I have done maybe 200 hours of pubg on X1 and PC
And about 15 maybe of blops.
I have to say I kinda agree, but it's like pubg is a thriller like Sicario, where blops is bad boys 2.
What's all this about COD failing on PC? Do we have numbers?
Been playing on PC since launch and no matter what mode I played, I'm matched within seconds to a full group.
There are about TWO POINT ONE MILLION PEOPLE that were playing PUBG 9 month ago, that aren't now. Thats a lot of people, maybe the people who who were gonna leave, already left.
Those 2 million people are playing something...but what?
They are definitively not play COD, as considering the current sales info would make the game not have even 1/3 of peak H1Z1, much less PUBG.There are about TWO POINT ONE MILLION PEOPLE that were playing PUBG 9 month ago, that aren't now. (Also, since the BO announcement month of May 18, PUBG lost 600,000 avg. players, and 1,000,000 peak players - can't ignore that?)
I love them both but separatelyThis is a great comparison. I remember those comparisons when PUBG first came out that it was like a horror game. It's tense and terrifying at times. Blackout feels like an action game with cool soldier dudes.
Who cares about PC the question is has it impacted it on Xbox.
I don't think the majority would side with you on vastly better shooting. Especially on Xbox. Game does not run well at all. Finally having a refined FPS BR is the only reason why I'm playing it.Not really. PUBG has a first person mode, as well as vastly better shooting.
I mean, a 4% decline is still an impact. Not a very big one, but, still not something I'm sure PUBG is thrilled about.
Wouldn't it be because PUBG's main base is now in Asia where Call of Duty doesn't have much of a presence?
COD is the same weightless garbage arcade shooting it has always been. The beta killed any interest I ever had on this. And as a PC player, PUBG runs smooth as fuck for me these days no real issues whole Blackout had constant hitches and terrible hit detection.I don't think the majority would side with you on vastly better shooting. $60 console-focused CoD BR game fails to materially impact highly successful $30 PC-focused BR game.
The only people who thought this would happen are the same people who strangely want PUBG to fail at this point. Fortnite, a free BR game, failed to kill it. Why would a $60 version do it?
Not to be a hater, but i'd really like to know what their regional numbers look like for PUBG. How many of those people are from the US/China etc.
Fore sure, a Call of Duty game will overtake the PC market. Any moment now.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious... but why would that matter to you?
The shooting is just a few steps removed. It's nothing like ARMA or Red Orchestra.I don't think the majority would side with you on vastly better shooting.
I don't see people who like PUBG jumping to Black Ops as it does everything PUBG does well pretty poorly (ballistics, gunplay, directional audio, map design). My friends all got Black Ops but nobody has even touched Blackout. The traditional multiplayer is decent fun though.
PUBG is down 1 million players since the start of the year, I don't think it will be any one game that really takes a bite out of it, just all the competition catching up over time.
It is extremely popular over here, to the extent that there are three PUBG themed restaurants within two miles of me.Also isn't it very popular in China? I don't think they're playing CoD.
I'd like to see the numbers from the US market. It's also worth noting that these numbers won't change overnight. Not everyone rushes out and buys a game on release, they wait for sales, watch their favorite streamer to see if they even like it.
That being said, I don't see blackout pulling in PUBG numbers ever, unless it gets super popular in the Asian markets.
Isn't pubg mostly played nowadays in regions where cod isn't popular?

The popularity of the game in China also makes these discussions highly frustrating because the game is on Tencent's store as well as on Steam and while this is purely anecdotal, most of the people I know who play PUBG have, ever since China blocked all of Steam's social aspects, migrated to the Tencent version or the mobile version.
Until Tenecent releases the numbers there is no real accurate way of accounting for the popularity of the game.
Anyone remember this guy on the other thread. He's back with more hits.

If anecdotal evidence from my sorroundings is anything to go by, most kids won't pay 60 dollars for the game (or don't have the required minimum age to play, which isn't stopping kids today sadly) if they can play Fortnite for free or PUBG for the fraction of the price.
