they should just stop. Unless they re-write all of DC to ground everyone, its just un fun to watch things that are so absurdly powerful they cant die.

its like watching a 2 year old fight with gijoes after watching dragon ball

Ben isn't in any kind of position where taking the Batman role again would be good for him and the dropping of Cavill is nothing but a good thing.

Aquaman and Wonder Woman are the best things they have going, best to focus on them and let the out of continuity spin-offs like Gunn's Suicide Squad and Phillip's Joker have a fair chance on their own without being shackled to that miserable "universe."

I can't believe how much of a disaster this all has been. Like goddamn
This is what happens when you axe the one man leading the show. They were better off sticking with Snyder and hiring someone to reel him in, but now the people who have no idea what to do with the properties are running the show with no idea what to do.

Justice League should have been delayed so Johns and Whedon could work out something decent, but they had to make the release date. Now both of them are gone (I'm pretty sure Johns stepped away from the films), Snyder is gone, and they have nobody to steer the ship.

Just recast everyone at this point. Scrap everything and start completely fresh. Go super young and start with Batman Year One.

Whoever said they are doing Anthology movies for awhile is probably right, but oh man.

It's amazing how these properties were fucked up. It's not like they didn't have multiple templates to work with in crafting a unified movie universe when they have an animated, live television, and Marvel movies to look at. They should have had someone who actually loved comics and the characters in charge instead of Snyder. Geoff John's should have been in charge from the beginning instead of throwing him in when shit was already hitting the fan.

This was expected but still a bit sad to hear. Cavill could have been a great Superman but he was sadly in less than good films.

Literally the only thing that might save the character atm in the eyes of audiences.

Launch a Batman Beyond franchise with Bale reprising Wayne. Or do a TDKReturns style film with Phoenix stepping into Nolan's universe.
Hard no, Nolan came, did his thing then left. Stop trying to piggyback off of it a decade later.

And seriously? The only thing that can save the character in the eyes of "the audience"? Which audience? The one that has endured decades of bad live action Batman?

Yeah, I'm sure the general audience is really offended by two mediocre appearances of the character in two team up films.

There it is.

Looks like only Gal and Margot will survive this current version of the DCU at this rate. Maybe Momoa.

Good. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when I look at this forum and see people praising Ben Affleck of all people for being Bruce Wayne. It was bad casting from the start and it's bizarre he was in the role for this long. He's an awful actor.

Honestly this rendition of batman and superman are dead men walking. It will be a long time before a talented director and writer will want to take this on, probably in 20 years by a young director inspired by Nolan.

Tear everything down and just do what they should have done all along....follow the roadmap the DCEU set out 20+ years ago.

With Cavill landing the Geralt gig, that'll probably eat up most of his time until the series completes the saga ending.

DCEU will never be right because the execs won't leave it well enough alone. The only good movie was Wonder Woman which they didn't give a shit about.

Just cancel all dc related media and reboot starting with a comedy romance called "there's something about dick"

I'm serious about my suggestion that they should just jump forward to 2039 and do Beyond stories. Wonder Woman is immortal so they could use Gal Gadot again, but have a Terry McGinnis Batman, a Superman with a touch of grey, Mareena (Aquawoman), Kai-Ro (Green Lantern), Danica Williams (the Flash) or maybe a time displaced Barry Allen, and maybe Captain Marvel.

I'm so confused as to how this is different from the thread last month when we found out that Cavill and Affleck wouldn't be back.

They were both terrible in their respective roles (of course scripts didn't help either).
Good to know they've both been dumped.

However I expect WB to high profile bungle whatever their next move is with both characters.

Am I the only one that doesn't think this is confirmation? Seems like they are running off of the same information as THR was. There's nothing new here. There's no "announcement" from WB, at least not in the OP

DCCB.

DC Cinematic Beyond

Batman Beyond
Wonder Woman 2039
Justice League Unlimited
I agree with this. Screw origin stories, setting up the League and the same God damn origin stories over and over again etc. It's been done to death and they're terrible at it.

Jump to the future with an established league and introduce new (to the DCEU) heroes and villains.

It's not, pure sensationalist clickbait by Zatt.

That's because there isn't.

Burn it all down and start again. Wonder Woman is all they have going for them and they literally have to distance those movies from the rest of the DCEU by setting them in the past. Aquaman looks mediocre at best. Shazam looks promising but it's too little too late.

At least this is a good career move for Cavill. He was great in Mission Impossible and he shouldn't waste any more time on garbage like Batman V Superman and Justice League.

Time for a reboot. Losing Affleck and Cavill at the same time is huge. Cast Gal Gadot as Hippolyta, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and recast all the main roles with new, younger actors.
