Completely forgot about this until the MVC4 thread reminded me. https://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/11/16/multiple-man-movie-james-franco/

This movie has yet to be officially canceled, although it's safe to say it probably won't happen because of the Fox deal.

According to James Franco, the movie was gonna be a "hard R" and if is written by the same writer for the most recent Wonder Woman movie. Why a C-Tier X-Men villain was getting this amount of care, I don't know, but I was somewhat intrigued by this. Less than famous characters mean that the creators could do whatever the hell they want with them since no exec is gonna give a shit how they're represented. But I guess we know what happened with this since there hasn't been any news for nearly a year.

Everything not in production when the Disney deal closes is going to get scrapped. Last I heard the merger could be closing in January, so that's pretty much everything other than Dark Phoenix and New Mutants on the X-Film side of things.

I real shame that the gambit, X-23, and Alpha Flight films won't make it

Not hyped on Franco at all but would love a Madrox movie, especially if it pulled from certain X-Factor arcs. However, other than maybe the shitty ultimate version I don't know how or why anyone would call Jamie a "C-List Villian" at worst he is B-list and he is neither a villain or anti-hero. Or regular old hero for what it's worth. More of a reluctant mutant or whatever you want to call the fuckery Peter David made of his origin.

Biggest issue for me though is I am not sure I am comfortable with Franco in any role right now, while as an actor I probably respect him more than most as a person I have some issues with him not facing repercussions for the scumminess of the things he supposedly did, especially as he used his status to commit them.

A B-List Villain is someone like Juggernaut. He is by no means a marquee character but he is still well known by most audiences. Multiple Man is not that.

After x factor how can he be considered a c list villian or even a villian period. I would love a dark noir detective story with mutants like x factor was. Quickly jumped up to one of my favorite marvel characters.

Multiple Man has never really been a Villian like that. There was early misunderstandings before chuck sent him to Muir Island to clean himself up, and there have been versions that did some shit but they were not Prime. And maybe he is not as well known in the mainstream non-comic world but in the X corner of the comics world he has done some stuff including being the lead in multiple X-Factor runs.
