So it looks like the forest green leather case is sold out everywhere in my area, and won't ship for another few weeks. Guess since its a new color it's in high demand, but that sucks.

Anyways, first day with the XS and it really is a looker. The screen is incredible, like wow. Coming from a plus, it feels so much nicer to hold and use, one handed typing isn't a pain anymore. I don't miss my plus at all. Hoping battery life will be just as good, but I'll find that out later this week. Haven't tried out the camera too much, gonna really explore this thing.

One thing I've already noticed is the 4gb of ram and just how fast this thing is.

Face ID is working really, really well for me. I set it up in the dark like someone here mentioned and it's really good. Super fast too.

i'd been conditioned for too long to watch the battery number. it stresses me out not seeing it. i guess i'll have to be conditioned out of that.
i also used to have the signal strength numbers instead of bars before they took that away. maybe the numbers are just my thing.

The battery lasts so damned long I stopped caring. Not too bad to just pull down the control center when you want to see exactly what the battery is at.

I turned the percentage off a long time ago since my eyes would just check it every time I unlocked my phone. It helped me stop doing that, and it was always unnecessary since I was rarely draining the battery to empty through the course of a single day.

it's not bad at all and a fresh new battery is wonderful, but the majority of the time i'm pulling it down is to check it. i'm sure eventually i'll get over it. i'd rather have the option for numbers tho :)

Yeah, I'm extremely happy with my XS Max battery life, enough that I'm not nearly as irritated by the no battery percentage as I thought I'd be.

Much closer to my Moto Z Play's battery life than I could have hoped for, and WAY better than my S9+'s which I sold off mainly because of its so-so battery.

welp, i just added the battery widget to the today view so now i can see the number and also keep an eye on my earpods which i just got as a gift two days ago. didn't really know you could do that but that's what i get for not paying all the attention with every release.

Does anyone use the Apple Leather Folio Case for the XS? I've never used a folio case before, but I'm intrigued by it for some reason...

hey peeps, I got an XS as a gift about 4-5 days ago. Im very happy with the phone and its a big upgrade from what i used to have..

However, it seems like the battery on mine isnt that great? Maybe I was expecting a little bit too much but my phone dies every day (or I come back home and its at like 3% left). Also, when I compare with my brother who has an XS max, his battery seems sooo much better than mine

I do. It's a case for the X, so the camera notch is ever so slightly off-centre. You have to look very closely to see it though. Aside from that, I really like the case. It's light, easy to use every day, and clearly good quality

I have a Max, and while the battery is amazing, I wouldn't expect an XS to be that much worse. I use mine throughout the day a ton, and by around 8 at night, its maybe at 45%? Might wanna take it back, man.

I've been really tempted to do that or the iPhone Payments thing to get a Max. I've got an X and went from a 7 Plus to that and I really miss typing on the bigger keyboard and the big screen.

After nearly a year with the X, I can say that the battery life is solidly not that great. The XS should be similar.

Battery on the XS Max here is excellent, heading to bed with an average of 75%, then again my use is only maybe 2 hours per day, and light.

So I've started charging every other day instead of daily.

Thinking of getting the XS Max. Has there been any recommended cases in here for that? I'll also be switching over carriers to either Verizon or AT&T from T-mobile. Wonder if there's some deal I can take advantage of with that.

Totally new to iOS and super excited to be owning one. Had the iPad Pro for the last year and loving that.

EDIT: Also, is the upgrade program through the apple store worth it? My parent's use that but they have issues with their phones all the time.

Forest green is nice. Not an obnoxiously bright green or anything. I'm really liking it and it'll probably age nicely.

When we gonna get this damn tweetbot update? I want the resolution increase.

I've been downsizing. Went from a 7 Plus to the standard XS, and now from a 42 mm Series 3 to a 40 mm Series 4 watch. Love 'em both! The smaller phone is easier to handle and the smaller watch looks better on my dainty 169mm wrist.

I've used mine a fair amount today... from 07:30 and I'm still on 53% at 23:05, so it's been decent. I've been streaming music over Bluetooth (to AirPods), watched a few videos, read and replied to emails and slack for work, and browsed for a couple of hours.

Very solid thus far. But YMMV. First day using it blazed through in no time... but to be expected as it's in set up stage. Will see how it goes Over the next few weeks and be able to say more tbh.

I've had my XS for a few days. I start off the day at 100%, and at the end of the day I'm at around 25% at 4 hours of on screen time. Spotify is a big drain for me too.

The battery isn't all that great. It's a bit worse than my 8 plus imo, but apparently the XS is supposed to be better so idk.

The battery on my XS is great. Woke up with it at 72% and been on it all day (8+ hours). It's at 58%. I don't have FB on my phone, if that means anything.

My question: have they started to make non-leather cases specifically for XS? I know some X cases work.

hey, i think your XS is draining too quickly. i use mine way more and it lasts much longer, probably at about 40% after a decent 6-8 hours of use during the day. take it back.

I think you'll be fine. Apple has been great about getting devices out within two weeks to those that want them.

I'd buy and exchange. Honestly, if you decide to case it(and you should) you won't even know what color you have.

I came from the note 8 and so not really apples to apples comparison but my Xs has been amazing so far compared to the note (the bigger screen definitely plays a part). I stream music on spotify pretty much all day but not to a bluetooth headset and use quite a bit when I get home too. Tend to finish the day with 40-45% or so.

Finally applied a color filter under display accommodations to offset the piss yellow color of my display and haven't looked back since. Best decision I've ever made.

Over time I think I've grown accustomed to not having a percentage and not checking. And in not checking, probably saving battery life.

Is there a trick I'm missing to copy only part of a text on iphone xs? I can copy one word fine, but when I got to manipulate what is being highlighted I get the full paragraph and the nodes become unresponsive.

what's fun about the a12 is that even if you turn on low power mode and downclock it, it still geekbenches on par with a snapdragon 845

Alright, two things are bothering me with my XS.

The first is that I can now notice lag when watching videos with my AirPods. Never saw anything with my 8 plus, but it's clear now watching YouTube and others.

The other is that safari isn't directing me to the apps anymore. Like if I click a twitter or YouTube link it won't send me to the respective app. Can't even long press and click on "Open in Twitter " anymore.

Would try forgetting and rebinding? And I don't have the other problem either. May need to wipe your cache and then erase network settings. If neither is fixed the solution every Apple Store will try is to erase all content and then restore from iCloud.

Looks like erasing and restoring my phone did the trick for both of those problems. I also had problems with my AirPods not pausing when I took them off or being really slow connecting, and that's gone now too.

Is the Apple iPhone installment plane typically a better option than a carrier's payment plane since it includes AppleCare+? Seems like it would be for only $8 since it covers yearly upgrades. Is there an upgrade fee though?

Oh, you're one of those people, huh? You see "piss yellow" when everyone in the industry sees "best color reproduction and accuracy"? Assuming you have True Tone and Night Shift disabled, you can't possibly be unhappy with the colors. What phone are you coming from?
