Just announced an FPGA Genesis/MegaDrive from the makers of the Super NT, and NT Mini the SNES and NES FPGA consoles. Looks like pre-orders are open.

*edit*

Looks like it works with the Sega CD, and they also announced "In addition: pleased to introduce a new line of cartridge adapters that bring support to nearly all of Sega's rich 8 & 16-bit history. High quality, tightly designed, low footprint adapters for Mark III, Game Gear, Sega MyCard, SG-1000, SC-3000. Coming next year. $9.99 USD each."

Their website is down so I can't get it to load to see the price.

Confirmed to be an FPGA done by Kevtris.

It also looks like the Master System cartridge adapter is included with every Mega Sg.

They're $190 and will start shipping in April.

Think I'd be a lot more into this than the Nintendo variants.

Looks amazing. Given that we will never get a Super NES Mini or PSOne Mini tier MegaDrive, this will likely be the ultimate way to play Sega games. Man, can I justify yet another retro collection...?

I love that they did versions representing the subtle differences between PAL / JPN / USA versions. Seeing that grey PAL plastic always felt homely.

Looks slick! Very cute design.

Between my original hardware setup and g-sync I don't think I need this, but if these FPGA consoles start getting variable refresh rate support in a few years I'll probably start looking into them.

Wasn't there supposed to be a version with dual analogue stick and 4 top triggers? I remember seeing something like that last E3.

-Ooops, wrong thread lol.

This is great. They make quality products. If you're a SEGA fan, you should definitely get this.

(I won't be getting it since I already sold my MegaDrive/Genesis collection.)

I've been begging for this, beyond excited. Now if the website would just work...

Oh my God yes. I love my NT and Super NT, but this right here is what I truly want.

Glad to see Sega CD compatibility, are working ones still easy to find? Last I read, 32x was a technical impossibility. Assuming that's still true?

The Super NT is my favorite gaming purchase in years, so I'm picking this up in a heartbeat (as soon as the website's up).

I hope we'll be able to run ISOs of Sega CD games directly from an SD card. Will help with preserving that finicky Sega CD hardware.

I remember Kevtris saying how disappointed he was with how easy it was to program the Sega FPGA and cores. No challenge for him.

I recently picked up a Shield and have Retroarc loaded so I'm a bit torn on this one. I love Sega but the emulation is pretty spot on unlike SNES.

As I understand it, supporting the Sega CD just means adding a compatible expansion slot to the bottom, whereas the 32X required a hackish analog video overlay system and there's no way that would work unless it's built into the Mega Sg. And considering the 32X's library, I can understand why they wouldn't put in the effort for that.

Man this looks awesome but I really don't revisit Sega games nearly as much as I do Nintendo games T_T Oh well, one extra console for someone else to buy.

I knew this was coming once 8bitdo announced Genesis controllers the other day.

" 2.4g instead of Bluetooth."
Does that mean the controller wont work with the Switch? (Or at least, will need a dongle)

I got to the main page, but when I click on Mega SG from their menu, it just says the page doesn't exist.

Lack of 32X is a bummer, but I guess I can understand. Not sure if the FPGA it's using is capable of simulating the Genesis and the 32X at the same time, and I don't know how they'd get the analog pass-through to work with the real one.
