the CW shows, and so far, the combination is just not working for me.
Looking forward to seeing more of the costumes for sure.
We're just one episode in, but I'm finding that to be a nice combo because it's not really like any other superhero show we have currently. It's kind of a tight rope that they have to walk to make this show work, though, so I think the next few episodes will start to tell the story on how it will all come together.

DCEU are the movies... however, SYFY's Krypton is a weird anomaly that seems to draw a lot from Man of Steel lore.

Apparently thats not StarFires Final Costume either, so I read somewhere (unless maybe thats not until Season 2 but they already have designs for it) so I am going to assume Ravens will change too.
I always chuckle at people moaning about the costumes with these Comicbook adaptations, unless of course it's a one and done thing, like there's probably 50+ Superhero movies with at least half or more of those with Sequels and TV series, where the characters start off with one suit and eventually go through maybe one or more better suits but sometimes 3 or more variations before it looks right.
How do people still not figure that out? Baffling.
