They love acting? :S

Hey, I love my job too. But, if I had a million dollars tomorrow, they could fuck off.

And I mean, people like Daniel Craig who has made it pretty clear he hates making Bond movies is still making Bond movies. And I can't believe people like Pacino and Willis like making the shit they have shoveled out over the last decade or so.

I get that the real answer is that most people adjust their lifestyles to how much money they make. But, it's one of those things you just wonder how when they reach that level. I'm sure I'd figure out how to spend it if given the chance, too.

I am willing to bet Black Widow becomes the new leader/mentor of the new Avengers. She will be teacher to Spidey and all the others.

Come to think of it, it's kinda bizarre we haven't gotten a Black Widow movie earlier.

This is going to be awesome.

Both Chrises got paid that much for like 15 minutes of screentime in IW? Wow. Sounds weird that they'd get the same amount as their standalone films.

How did a nobody like RDJ get a contract like that for Iron Man?
Because the IM1 was very risky movie, RDJ was a failed drug crazy actor, and they signed him to a great deal that gave him big rights for the sequels. As it turned out, MCU took off with incredible pace, leaving Disney in a bind. They had to pay him a lot, and after IM3 [his last movie of the original deal, where they insisted he had to be "retired" in the end sequence] he managed to renegotiate a new deal. Since he was hotter than Jesus, and entire MCU revolved around him, he got a great deal again.

I'm 22, so I don't think my age has anything to do with this. I just thought MCU made him into an A-lister.

He was literally an A-lister before you were born, he has been around for a while. If you're curious, go watch Chaplin, Natural Born Killers, maybe even U.S. Marshalls but the first two are a must. Man, even in the seasons he was at Ally McBeal he was good and his personal life was pretty much at the bottom there.

Whats going to be the hook for this movie? Outside of Hawkeye, Black Widow is clearly the most boring Avenger both power wise and even with her dialog and team dynamic. Are they going to throw the Hulk, Hawkeye, a Captain America, and another Avenger in this movie to draw in the audience? Im being honest, as of now i dont see anything outside of big time cameos that would draw me to a Black Widow movie.

Good stuff. I'm so happy for her. And I'm eagerly awaiting her movie. A badass female led spy/action film is all I want for Christmas.

It's still an MCU film. I don't think that many people particularly care about Ant-Man, but that just made $600M.

If they keep the budget for BW in the low 100M range, it should be successful. I am not expecting Ragnarok or Homecoming cash though.
Yeah, I do expect it to do well. Especially if Johansson's still got that starpower.
It's just that I'm looking forward to post-A4 MCU to move past the old guard.

I'm keeping an open mind, though. Cate Shortland is a pretty good director.

Great for her but Black Widow is by far the weakest part and the worst hero of the MCU, a solo movie sounds really boring and easy to skip.

Good for her, and good on Marvel / Disney for finally giving her (Black Widow) more attention. It'll be a PG-13 film, but I have faith that Marvel will be able to really dial in the "dark tone" without going with a hard R.

I just hope the casual movie goers don't confuse this with Red Sparrow.

Or Red October. Or White Fang. Or Pink Panther. Or Red Dragon. Or White Squall. Or White Chicks. Or Green Lantern.

I've only seen one of those films, and only I saw it because of Terry Crews.

Is Terry Crews in this? I hope Terry Crews is in this. How do we get Terry Crews into the MCU? HOW?!

It would be easy to make a good spy movie based on some of the stuff from the Edmonson comics, imo.

I heard from a good source that Evans ended up making closer to $30 million off IW

It's good that she is getting the same salary as the guys.

That said, I really don't think her character needs a movie. She's just so boring.

Oh well, maybe the movie will make her interesting, finally.

That salary equals what Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth earned for playing Captain America and Thor, respectively, in this year's Avengers: Infinity War. Evans and Hemsworth also nabbed that same $15 million payday for Captain America: Civil Warand Thor: Ragnarok, respectively, as well as the upcoming fourth Avengers film."

Fuck yeah, great for her.

I think this Black Widow movie could turn out better than we expect. Apparently the production designer for this is Maria Djurkovic and she did Red Sparrow and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. So it's a safe bet that the movie will at least look the part. Red Sparrow even felt like it was a test run for a BW movie sometimes.

RDJ was smart and got his ducks in a line before the MCU turned into what it is today. He's the only one capable of getting the kind of paychecks and royalty he does because he got in early.

But that isn't apparent. It's actually quite likely that Hemsworth stays as he has mentioned that Ragnarok/IW reinvigorated his love for the character, for example.
He also does a ton of other films, so as long as he's having fun and doesn't mind the diet/exercise for the role, I don't see why I'd quit if I were him.
