Uncharted theme is great.

However, something I personally don't care for, and hell it could just be me, but I like themes that have more subdued sounds/music. I get that it's just a concept and it's absolutely great, but that's just something I've always wanted to bring up.

There's a Resident Evil 7 theme that is superb, and while it has music, it's more of an atmospheric track that sets a tone, rather than a big theme:

https://youtu.be/R4bTcjnFS0s

I'd like to see (hear?) more stuff like that. Just wanted to provide some constructive criticism, even if I may be totally alone on the matter :p Amazing stuff though as usual, always interested in seeing Truant's work.

Oh...well, capcom came to us a bit late for the RE7 stuff. We'd done an 'atmospheric creepy halloween' theme a few months before that caught their attention:

It was fun because it has a ton of creepy stuff that hidden, layered in the static you see between scenes. But, on certain days of the year, it gets really crazy. It's so obscure that it pissed a fair amount of people off, too ;)

By the time capcom caught wind, it was too late to make something for RE7...but they asked for RE:Revelations instead:

Great to have you here m0dus. Your themes are fantastic. I love the REZ and Sakura themes.

Is there any chance that the REZ preorder theme will be offered for sale ?

Im sure has already been requested at some point, but would it be possible at all to make a PS3 theme, like with the wave and changing colors and dark at night?

Concept for a theme a neo noir type city like blade runner or akira with the theme taking place on the city streets full of neo signs

Okay. I tackled the base / city portion this morning. Textures are progressively generated to allow for high level of detail and lit elements:

The sign is just placeholder, btw, I'm just trying to figure out a way to do 3D neon signs.

okay, I think I've got what I need to produce neon signs that utilizes little to no memory overhead.

At this point, I'll take ideas if anyone has something they'd like to see ;)

I booted up my PS4 after a month and had to change my old gaf theme. I gladly welcome a new one for my new online home.

Last update for the night. Adding smaller animated elements to help reinforce sense of scale: Whats a futuristic dystopia without a few flying cars?

sAf2evQ.png

Heavily optimized model, uses independently animated hover pads, which are constantly shifting and rotating in subtle ways to keep the vehicle level in the updrafts. It also reconfigures into 'flying' mode.

Here it is seated in the scene. one down, like 20 more to go . . .

Dude! Stoked to know you made it over...I wonder why my account doesn't show me as an original or anything.
It just means OP of this topic.

How do you get m0dus Themes when using the EU store?
There aren't that many. Does this work for you? https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/grid/search-game/1?query=vev If not just search 'vev'.

I've been using m0dus' Azure Earth Orbital Remastered theme for a while, it's gorgeous. What I'd really like is the crazy trippy hyperspace tunnel shit from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Are you able to shed some light as to why no custom PS4 themes seem to be able to skin the color of the folder background tile from the home menu? It' s super off-putting and I tend to do blue themes just to hide it...

I'm not sure why. All of my themes skin the folder icon tile appropriately, save for the ones that predate system software 3.5.

Lurker here, just wanted to pop in real quick to say that I'm super happy to see this thread show up over here, and that ResetEra theme is looking awesome so far. Is there anyway it can be paired with some Blade Runner 2049-esque background music too?

Whoa, it's not a reset era theme - the logo in there is just a placeholder because the scene needed color while I create the neon signage. :) I don't have permission to use it nor is it intended to stay in there. Sorry!

Happy to see this thread return, your work is amazing! Need to get that fireplace theme, it's so relaxing.

A Cupsouls theme would be fun, while I know it's highly unlikely to happen.

Okay, had a little time to work on this again today. I've added rain, camera movement, and the first elements of traffic. This will require several passes to add elements.

-I still need to create signage elements,
-I'm deciding on how to implement holograms - they need to be and will be user interactive.
-I need to make another style of car.

I've also composed an early soundtrack, to give me some ambiance to work off of. I did my best Vangellis impression, but I think the final audio will have environmental elements (rain, the sounds of the city and the traffic) as well.

Your future work with Naughty Dog... Is it for TLoU PT2? I know NDA's etc so you'll probably not be able to say anything but I hope it is. You create the best themes, period.

Er, no, nothing like that in the works currently. I always love working with ND, though. So I'd jump at the chance.

I haven't even touched the icons yet. Working on dynamic elements first ;)
I'm thinking some dynamic spot lights? Bit like Midgar from FF7 on the reactors.

Or maybe something like this if it's not too memory intensive.

artworks-000105705005-6r6ovg-t500x500.jpg

Edit: Also maybe some flashing police lights on the city street level? Something small but which will give it the atmosphere of a noir / city.

Also for a future theme. I'd like to see a Soma style theme, creepy, dark atmosphere, robots etc.

This is the first time I've seen that hallway theme and it's amazing. Something like that can really be expanded upon by doing all kinds a things in your menus to change the theme. You could even make a small game out of it trying to solve a murder with a ghost or something. Would really like to see it continued in some way, but not be connected to RE or anything like that.

Memory isn't the only issue. It's also skirting GPU limitations already.

At this point, I've used more than 95% of the available memory, fyi :)
