Edit: I'm not sure if people are confused which is before and which is after (some people seem to think other people are), but in the bottom two images I quoted, the first image is before (that is the one without the large purple visual effects) and the second is after. Just to make it clear!

Here's the trailer:

The following was noticed by @CentroPokemon:

Google translate:
Pokémon Let's Go beta vs the final version: Game Freak has improved the lighting a lot.

Before (left) vs after.
Especially the second set of images in that tweet imo showed some remarkable improvements:
DpicN_CWkAABn3j.jpg
DpicOlhX4AEN48G.jpg
The first image is an ever so slightly different point the game than the second I think, so the two scenes aren't 100% comparable, but there's still stuff to be learned here. The first image (before) shows a lack of significant lighting on the trainer character, while in the second the lighting is clearly present and furthermore looks quite good imo!

So, what do you think? Do you think it looks good? Do you agree that this showcases visual enhancements?

Another interesting aspect of this trailer is that it confirms character customisation, including skin colour, hair colour, customes etc. Some of those probably were already confirmed, but I don't think skin colour had been confirmed.
Edit:
It was. I confirmed it in my exclusive playthrough report :)

Isn't this just one of the CGI Cutscenes? Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres had better lighting in the cutscenes before them which made the less impressive lighting in the gameplay more obvious.

I mean from those comparisons it looks like they've tie-dyed the screen.

I think the game will end up looking great, though. Maybe these comparisons aren't doing it much justice.

It looks like too much light now.

Edit: Okay, seems the left one is the before. In that case it looks better now.

I prefer the new renders indeed.

It is another example of a Nintendo game that looked better than in its initial showing (Odyssey, Splatoon...)

Man watching this make me want gym leaders/team rocket to have voice acting, it will really feel weird otherwise.

I feel like people are missing that the NEW pictures are the ones on the right. The ones without all the crazy pink energy effects.

I think the difference is much more appreciable in the trailer itself than in the screenshot comparisons. Much less overblown, more detailed. Looks a lot nicer.

Maybe you can contact a mod to change the thread title to reflect this?
This seems like something that people would be interested in, more so than than the graphics upgrades.

Now it looks way to bright, to the point of ofuscate some parts of Mewtwo.

Wonder if this is just an exclusive case or all the game gonna be like that.

Well, at least customization is back.

Looks way better now. The trainer looks good too. Can't wait to see how the 2019 game looks. The visuals of this game was never really a concern for me it looked good before but this is better.

Glad to see trainer customization is in

Well it does look a lot better, also nice to see customization back, it's that kind of little details that tell me when a Dev is making actual effort into the product.

To be honest I've been really digging the graphics since Day 1 for this. Just the game play stuff which has me worried.

I think they added a better depth of field effect, allowing them to reduce the blur. Looks good, they are probably actively working on this engine for the big entry next year.

The big entry isn't using this engine. It started development before this was even conceived
Somewhat yes. This is using an upscaled version of the Generation 7 engine (which makes sense as it's a Gen 7 game). It's fairly obvious when you see character movements and the battle animations being identical to Sun & Moon but in HD.

Gen 8 will run its own engine. These engines are usually massively modified and enhanced from their predecessors

I suspect Gen 7, Town, and Gen 8 are all on the same toolset, but Let's Go, Town, and Gen 8 are all on a different renderer

While it's probably true since they have always made new engines for new gens, we can't exactly be sure that Let's Go is using the same engine as Gen 7, as animations (and artstyle and assets and pretty much everything) aren't tied to engines.

I suspect Town came to be after they were testing making 3D worlds for Gen 8

Quite the improvement, indeed. This game is so pretty. I'm not a fan of the chibi characters, but everything looks so clean and crisp. Can't wait.
