I think what they will do is have Dualshock 5 be split controllers that attach together. So if anyone wants to upgrade to VR all they need is the camera and VR device. No need for Move controllers. Also have all current VR games be fully backwards compatible.
Ideally they would treat headsets like TV sets and just support a standard, nothing proprietary. But with VR where it is I don't think they will.

Don't reply if CTR is being remade.

Hahaha - you jest, but I'm so paranoid about something I say being taken as a gospel confirmation of one thing or another. I've seen how easily things can snowball on the internet that even though I'm sometimes tempted to joke about one thing or another, I have pull back a moment and think about everything i post.

Closing in on a new gen they know they can't coast. That's the only reason they're going to start being more vocal.

I don't expect any pissy insults about the competition next time around tho, Xbox seems to be getting their shit together.

I wish they'd pretend to give a shit about indies again. It was such a huge deal for them early on and now all their reps don't appear to give a fuck.

For the longest while, I legit thought they were just big playstation fans. Had no clue they worked for the company themselves...

I'm really exited for the future of xbox, but these repeating cycles irk me.

Full load of exclusives first half of gen, empty/dry second half

Happened for:
Xbox - xbox 360 - xbox one

Now they buy a handfull of studios and promise yet again that the exclusives are coming.....at the end of yet another generation. I want to believe man....but actions speak louder than words.

I mean yeah I get it where you coming from with this.. People bought into the One ecosystem early on got a bit screwed regarding platform exclusives when compared to Sony's big single player games.

This time around I will not be buying the system at launch and will commit to PC/PS4/Switch for the time being until I see some worth exclusives to buy.

They do. They showed off Guacamelee 2, The Hong Kong Massacre, Oure, Spelunky 2, and the Gardens Between last year at PGW. They aren't the only ones vying for those games anymore though. There's only so many quality indies to showcase at a time. And I don't think anyone wants a repeat of earlier in the gen/end of last gen where cool indie games get shown off and then they keep appearing for 4-5 years at nearly every major convention and everyone just keeps wondering when they come out.

They should!! MS is on a roll and gearing up greatly for next gen.
Wait... hold your horses. Sure, MS has been making great moves lately, but content is king at launch. Given the timing of the recent acquisition, I am not convinced that the newly acquired MS studios will be able to pull something in time for the next Xbox launch. Although, Gamepass will help for sure given that it will most likely carry on to next-gen too.

Content with PS4 on launch was barebones as hell.. look how that went.

This actually sounds really stressful. Sorry man.

Just hire Chad Warden please

Seconded. I still wanna play his version of Devil May Cry lol.

No way at all. If its anything Like what MS is doing on twitter, please stay far away from that method. That method will only get you no exclusive games.

Sony should keep doing what they have been doing. Its working.

I get that he's banned, but I'd really like to know what he thinks someone talking on Twitter has to do with exclusive video games. :P

Why do you want them to? There are a zillion indies on the system? How does it make an iota of difference to you as a consumer?

Go back to the Sony <3 indie days. What do you mean? I said it in my post. It's great that they have all indie games coming to their system but that doesn't mean they shouldn't highlight or give them exposure; or keep the bond strong going forward into PS5.

This goes back to their exec problem. Sony's representatives are corporate and lifeless right now, which is in stark contrast to what they were at the beginning of this gen.

Edit: because I think people sensitive to criticism of their favorite platform are getting offended by what I'm saying, I mean to say that Sony needs to do what Layden mentions and go back to feeling more open with communication. Launch era PS4 was a highlight reel on how to launch a console.

Theres too many to do that. They do what they can with the big ones that come through, but that's usually when the game is already successful. Like, how would you have recommended they cover Dead Cells, Deaths Gambit, Hollow Knight, Guacamelee 2, Overcooked 2 and Brawlout all in the same month?

I think when Sony has huge events like E3 they should have highlight reels like they've done in the past. This isn't something they haven't done. They just don't seem to care as much these days.

Edit: Going to add in this edit to this post too because I think people are focused on the negative too much and maybe my original post that sparked this was better fit for a different thread. I think in the beginning the Sony messaging for PS4 was fucking perfect. Like, so good that they basically destroyed the Xbox One before it ever even hit the market and the unveil was one of my biggest "omg they came for blood" moments in E3 history. They seem comfortable now, which historically is not a good place to be.

That was a good strategy in 2014, but now they are spending millions marketing a half-dozen of their own blockbuster titles, plus their marketing partnerships. Talking about indies at E3 was smart, but it was only to set the expectation for the platform imo. Like I said, there were like a dozen fantastic indie titles in the last 3 months but Destiny and Spider-Man were released as well. Nintendo is doing a lot of great marketing for indies, but they don't have a consistent first party schedule and lower than average major 3rd party support so they have more room for indies to breathe at this point in the lifecycle
