I've said it before and I'll say it again, DC needs to go full "fuck continuity" and start letting their creators go wild with DC properties. Remove JL references from Aquaman and Shazam. Let Aquaman movies only be in continuity with other Aquaman films, etc. Let Reeves do his Batman and with his own new Joker. Let Leto do a joker movie with his own version. Let joaquin phoenix make a sequel to his own Joker movie. Let Batfleck do Red Son. Make a Justice League movie with it's own cast. Do Kingdom Come.

Would be nice for a Flashpoint alt-reality movie to be the big bang that starts all of this, but since Flashpoint keeps getting delayed. They can always release it after these movies and then use it to explain the continuity mess.

That's exactly what theyre doing though? Execs already announced theyre deemphasizing the shared universe aspects. Thats why the Joaquinker movie is being made at all

This would seem to open the door for Cavill to replace Craig as Bond after the next movie if both parties are up for it. Cavill seems game

I'd normally say he's too big of a name, but EON has done some unconventional things lately and historically they've went back to people they liked before. Cavill was a finalist for the role in Casino Royale that Craig got but they thought he was too young back then.

Should've just took the Marvel route, dumbasses. Intro films > Teamup Movie > CASH MONEY. How WB couldn't put enough faith in Ben Affleck to carry a Batman film is beyond me. DC doesn't deserve this. Way too many good properties being fucking wasted. These two should be going at it like heavyweights in the box office, but Marvel's clearly punching down at this point.

Would they really pick a TV show actor though

Honestly I'm more down for this at this point than DC and WB getting back up and saying "Well that didn't work, let's try that again guess."

Does that mean that Alfred movie is also dead? Cause that sounded like a real winner lol

Getting rid of Cavill is a mistake. I feel for Affleck too. He messed up DareDevil and Batman. Still his Batman was bad to me.

Superman is rumoured to have done some vile nasty shit during his impossible mission trip to China. And with them not looking to recast Supes, this is looking like it has some truth to it:

Certain people over at this studio know what happened in China, but the numbers are few. They are trying to make sure they have a chance at leaving the door open for a return. Yes, despite what he did. Apparently they feel since it was legal there and there are no witnesses who will say anything, that he might be able to come back.

Fucking gross.

I'd rather a full reboot. I'd also want Alexandra Shipp as Wonder Woman and have her emerge from Paradise Island in modernity, and have her work with Steve Trevor in the Middle East. Radically different.

She's awesome but Gal Gadot *is* Wonder Woman at this point. Rebooting would be silly. I'd rather see Shipp come in as Bumblebee or Starfire.

And if they really want the big Avengers multi-movie team up bucks, they could do Flashpoint/Injustice/etc every couple years where they can play around with the multiverse. Leto joker meets joaquin joker, etc. Batman Beyond vs Reeve's Batman.

maybe they should think about focusing on bringing a quality Superman and Batman to the CW verse. a world's finest show maybe? TV would be a good niche for the DCU - that's one thing they have over Marvel. sorry if anyone else said this earlier, i went straight to the last page.

Bale has been the only one who nailed Bruce Wayne on the big screen and his Batman Persona was great in the first one. But the voice he put on in the sequels were not so great. Maybe a voice modulator next time.

Kinda glad that we're getting reboots for both Superman and Batman.

Man of Steel and BVS (the latter I only saw a part of, and couldn't continue) were honestly some of the worst blockbuster movies I've ever seen.

I never thought I would see two movies in a row that could match M Night's Airbender in terms of awful storytelling, baffling editing choices, and bastardization of the source material.

That being said, I'm not sure if these new reboots will be any better.

I honestly don't care if they do a cinematic universe or not, just make some good freakin movies!

BVS I can sort of understand but there is no way MOS is one of the "worst blockbusters evar!!" Unless you literally only watched independent films and Oscar bait up until your adulthood.

WB really has no handle on their DC film division. They need an overseer compared to a Kevin Feige, but someone who not just understands comic books, but also understands movies, which are incredibly different even though they are both forms of storytelling. Geoff Johns is an amazing writer, and should stay on board as such, but they need someone who doesn't have both duties,

As for the cast, I feel really bad for them. Henry Cavill was the best Superman we've had since Reeves, and he got poor scripts with no character development and bad action. Affleck was poised to be the best Batman ever, and they decided to make him a killer. Gal Gadot, while having the best movie of the bunch, is now shafted because she won't get to experience the fulfillment of a true, cohesive cinematic universe. And no matter how good Aquaman is, it is riding on the coattails of a dookie train.

DCEU needs to be rebooted and rebranded.

As far as I'm aware, Flashpoint isn't happening. Different script and hook.

As far as Bruce Wayne goes and how Batman is supposed to LOOK was on point. But we'll never know what Affleck truly was like as Batman because we never got a proper glimpse. BVS we have a semi retired Batman that straight up kills people, and in JL you got a empty cardboard cut out of a character (Joss Whedon definitely didn't help whatsoever). It's time to wipe the slate clean. He looked fucking great as Batman but he's associated with complete CBM failures at this point, there's no return from this.

Christian Bale was Batman. Shit happens, people adjust as long as the end product is good.
I loved Bale as Batman, but he was hardly the zeitgeist icon that Gadot's Woman Woman is, regardless of what you think about her performance.

And the only reason they recast Batman was because Bale had moved on from the role! If Bale was still game to do BvS with Snyder, you can bet WB would've dumped that truckload of money on his driveway. So as long as Gadot wants to play WW, there is no way WB would ever get rid of her or even want to.

I think they should definitely go the anthology route but keep them in the same universe. Something akin to Agents of Shield in the later seasons where the movies impact that universe but they are still telling there own story and they don't need Iron Man showing up to keep connected. But also avoiding the pitfalls of the earlier AoS episodes like the Dark World aftermath one.

Bale offered to return, but was turned down.

I love Gal, but she can be replaced for the greater good, and as long as the product is good, people will be okay with it.

Don't give the reigns to James Gunn. I believe he can make fun movies but I'm not so sure they would be on a good track and faithful enough to be a Kevin Feige. Give him the reigns to Suicide Squad and maybe even a proper Teen Titans film franchise but not reigns to the whole DCEU .

Full reboot needed at this point. Even ww. Just restart like marvel. Solo movies first to build universe then go for big ensemble movie.

I despise everything after Man of Steel, however I will always like the meme scene when Superman lets him go and makes a face before flying off. It will stand out forever.

WB should just poach the Disney jailed Pixar brain trust.

Andrew Stanton
Brad Bird
Brenda Chapman

Then throw in Verbinski for good measure and give them each a film to direct for a rebooted universe.
