I'm probably one of the few people who just things they need to make a Marvel game. Take it back to Marvel Superheroes. Then we can get a decent variety of Marvel characters. No offense intended to the Capcom roster. Maybe sprinkle in a few Capcom characters Injustice 2 style.
This is a curious rumor. I'd love to see the game get revisited after the rough initial reception, but it seems that they would have to put so much work into that (starting with the much critiziced graphics) that they may just as well for a new game. Of course, that would likely enrage those fans who actually bought MvCI even more, so there is no clear and easy route forward for them. Given that most people expect it to be the end of their partnership, it will definitely be interesting to see if any of this comes true...

I'd love a 1v1 Marvel game. It would be like Guilty Gear, except with characters I like.
They were. It's a shame a good chunk of theymgot tied down to DLC. Would've helped the base roster immensely.
Assuming that everyone who has a different taste or opinion has been paid to do so is always a sign of a sensible approach to a "discussion" forum, yes.
I also think on the Marvel side they could do something with characters who are Legacy characters. Like after you've been the game with the OG character you can unlock the legacy character and when you character select that OG character it will give you can option to choose the legacy character who will play slightly different like choosing a fighting style in MKX and original supers.
Example:
Thor Odinson unlocks Jane Foster Thor. She has more varied moves with the hammer like in the comic.
Iron Man - War Machine or Ironheart
Hulk - Brawn (Amadeus Cho)...She-Hulk should have her own original base.

You can't write this rumor off completely. Yes he's gotten some rumors wrong or things didn't follow through, but are we really going to dismiss all the rumors he's gotten right?
Well yeah, sorta. If a leaker has shaky credibility then why automatically believe him?
At best all he's done is let us know months/years in advance that the game exists. At worst he's wrong. There's no way to tell now, though, because Vergeben has gotten as much wrong as he has right.
I highly doubt this thread is still open because of the man who posted the rumour. Its still active because we all want a new Marvel game, but nobody is actually believing that the rumour is in fact true.
My question is how the roster would look. Would this be Infinite Plus, or could they add most if not everyone from UMvC3 back. Most of the returning characters already reused assets, so it would make sense to just bring back everyone. Max had a similar idea in his video on the topic.

C'mon, not even Ryce, one of the first person i saw writing about MVCI weeks before it was actually announced, has say something regarding this hypothetical update. I don't think its gonna happen, but i would love to be proven wrong
Even more impossible, add Anita, Onslaught, Apocalypse, Cyber-Akuma, Galactus, Abyss, Armored Spider-Man, Red Venom (Carnage), Orange Hulk (Red Hulk/Madman?), Gold War Machine, Dark Sakura, Mephisto, Shadow Lady, Lilith, Shadow, Mech-Zangief, Norimaro and Lilith along with them to get every single character across the series.

Disagree. The Switch system, slowed down movement and combo system are the main gameplay reasons I dislike MvCi. I hope MvC4 is brand new from ground up and more like older marvel games with added gameplay mechanics.
That's how I truly feel about the gameplay people are free to love MvCi but I truly hope MvC4 is nothing like it.
Knowing Capcom if this is a quick cash in and just using the MvC4 name I'll be super disappointed. I read somewhere one of the MH heads switched to fighting game division of Capcom hopefully he can insure to extract quality product out of them.
Capcom is killing it with RE7, MH, and now DMC I just hope to see a product out of them that matches the effort and quality in MvC4.

I haven't heard anything about MvC since Infinite died, but I'm not putting much stock in this rumor right now with only Vergeben making the claim.
They should keep the switch system if the .000000001% chance that this is real happens. Although, when I did play the game for a month or so, my neutral was just projectile super>tag for mixup.
I'm 100% fine with calling it trash. Thanks for ignoring the part where I said people are free to love it. If we're just going by popular opinion I'd say more people online agreed the game was trash. But, I don't care what other people think of a game I still play UMVC3 to this day and people shit on that game all the time.
Yeah, but it's been a few weeks since I've checked in. I mainly use Discord for personal communication and tend to neglect the community channels.
Will they fix the models and animations? If not, then this isn't gonna convince anyone but a few suckers who haven't been paying attention. They can't just overhaul some cosmetics and add some characters and list it at full price. They need a whole new engine.
Just take the L, wait for the Disney-Fox buyout to be finalized and make MvC4 and this time hopefully without dumbass restrictions from Marvel (like no Xmen).
I obviously know what that means, my point is that saying isn't relevant when you get as much right as Vergeben has. The implication of that saying is generally the person being "right" is seldom correct or was correct by coincidence rather than having concrete information. Neither of those are appropriate for Verge no matter how you feel about him.

If MvC4 happens, it will be a brand new game in a couple years -- one that includes X-Men characters as a selling point, so after the Disney/Fox merger goes through. And it will almost certainly be called MvC4 as a way of telling fans, "This is it. The real sequel. We apologize."
