So what's the secret to playing as lightsaber users that don't have a block? I feel like Maul really suffers from this, but at least Yoda has a smaller hitbox
His R1/RB (dunno what you're playing on) ability is key, close the gap or use it to either run away or dodge instead of attack. There's a card that'll give you an extra dive attack but with slow recharge.

Great tool to use for Maul.

I like to watch folk behind cover, use that ability to fly to the next player to kill or box to hide behind. Then use it again to flyback to my team or another hiding spot.

Don't attack directly. Use Maul's dash ability to get out of danger. You can hold two charges at once, so you can flank, find a target, dash in for the kills, and dash back to safety. If you don't want to feel completely helpless, you can poke with the light saber throw.

I find the L+R ability, situational cause they normally longer to activate, and you get can get shot up in the process. I use it when there's more than one target, so I know the extra damage I take will be worth the trade.

Maul is more hit n run the the other saber users, so be sneaky. Greed gets you killed.

Get that enhanced range card on saber throw too, it's great.

I've been playing HvV, Strike and Blast almost exclusively, but I decided to try out Galactic Assault and Starfighter Assault today. That quickly confirmed that those modes just aren't for me. It feels like no matter what I do I have literally no impact on how the game will play out. At least in the other three modes, I've literally turned the tide of the entire game with a luckily timed run of good play to bring us back from the brink of defeat. I'll probably only play the Assault modes some more to get the trophies.

Also experiencing lots of lag on PS4. My buddy wanted to quit and reboot his PS4 I had to tell him it was unlikely to be him, seems to be the game. We were playing Blast and Strike.

Friend of mine was gonna get this and then is like "sorry bro I'm taking a stand against ea".... Good fucking lord. It's so annoying because this game is actually good, really good. They made fucking stupid and silly decisions but he's playing cod ww2 and it has loot boxes just the same and is getting bagged on for being shitty, which I can attest to.

So annoying... I swear it's just fucking disgusting how good this game is and is being ignored. Not just ea doesn't deserve it but it's a good game, it needs to be played

Finished the campaign, it got better after the absolute trash first two levels. Still pretty meh overall, and the ending is a sham

Like people using rubberbands on the controllers or the game making it easier for the other team?

I don't care about the latter cause that means more playtime, get to experience more of the map, and more chances to get more BP/credits. After your first win or so, does winning really matter?

It means there's a lot of lag on the servers and everyone is teleporting backwards a few steps. This affects everyone's ability to play correctly.

It's fun and it plays well, I agree, but it's about when and where you can do so. I've been having match availability and rubber banding problems (PS4) since release day. There are offline modes in the first game that haven't made it over here for some reason. Credit accumulation is capped daily too early in offline mode. Online matches can end too quickly by playing the objective, limiting credit accumulation. Playing the objective is less encouraged than just being present, by the way credits are earned per match. Playing the objective is less encouraged than getting kills, based on all the kill challenges available. Star cards won't determine the outcome for certain, but strong ones effectively allow players to limit the battle point progression of players unlucky in loot crate contents.

The whole point of Battlefront II was to get players more ways to play, and better access to heroes and vehicles in online play. Everything connected to credits - loot crates, challenges, and match rewards - works to limit players' ways to play, and access to heroes and vehicles online. The short-circuit objectives and online lag are unfortunately exacerbating this.

It is playable online yeah, you might see some rubberbanding, I do and others here have. For the most part with my own experience it's quite random/rare. Today was the worst day for it for a few games but then it settled, didn't see it much prior. I play on WiFi, could be I just need to reset my shit as it was great before today. It's just a slight hitching as you run.

It's a bit grindy to upgrade as you need to buy a lot of Hero crates with credits for crafting parts and the payout post match is small. We're waiting for news on progression changes.

Heroes are pretty quick to unlock after hitting campaign, playing some mp and completing challenges. You should be able to buy some of your faves quickly enough.

Thanks For the detailed answer.. ;-)

Games experience lag and shit tho, that happens from time to time.. Even the best games went thru bad patches like Battlefield 1 and many others. The game needs to be purchased if people enjoy star wars.

It's frustrating because it's a double edged sword.

Dice hasn't just ever let a game go, hell Battlefield 4 was fucked up... I mean there was some messed up weird shit with that game even worse than this in terms of weird hit boxes and lag and they corrected it.

If past games are to be the example dice will fix the issues

I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this game. Played nonstop all last weekend, finished the campaign, and could not wait to get back to it when I left to travel for Thanksgiving. This is a massive step up from Battlefront 1 imo, the progression system is so unfortunate as it's a crutch in an otherwise awesome game.

I'll be working on an intense project over the next 10-12 days, so it'll be sadly limited playtime for me throughout that time. When I come back though its the start of "Season 1" and I could not be more excited. Hopefully they have progression patched up by then.

I think it's a latency issue or something.
I'm playing Blast and I'm not getting any rubberbanding sort of lag at all.
As soon as I hop into a GA match I start running in place and teleporting backwards lol

Blast is too easy. I know I sound like a prick by saying that but I just came out on top in score and kills three matches in a row

Rubber banding was so bad tonight that I killed a guy then teleported back into the previous room. Felt like I was playing Tracer in Overwatch.

Still silence from DICE and EA.

I'm going through all of the hero challenges right now and holy shit is Bossk a beast. I managed to go 7 kills, 10 assists and 1 death for the match. All 7 of my kills were on a killstreak and we won with 9 tickets left. I think I might have found my new favourite hero.

It's fucking ridiculous that there can be four heroes per team in the last stage of Galactic Assault. What kind of bullshit balance is that?

Also, keep getting put into empty lobbies after each round. I'm seriously getting fed up with this fucking game.

Played a couple hours tonight and didn't get the empty lobby bullshit at all, and no real lag/rubberbanding except for one guy in one lobby that was warping all over the place. (PC version) Hopefully the issues people are having will be short lived.

Here, duh.
Damn, you guys weren't joking. Leia is a monster. Defending Maz's castle on GA at the last bit in overtime. We were about to lose, Empire flooding the central room. Too many for the heavies to handle while in sentry.

I jump in with Leia (first time using her since unlocking), toss a flash, E-11 my way into the spot just in front of the stairs, drop the shield, and start poppin in and out while wasting fools. The heavies start moving into the shield, then officers, everybody is getting buffed, and we kill every one of them in there, while forcing any reinforcements to stay outside the doors.

Granted, any solid hero can turn a tide like that, but that flash/E-11/shield combo is brutal. I don't think we lost anyone after I came in.

Mos Eisley is one of the most visually stunning multiplayer maps I've ever seen. So much going on, so much detail. Really feels like a living, breathing city. All these reviews docking points for the lootbox controversy should add points just for this map alone.

Anybody who plays Blast a decent amount... thoughts on the maps?

I'm lukewarm. Might prefer the ones from 2015 on the whole. More of the old ones actually were designed as standalone small/medium maps rather than as sections cut out of GA maps. And the Endor map is pure trash.

Keep getting better at this game.

Galactic assault as heavy, 16 eliminations, 9 killstreaks, 2 deaths.

Blast maps are decent. A little disappointed to see some repurposed GA sections, but considering we have quite a few GA maps I can't complain since that's the games "main" mode.

What I really don't like about Blast is the spawn system. It has horrible spawns.

I bought a trooper crate by mistake :(

They really need to add a confirmation screen when buying those, cause 4k credits for just 1 crate sucks so much.

I did get a blue Bounty Hunter star card for Specialist, so that helped soften the blow lol.

I really love Hoth, Death Star and Mos Eisley. Superfun blast maps.
The rest is ok, with the exception of Starkiller base. That's pure trash. Worst spawns ever.

Reading articles on this games situation is so annoying for me. I just hate most in general have zero tolerance for error to where theyll let something fail that could be really good.

I get ea screwed up but my god I am willing to let them fix and make adjustments, I get there's no season pass or paid dlc but I would be fine if they said we're just going to charge for dlc, no big deal to me. I mean the game is worth saving as long as it's still within line of what other games do.

I just crave this type of game to much that it's worth letting a company redo some things.

Just annoying to me is all. They screwed up bad but I still want them to fix the game but apparently that can't happen

No one trusts EA anymore is why people aren't willing to give them anymore chances. This is like years of shit building up and they just had to push consumers one last time with this dumb loot box progression system.

Screwed up bad is putting it lightly as multiple governments are not investigating loot boxes in general.

Also, no one is twisting their arms into not fixing the game lol. They're gonna try to fix it make some money from this mess while they can. It's still very new after all.

But the thing is that there have been games that have been royally jacked and were salvaged, this game deserves that chance is my main point.

I wish articles would state hey its a great game otherwise

Then by this logic, you can't fault your friend for wanting to wait until the game is "fixed." This game deserves the shit it's getting. I enjoy playing it and think it's core gameplay is fun (I also am obsessed with Star Wars so that helps...), but there are a few serious issues with this game and quite a bit of smaller ones too. Additionally, this game was the straw that broke the camels back and people are protesting it's bull shit, skeezy, slimy progression system. Rightfully so. Im glad this is getting so much press because it'll be a better game for it in the end, and many games in the future will benefit from this scandal.

I don't blame your friend for waiting, or anyone else. It's DICE/EA's own fault. They brought this upon themselves. Like I said, I agree that it's a fun game at its core and I'll enjoy continuing to play it here and there, but it's a delicious Star Wars flavored meal covered in hot garbage.

They need to clean up the garbage and recook the meal before a lot of people will trust that they won't get sick from it, if you catch my drift.

It is the way it is. All the anger anyone has about this game not succeeding or being played should be directed towards DICE/EA and maybe even Disney.

We better get an update about progress on the revamped progression system this coming week or else I will be seriously worried about their priorities.

Edit: also, I have actually seen some articles mention that the core gameplay is actually fun but that it's deeply marred by the already mentioned mistakes. So theres no need to be so defensive. Like I said, this outrage is ultimately a good thing for the gaming industry. Does it hurt that it happened to the one Star Wars game that we'll get for years? Yes. I wanted a great, flawless Star Wars game too. But this is the way it turned out. They made their bed, now they have to lie in it.... And then heavily tweak the bed cause right now no one trusts it. And they shouldn't.

What game publisher is as hated as EA games? Activision sure, but Activision wasn't voted as worst company of the year multiple times like EA games.

Really doesn't matter how good it is when they messed up this badly and it will only blow over when they announce what fixes they plan to implement, and if those fixes are good. No one is gonna pay $60 dollars for a game that shoot itself in the foot prior to release.

Yup this is a bug for sure. I've had it happen every few games on PS4. I bet some people are thinking "wow this game is dead cant find anyone" but really its just dumping people in empty lobbies that wont ever populate. Quitting out to the main menu, and hopping back in fixes it albeit annoying especially when in a group.

Man, the soundtrack for this game really bums me out.

It's 2017, reusing the John Williams music from the movies is beyond lame at this point. I didn't like it back then, but I understood why developers did it back then. Games were trying to capture that Star Wars feel, and the easiest way to do that was to simply use the score from the films. Video games are much bigger now, so shoving in the old music these days is disappointing and just feels lazy. This campaign already lacks its own identity with all this fan service and its cliche story, the lack of original music just makes the entire experience unmemorable.

Of course, I'm talking campaign specifically. I don't mind the use of the old tracks for the multiplayer.

I had that problem before the patch, not every game but now and then. Haven't had it since the "0.2"-patch, but maybe I'm just lucky.
