Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3 are coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today

Very nice.
These were technically impressive ports, but frame rate really took a hit to retain as much of the graphical fidelity of the PC versions as possible.
Prime candidates for the BC treatment, especially on a One X the frame rate should be improved. I can't wait to see comprison footage.

One is great. Semi open world.
2 is good. Linear levels though.
3 is... 3. Story takes a nosedive on 3 too.

Yes. The console port of the first game makes some visual and control changes (running on a later version of Cryengine than the original) but aside from a cut flight level it's the same game.
The first Crysis remains one of the best FPS I've ever played.
The sequels aren't bad they just don't feel as expansive.
Crysis 1 is like a refinement of the original Far Cry, gameplay wise.
I would say a game like Titanfall 2 is very similar, strong narrative and great characters and scenarios.
If these aren't X Enhanced then I lose all faith in BC games getting the treatment at all going forward. These games are made to be X enhanced!
Fuck yeah, can't wait to try out Crysis on the X. Might pick up 2 and 3 if they're on sale, too.

Console Crysis 1 is wack. OG Crysis n Warhead are so good tho. Still some of the best action in that genre. Shame that series got butchered with Crysis 2 n 3.

EA had a staunch "no remasters" policy for several years.
Crysis 3 does have some outstanding acting, particularly from Psycho, and the ending is pure "remember what it means to be human" storytelling magic. Personally I think Crysis 3 just confuses people because of how it rushes through so many plot points at such a breakneck speed. But the story itself is very sound.
Crysis 2 is the most consistent game in the trilogy, though, 3 was rushed to release in 24 months with staff being diverted to Ryse and Homefront.
Hopefully Crysis 1 gets a fair shake now. EA sent it out to die. 2011 console audiences weren't ready for 100% digital games.
What happened to X Enhancements for Xbox 360 games? Second (and latest) wave was in march or april. We are already in mid-october.

Crysis 1 is still a pretty good game and 2 was pretty decent from what I remember, 3 was during the "Year of the Bow" and I was on a gaming break when it released so missed it, though I think all 3 are on Origin Access on PC so may play them there now actually
