Yep, don't know why they would want sub-par experiences, but they will defend it hard.
Maybe also the people who hate nintendo. I notice every time something negative (or can be perceived negative) about Nintendo hits the news it's always posted and gets tons of hits.

Having just spent last night and this morning arguing with people who think it's fine Netflix and others apps not being on the Switch is good thing, Imma go with this.
I'm a Nintendo fanboy, been one for 20 years, but Jesus Christ, some of the people on this forum will defend anything and get the most defensive about completely fair criticisms.
Along with the accusation that people just have it out for Nintendo because that's how people want to spend their time.
Wouldn't that fit the description of a "loud vocal minority," e.g., a small number of people who are evangelists for a pretty niche set of hardware?
Yeah I think the Nintendo fanboys are definitely up there. There's a lot of them that'll bend over backwards to defend nonsense like voice chat being restricted to a phone app or not even being able to send game invites via a paid online service.
For a while both the VR lovers and VR haters were both about equally sufferable. Now that VR has kinda fallen into the position those of us who weren't vitriolically on either side of the argument (ie: Not "It's the future of gaming and everthing will be VR in the future" or "It's dead on arrival nobody will ever use it.") predicted where VR is a really cool peripheral that can make for some really awesome and unique experiences the overall fighting seems to have calmed down.

Using microtransactions and vehemently defending them aren't the same thing.
99% of people who use microtransactions are children, casuals, and people who don't follow or care about the business side of the game industry.

In all actuality it's probably the anti-microtransactions / things reddit complains about in video games, crowd.
Seems to me like the general public likes FIFA ultimate team, and GTA money a LOT. After all, the only reason GTAV has sold as much as it has, is because new copies of the game come with ludicrous amounts of in game currency.

But the frustrating thing about Nintendo apologists is that, y'all will tear up some games in their own OT, be the most particular about any Mario Party feature, but freak out about Nintendo criticism in general.
I'm still mad about that E3 thread where people just freaked out about the slightest concern or criticism because it was "ruining their hype" and straight up asked me to leave the thread. Then there was that one guy that tweeted "temper your expectation", everyone tore him up and then 12 hours later it turned out he was right.
I wouldn't mind so much if people were just more self-aware when they're doing it.

I don't think there are people who blanket defend microtransactions of all types, though, especially not vehemently. I guess that means they would be a really small minority.
