If you have watched the Nintendo Indies Direct, you'll know that Towerfall Ascension is heading to Switch.

However, it appears to be that there is no news about it at all since E3. The recent Steam Sale brought this to my attention, as I would rather play this game on the big screen.

Once he said to me the focus is on Celeste, which comes out in January.
Towerfall comes later

Where's Duck Game or Ultimate Chicken Horse? Or hell, where is Pocket Rumble?!
There's a lot of indie games that were announced really early and we haven't seen anything on.

Pocket Rumble is the weirdest thing. It was supposed to be out in March, like the week after launch or something. What happened?

As for Steep, give it to me now.

Oh damn now I really want this again

Day one, if only for all the hours I played this with friends after getting it for free on +

Any of these going MIA is weird as well when you consider the current gold rush.

Side note:

where is the eff is Yooka?
The game that probably served to benefit the most from Switch, isn't even on it.

Ultimate Chicken Horse is currently at the ceritification process. They want to release for all consoles simultaneously so release is delayed until each of the Big Three is satisfied.

ChuckleFish Games mentioned in like September that Pocket Rumble was experiencing technical difficulties and would be out when it's out.

What's weird about it? If the game's not ready, the game's not ready, especially when most of the games mentioned are indies and don't have a tonne of flexibility when it comes to resources.

Pocket Rumble was supposed to come out in mid- to late March. In late March, they said they were still on track to release in March. Then they said by June 21st. Then in mid-August they said they had been submitting builds to Nintendo and were catching the last of the bugs, and that the game was "really close to done." In late August, they said, "I think we'll have good news for you soon." It seems like they had been having a bunch of bugs and performance issues, but it doesn't look like they've said anything in three months now. It must be some kind of clusterfuck behind the scenes for them to miss their release date by probably around a year even though they were still on track for a March release as of late March.

Think they said they were having problems with Switch's Unity implementation and delayed it to 2018. It's already 30fps on PS4/XB1 so I assume it's not a trivial matter to port. Definitely would have been more successful if it had launched earlier but what are you gonna do.

It was only 30 on those two?
ugh.
It doesn't even look that good right...

I need Towerfall as for some reason it's the only game my mate will even try on PS4, so will be nice to beat him anywhere with Switch. He thinks everything else is too complicated nowadays.

Don't suppose there has ever been any mention of a Gang Beasts port?

This game would be so perfect for switch and I'm so excited for it

But secretly I want Samurai Gunn way more. It would be incredible on switch. Gimmie both

Honestly, the February Nindies Showcase hasn't had a great track record in general, release-date wise. Out of all the games featured in the video we're still yet to see:

Pocket Rumble
Runner3
Shakedown Hawaii
Wargroove
Flipping Death
The Escapists 2
Dandara
Yooka Laylee

That's not even counting everything announced by the splash screen claiming to be "confirmed Nindie content in 2017." Looking over it now it almost seems to have more games unreleased than released. Might be wrong on one or two of these though:

Ultimate Chicken Horse
The Fall 2: Unbound
Enter the Gungeon
Zombie Vikings
sU and the Quest for Meaning
Treasurenauts
TowerFall Ascension
1001 Spikes
Redout
Duck Game
Toe Jam and Earl: Back In the Groove
Space Dave!
Terraria
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Hover: Revolt of Gamers
Away: Journey of the Unexpected
State of Mind
The Next Penelope
Mutant Mudds

Because indies seem to be doing okay on the Switch I doubt there's a lot here that's been silently cancelled or anything; a lot of these games haven't released on other platforms yet either. I think most of these questions about Switch indie releases can just be reduced to "game development is hard, and setting firm dates months beforehand for tiny teams is harder."

Still waiting on Yooka Laylee over here. Oh, and I'd double dip on Enter the Gungeon, but God knows what happened.

I've decided to try to find the current status / most recent update on every game in this list. Here are my findings.

Pocket Rumble - Most recent news is a fact sheet from the August Nindies Direct claiming a Q3 2017 release date. This was after the Chucklefish August update, and ended up being false.

Runner3 -
A Destructoid preview in September says that Choice Provisions is aiming for release by February 2018.

Shakedown Hawaii -
Vblank Entertainment has been tweeting the game will be out "when it's ready" as soon as two days ago.

Wargroove - ChuckleFish has been saying Early 2018 since August.

Flipping Death - Mikael Forslind mentions an Early 2018 release date for both Flipping Death and Fe during a NintendoLife interview in October.

The Escapists 2 -
Team17 has been very quiet about the release date, but tweeted in October that it's still coming to the Switch. The official site simply says "Coming Soon".

Dandara -
Long Hat House tweeted last week that the game hasn't passed certification yet, and will probably be released after December.

Yooka Laylee -
An update in September said the game was further delayed due to issues with Unity. No new release date yet.

Ultimate Chicken Horse -
A November update announces that the game is currently in certification, and needs to pass certification for all platforms before a release date is announced.

The Fall 2: Unbound - Over The Moon games updated their site in October with a February 2018 release date.

Zombie Vikings - Back in March they confirmed it was coming to Switch, said "maybe in Summer", and it hasn't been mentioned since. "Stick It To The Man", another game from the same developer, came out for Switch just last week.

sU and the Quest for Meaning - The developer is practically radio silent. The Steam page says Q4 2017 but no mention of a Switch release date.

Treasurenauts - In full development as of November. No release date yet.

TowerFall Ascension -
Matt Thorson announced in May that TFA would be coming to Switch after Celeste, which is currently targeting a January 2018 release.

1001 Spikes -
Video footage from March is the latest mention I can find. No announced release date.

Redout -
Nicalis' site still says in 2017, no recent official statement. Nicalis gonna Nicalis, you guys.

Duck Game -
Tony Reale tweeted "update soon" back in October.

Toe Jam and Earl: Back in the Groove - Humanature delayed the game to 2018 this month.

Space Dave! -
A Switch icon was tweeted in September. No announced release date.

Terraria -
Pipeworks tweeted earlier this month that Terraria was still coming to Switch, more information at a later date.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom -
A blog post in October mentions a 2018 release date.

Hover: Revolt of Gamers -
A tweet this month confirms that console releases are delayed to 2018.

Away: Journey of the Unexpected -
Playdius has been saying Q1 2018 since the Nindie Direct in August.

State of Mind -
Steam says 2018, no console release date yet.

The Next Penelope -
The developer tweeted last week that a release date is coming soon.

Mutant Mudds - Is now Mutant Mudds Collection, Jools Watsham tweeted earlier in November that the game is currently undergoing certification at Nintendo. Release date announcement coming soon.

Hopefully people are still reading this thread, because this ended up taking me hours.

You'e good people.
Awesome update, thank you..!

I wish some news from Dodgeroll came out about Enter the Gungeon....

They had a recent update and it's still slated for this year.
VOOK had some Switch gameplay on his site not long ago.

Damn. Excellent work! I seem to remember Chucklefish saying they'd be giving Pocket Rumble more attention once Stardew Valley released, so I'm guessing that's what they're working on now.

It's out now on the EU eShop and yes the icon is gorgeous. Sits alongside Celeste really well.
