Only played the first level of Mark of the Ninja so far but it seemed exactly like I remembered it. Totally holds up gameplay wise as well!

Mark of the Ninja runs at 30fps on Switch and 60fps on every other platform. I'm pretty sure it ran at 60fps on Xbox 360 as well (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

This type of stuff is maddening. I'm probably going to add this to the wishlist and just wait for a sale now.

Oh god, now I really, really want that.

Bubble Bobble (+ Final Version), Bubble Bobble "2", Rainbow Islands (+ Extra Version), Parasol Stars, Symphony and Bubble Bobble Neo.
Gimme perfect emulation (TAITO lost the source code to BB anyway), online play, leaderboards, tons of filters and scanlines options, cool achievements, museum section and so on.
I'm in for €50 (yeah I'm crazy).

Puzzle Bobble should be coming next month as ACA NEO-GEO.
Well looking at how the Darius Collection went it'd probably be just the arcade games and no Rainbow Islands with some console releases as part of a $100 preorder. :[

I love Taito, I love M2 and I love Darius but that definitely could've been handled better, and hopefully will be in the west.

I am going to be all over BAM1-2 when Hamster puts them up.

Quite a few potentially fun games for couch gaming this week. Joggernauts Jog! Jump! Switch!; Shift Happens; and Tricky Towers all release in the next couple of days.

Next week has Deru: The Art of Cooperation as well.

Shift Happens and Tricky Towers are already out for other platforms. Haven't played the former yet, but it seems to be okay. Had a lot of fun with Tricky Towers though.

Redout is never coming out at this rate.

Wait, did Bubble Bobble have bosses?

Yeah, BB has Super Drunk has its final boss.
While Final Bubble Bobble (the fantastic EU/JPN-exclusive Master System's port of BB) has also Super Maita and Super Hidegons.
Then of course RI, PS, BB Part 2 all have many bosses.

Really? Do we have a source on this or something? If true I'll just stick with my Steam version.

WHAT. THE. HELL?!
Is Mark of Ninja seriously 30fps on Switch??
Please tell me it ain't true.

Yeah. I'm "lucky" since besides enjoying Gaiden and memories of 3-screens Darius in the arcades as a kid, I've never been a fan of the series despite shmups being my jam, so I'm not that bummed.

I'm still debating if I want to import the Psykio Collections, since I have all the games already.

Oof, 30fps killed my impulse buy on Switch for Mark of the Ninja.

But maybe I'll redirect that money to Guacamelee...

I want to get this game badly but i just want to play it in undock mode. I want to get a idea on how badly this suppose to look in that mode. Wish Nintendo could released a demo for it.

As someone with close to 200hrs in Undocked mode. Its fine. Unless you need 4K100FPS in everything you will get used to it. At its worst its blury in some area's with dense particle effects but that's about it. Its way better then what Rocket League was when it first released (Especially Wasteland. That was bad)

Whelp, guess I'll just stick to the STEAM version of Mark of the Ninja.

Very surprised the Switch can't run the game @ 60fps but here we are. Bummer.

The Switch can absolutely run this game at 60fps. They just decided not to optimize the Switch version for some reason. The original runs at 60fps on much weaker hardware (Xbox 360). This remaster was likely aimed at XB1/PS4 and downported to Switch, with little priority given to ensure a solid Switch conversion. It's really the only thing that can explain why it isn't running at 60.

You're exactly right. They just didn't bother. Really frustrating.

I'd definitely buy Mark of The Ninja immediately after a patch that fixes framerate in handheld mode is live if that's indeed a bug.

I just tested Mark of the Ninja -- started the game undocked and then docked it. The game ran at 60fps. What an odd bug.

Edit: Actually, it may still be 30fps now that I rewatch the the footage.

I've seen your praise for the game and it really sounds right up my alley. But the art style in the trailer kinda reminded me of a certain webcomic which is not at all positive or happy and which I kinda detest. Sounds like I should just get past that

Not sure what webcomic you are referring to, hmm. Wandersong seems positive, sincere and whimsical :)

Do you suspect the performance is caused by bad connections? I'd like to play the game with only my friends so I wonder he the experience would be better

Thanks for replying though!

Unfortunately I don't know what causing the change in performance for online mode in Hover. It's totally playable that way, just not as smooth as offline.

BTW have been playing Mark of the Ninja today since it unlocked and enjoying it a lot, such a smart stealth experience. There's something about playing excellent 2D games on Switch handheld mode that's so satisfying. Steamworld Dig 2, Celeste, Hollow Knight, Speed Brawl, Wandersong, now this. The good times never end :D

Definitely need some clarification on mark of the ninja. 30fps is ridiculous so I am hoping this is a bug that's gonna be fixed asap

So where are the new nes games, still want to know what this SP is.

I have to agree that there should be much more than those first 20 games.
Also from multiple gen's.

So I guess we finally know what those "Special" versions of the NES games are (Zelda is the first one apparently). It's pretty much an easy mode version of the game. The game starts you off with a bunch of items, updated gear and max rupees.

It's more disappointing than I expected.

Bubble Bobble is one of my favourite game of all time. And i also LOVE parasol stars. But Rainbow Island never clicked for me.

3 Nes games per month is ridiculous. I'm enjoying the channel but the pace of releases is really, really bad.

Yeah, it's pretty embarrassing. I really like the service, the online adds much more to it than I expected it to (i wouldn't have sunk as much time as I have into Hockey if it didn't have online) but especially now that we know how the online works and that it's NES Online Service "App" level and not emulated game level so it's not like they're doing a bunch of work to these ROMs it's nutso that they're only doing 3 releases (and one or two "Cheat" versions of previous releases) a month. It definitely doesn't fill me with confidence that they're going to ever get to SNES games.

So where are the new nes games, still want to know what this SP is.

Press + on the NES App on the home screen and hit check for updates. The update didn't automatically pop for me either.

SP versions of games are just games with a bunch of shit unlocked.
