My wallet is glad I don't have any Sega games because my Super Nt is absolutely amazing

Love Analogue

I don't know if it would be feasible to emulate the SegaCD to play ISOs off an SD card like some of you are hoping for.
The SegaCD has a lot of extra hardware in it, and while I'm sure by itself none of that is too complicated, I assume that resources on the FPGA are limited, and I have no idea if it could pull off the Genesis CPU and the SegaCD CPU at the same time. Similar to how it can't do the 32X CPU at the same time currently.
Hopefully they can find a way to do it with a Sega CD attached, rather than trying to make the SG do it all. I'd love to not have to worry about the laser or some other part of the drive crapping out on me.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they made a separate Sega CD clone one year later, why is it obvious they won't?

So their cost in producing a system with a disc drive would probably jump up pretty dramatically (especially their first time out). Also, pretty much all of Analogue's products have just worked right out of the box and the chances of that continuing if they made systems with a disc drive would be pretty low (especially their first time out). There's so many potential points of failure in a disc drive that don't exist in the kinds of systems they currently make. Not that Analogue's current products are incapable of failing but a disc drive would definitely increase failure rates on their products. Also, I feel like if they had plans to make their own Sega CD they would've announced it with the Mega SG like they did with the other adapters.

I think post Mega SG Analogue would be more inclined to go back and make plastic Neo Geo FPGA console, a plastic Analogue Nt and I think they'll tackle a bunch of other cartridge based systems before they ever tackle something with a disc drive. Not to say that they won't ever do a system with a disc drive BUT i think even when they do go down that road it will be to make a FPGA PS1 console. Still, I think that's pretty far off.

Smoke Monster is a retro focussed / hardware youtube and ex rom pirate, he has absolutely no part in or the skill set to develop fpga cores.

I think you know what I'm saying. Smoke Monster has been used as the go between for the Super Nt "jailbreaking" stuff and I think that'll continue with this system.

I ordered the USA model by mistake; was planning to go JP. But the more I think about it, the more okay I am with this. I only ever had a US model Genesis in the first place.

FWIW I similarly messed up with my super nt order and despite their FAQ saying no cancellations they still did it for me. So once the site is no longer on fire might be worth reaching out if you decide you want to cancel and re-order.

For the jailbreak firmware sure but if Kevtris develops a Mega CD core (which given its complexity and space left on the FPGA to implement it is highly unlikely) then there is zero chance of them distributing it via a jailbroken firmware and not officially.

This is wesome. As someone who has never bought a analogue-machine before, can it play PAL, NTSC-jp and NTSC-us?

Shutting off wifi and using LTE on my phone worked. Thanks for the tip. Order in.

Using a VPN with a US IP I was able to load the website

Are they really filtering out international buyers? If yes that's so lame

I think the site replication is just on fire in general. Like why wifi would fail and LTE would work is beyond my understanding of network engineering. It isn't even slow over LTE, the site is incredibly responsive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can't load the controllers page. I need 2 if only to use them on this and my X'eye.

I grew up with SNES, so this one doesn't appeal to me as much, but it looks pretty neat. My Analog NT arrived the other week, still need to get some carts and controllers for it.

$50 to the uk too. Analogue shipping has always felt rather scammy

Controllers are sold via Amazon. The link on their store is just a redirect to Amazon's listing US listing
Not sure about other countries.

Spent a while trying to find a place to actually order the controllers through them, that amazon US redirect is the only thing I see.

which is weird because they talk about a "special reduced price" for the controllers.

First of all: I love fpga but don't run a website with such a thing.
Second: I would love to see some open source fpga emulation going on but I know it's an insane amount of work so they deserve all the money.
Third: of course when I just bought an 8bitdo controller, they show me this thing. I guess I have to buy another controller from them if it works with PC.
Forth: I think I have to buy this thing :-(

Ordered from my phone. Glad to see shipping is still only about $20 for me instead of the crazy prices other people get.

Hilariously enough the furthest I've gotten is in my car's web browser. When I click buy I get the 403 error message
