Tony Hawk is a venerable gaming franchise and it's been all-but absent this gen. The Pro Skater titles specifically rank among some of the highest-reviewed games of previous console generations, and with good reason. Fluid move transition, a palpable sense of heft and inertia, transforming environs, and varied gameplay styles kept players entranced while the pop / punk / ska / hip hop soundtrack gnawed its way into our eardrums.

Reboot it! Modernize it! Make America Skate Again What's your pitch?

Mine: A Forza Horizon 4-style open world in the Bay Area and Oakland that features sub-zone skate parks, evaporation flats, landmarks that have objectives that will transform / terraform them. These sub zones would function like towers in a Ubisoft / BotW game, opening up area coverage of a map.

Tony Hawk on a skateboard. He hurts himself pretty badly from any decent sized fall. It takes a long time to recover while he heals, you can't play the game during that time period.

Skate 4 with Tony Hawk's name attached to it for branding/marketing reasons only.

Edit: Beaten like Tas Pappas

The original formula would work just fine today. The game just needs to not suck.

THPS Online

Same physics as the OG games.

Tony Hawk's Underground 3: It's Just A Prank Bro

You have to film pranks for YouTube and the more obscene, the more views you get. Views are the only score method in the game.

A reboot.

You play as a human hawk called Tony in a cinematic pop-and-cover TPS-shooter.
Your son has been kidnapped and it's up to you and your daughter to save him.

The relationship at first is rocky, but as the game progresses Tony and his daughter come together more and more.

Also. She skateboards and her specialmove is that she does a sick flip and throws the skateboard at people so their heads explode in a billion gibs.

I would name it; Tony the Hawk Pro Shooter featuring Skateboard.

New York / Jersey / California style mashup environment for free-roam skating, indoor parks are more akin to traditional THPS levels. It should play like Underground 2.

I misread this as "it's just a plank, bro," and immediately thought "oh fuck no not another Tony Hawk game with a shit skateboard peripheral included."

2 minutes to get high score, collect the letters SKATE, accomplish a few other random tasks depends on the stage. Good mix of licensed music.

I'd get away from THPS and reboot with a different title.

- I would have a Halo Forge World type level editor which allows plays to create custom maps and just go in and mess around.
- I'd have a replay mode that allows players to take clips and create montages.
- Custom character creator
- Story mode with career progression.
- Story mode will feature optional objectives per mission, some hidden. Unlocks side missions to learn new tricks from famous skaters.
- Online multiplayer modes.
- Daily challenges.

Next gen's Skate (I don't care about THPS) gonna be good when you compare Skate 3 to Next gen Skate 4. Must be a huge jump in fidelity!

2K 60 fps or 1080p 120fps on supported monitors; splitscreen-support and easy online-play where even non-game-owners can join some kind of more simple mode (S.K.A.T.E or downhill); easy accessible photo-mode and a special store where you can sell you photos for in-game money; trick-creator - develop new kinds of tricks!; Gran Turismo-level on various settings (aerodynamics in clothes (also possible to add some kind of cape and fly), wheels, trucks, bearings, boards of different materials/physical design); better spotify-integration with music fading out in cut-scenes etc. meaning there won't be any soundtrack at all (money saved for development)...

I want there to be a real danger when skating. Have capped rails, wheel spikes, a lot of security goons etc. Having a paradise for skating doesn't come off right if there's no danger.

A hundred skaters jump out of an airplane and shred all over an island. Every five seconds the person with the lowest score dies until there is only one left.

You familiar with "Aggressive architecture?" It's mostly meant to deter the homeless from sleeping on benches / vestibules (shortening or segmenting the seat), drunks from urinating in buildings (urine splashes back toward the offender), rail guards to prevent skaters, et cet.

Have some anti-skater aggressive architecture in the world you have to avoid as it breaks your combo. Maybe work toward sub-goals that dismantles the architecture and turns the region into a skate paradise.

A time travel to the 80s with Bad brains, Run DMC, Black Flag, Beastie Boys, Woodini, block party and graffiti-roller-bmx

You play an east-coast white girl from the New Jersey who first had to make her proof in New York City than all accross the USA . Or you can choose a young black lad from Long Beach L.A, with a simillar story (the outcast who has everything to prove) viewed from the opposite coast.

That would be the two story mode, mixing open-world sequence and level challenge (bowl, ramp etc.).The free-roam mode let you create what you want as character.

The not-so final duel oppose you two, before the real final challenge where the loser is here to aplause you (because you two, previously rivals, pass the night together) against the real vilain of the story.

A mandatory sequence : the old wise hawaian man, who will teach you the spirit of the wave and how to translate all this ancestral ocean wisdom to the ground of your skateboard.

With Jason Lyttle (from Grandaddy) and Stephen Malkmus (from Pavement) as guests for the soundtrack produced by Rick Rubin.

I'd like this.

I think thps2 was the mechanically best game of the series. For an open world, getting off your board would be necessary though. Would be cool if you could then actually go into skateshops and buy stuff for your character and get quests there.

The ost was always a big part so they should bring back the old osts (1 and 2) and I like that someone mentioned ska in here. Thps without less than jake would suck.

And a Level Editor of course.

But I think there are some issues with the license right?

It's Tony Hawk Pro Skater, except it's Skate.

No but honestly, get those physics right mand. The beauty of Tony Hawk was the arcade-feel. Make a level editor that's worth something, and give us a career mode, not story mode, that puts up a challenge!

Tony Hawks Pro SK4TER

Skate 3 with improved graphics/physics. Keep it realistic in terms of physics but add a lot of goofiness that THPS is known for.

The soundtrack needs to be top notch too! A lot of old classics and new upcoming bands.

Seriously why has it not been done yet?

I want it to be like Hitman. 6 or 7 large, open areas, with crazy secrets. THUG on crack.

Put the team behind Skate to do it. Put two or three different OST options from popular music genres today, like trap (don't stick to nostalgia factor), lots of secret characters (the more crazy, the better). Put a lot of different modes, include a track editor option, make it as arcade as possible. Character roster should include skaters from all different eras, including legacy ones like Bob Burnquist. Maintain the option to create our own skater or to improve the stats of any playable skater (similar to Tony Hawk Pro's Skater 2). Put cheat codes and unlockeables that can only be obtained in-game, and etc.

With that we should probably get a good Tony Hawk's game.
