"Your access ends January 15, 2019
After January 15, you won't be able to access the game anymore or your saved progress and achievements. But until then, play as much as you want. To get you started, you'll have $10 of in-game currency to spend in the game (you won't be able to make additional purchases on your own)."

I know it requires a Ubi account, so say I purchase the game after Jan 15th on uPlay, would I be able to gain access to the above? It doesn't specify.

Apparently there is bug in the game that's let you play as nude main character XD

The Ars Technica article mentions GeForce Now being only available for the Shield TV, but the Beta program is available for PCs and Macs.

Day 2, still super solid. Played for 6 hours and it felt like I was playing offline.

It's really impressive, but christ, I'm starting to wish it wasn't ACO because this game is janky as all fuck.

:O how?
#totallynotinterested

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm joking, I'm really not interested... yeah.

Friend got in and tried it last night and he was greeted with nude Kassandra XD It is not full nudity, pants are there but nothing else. I don't think that you can see character in that state in main game.

The ability for Google to know what you play, when you play it and for how long, and to tie that to you personally and everything else you do online is fucking horrifying.

Played it a bit and there was not much lag/delay at all but I do not think I can bring myself to put any amount of time in it being that it looks so terrible. Looks like a PC game on low settings, not even comparable to the PS4 or XB1. Going to play it some more but graphically it does not impress me.

That $10 bonus is siloed to the GPS build. (As are any uPlay achievements.) My $10 bonus in GPS didn't somehow appear in my PC version. (If you spend uPlay coins on the GPS build, otoh, they're gone for good once the test ends.)

The Ars Technica article mentions GeForce Now being only available for the Shield TV, but the Beta program is available for PCs and Macs.

Fixed, apologies.

So it's a complete different build (ala PS4/Xbox) interesting. Good to know. Thanks!

The ability for Google to know what you play, when you play it and for how long, and to tie that to you personally and everything else you do online is fucking horrifying.
They already know where I am (Maps), where I drive and how fast (Waze), what I search for, what apps I use and who I call etc (Android phone), store my emails, have my bank details, know what I watch on YouTube, I could go on and on. It's scary and tempting to set up a separate Google account for each service. But them also knowing what games I play is probably the least of my worries.

But yeah, I don't know who I should fear more between Google, Amazon and Facebook. I know all three can make me feel I could be falling in to an episode of Black Mirror or perhaps even the mind of Terry Gilliam at any time.

"Available" as in you can submit your details and wait weeks for an invite. I'm still waiting for my invite, I'm intrigued to try it out. That said, hands-on impressions in the media have been kind regarding latency, but less kind regarding image quality.

I guess I just wish I had more faith in Google to not end up dropping this project in a few years. Especially after Google+ ended today.
Google is one of the most late to enter, copycat developers in the world. And when something isn't a hit it goes down the drain and is erased totally. They have more abandoned projects than employees. So yeah, put zero faith in a Google product unless it's a hit from day one.

US only beta...
I expected Google to test on a bigger regional scale to be honest.

I wasn't as bothered by the input latency as I'd thought I'd be, the video compression when the game was in motion was sort of a problem though, also was it just me or was the audio quality sort of weird.

I just got into this today. No matter what I do, my streaming data rate seems to be capped at 2Mbps. Won't let me pass the connection test. I have pretty damn good internet (150Mbps) and I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue on their side?

Ooooh boy. Just got access to this. Will update this post with my thoughts and such.

Also Google told me that there is no NDA on this, in case any of you are wondering.

They also told me(despite their TOS) that you can stream the game on Twitch and make videos on YouTube about it, but that's per Google Project Stream Support.

I just got the invite today and tried it out for half an hour.

One thing I hope they improve on is letting the game run idle while I browse another tab in Chrome. You can't view or click on other tabs while playing.

Other than that, the experience is pretty seamless so far. Video quality ranged from really damn good to noticeably less crisp.

Input lag was actually better than I thought. I'm not to sure how it will feel with competitive games, but playing AC: Odyssey felt fine enough. I'll keep playing under different conditions to see how the quality holds up.

Well I just got an invite. Was planning on waiting for sale granted RDR is right around the corner, but not going to snooze on this. Now I'm just curious how it will perform with my laptop connected to my tv (LG OLED B6). Will it add extra /noticeable input lag by going this route?

Logged in last night but didn't play. Just made sure to get the Uplay sign up garbage out of the way.

But let me tell you. Plugging in a dead Dualshock 4 into my 2013 Macbook Pro with no graphics card and seeing a 2018 AAA game running at 1080p60 boot up immediately...it doesn't get old. It still feels like magic even though we've had this technology for years now.

Also forgot to add that for me the game definitely isn't running at 60fps.

I just tried this out. I was really excited, initially, but after playing for about an hour, I'm really bummed. I have a 175 mbps download speed, and 12 mbps upload, yet an icon kept popping up on the lower right side of the screen telling me there was an issue with my connection which would effect the quality of the stream. I didn't notice any lag, but the quality of the resolution and compression looked pretty bad. It looked sub HD on my end.

I'll try it again later to see if it improves. As far as the game goes, I liked what I played so far. If anything I can just use this as an extended demo to decide if I want to buy this on the X1X.

My connection isn't as good as yours, somewhere around 75/10, and I had the same experience. Maybe I'll pick it up for the X down the road.

I've probably put about an hour into the game so far. My findings:

- The game is actually legitimately fun. I didn't have high hopes considering all the criticisms regarding game balance and microtransactions, but the game itself is solid. I can't compare it to previous Assassin's Creed games, since I've never actually played one. Perhaps I should go hang out in the OT.
- The streaming performs extremely well. No noticeable lag whatsoever, but the image is a little soft (probably because the stream is likely 1080p, and I use 1440p monitors). The game also seems to play at around 30 FPS, and I'm pretty sure my PC could manage 60 FPS at the same quality level if I played it natively. I have a 1 gigabit up / 1 gigabit down connection, which definitely helps, but I know that I have enough bandwidth to spare to support a native resolution stream.

If anything, I'm a bit torn. The game is fun enough that I'd actually be willing to spend the cash to buy it, but I'm also likely to give up playing it before the testing ends, so perhaps it would be $60 wasted. Either way, I think that the whole thing has changed my mind somewhat about game streaming. Give me a 1440p stream and I'd be all over it.

I've honestly been very impressed by the quality of Nvidia's GeForce Now service, I played several fast paced, high-end games (like Doom) start to finish on the service and aside from the occasional dip in resolution (my Internet isn't always consistent), the input delay was almost non-existent and I got to play with an insanely spec'ed machine. I have even more confidence in Google getting a service like this right than Nvidia, so I'm really hoping to get in on this and try it out. Same for MS' xCloud. Whichever is best I will be very happy to use since I only have a MacBook right now.

"Sorry, this project is currently open in the U.S. only"

Why? As a non-US citizen, you often feel like being considered as second class.

Did google just send out a massive wave or something? I had signed up with 3 email address to try and get a slot and I just got 3 codes all at once O_O.
