I have always felt the "It was all a dream/illusion" story piece is a complete crutch when it comes to writing, so it never really sat well with me. Still a good game, though.
This isn't even remotely the same as when its used as a crutch, though. This is a giant sky whale who, when sleeping, manifests its dreams in the real world. As a fantasy premise, it's fucking cool.
There were Seagulls in the sky, implying he was near land.I would have liked it if the ending mirrored the start of the dream.

Definitely top tier Zelda. Ballad of the Wind Fish is beautiful, too. Fits the theme and twist perfectly.

if you played the game back in 1993 or thereabouts it was kind of implicit you were playing "LttP Remix" so while the ending was cool and memorable it was like 'okay, whatever'
